Abstract
Selon le procédé, on introduit des copeaux de bois (16) dans un fourreau (10) contenant deux vis parallèles (12, 14) en engrènement relatif, leurs filets (12B, 14B) présentant successivement, dans le sens (S) vers l'aval, au moins une série amont et une série aval de tronçons (SM, SI, SA) comprenant chacune une zone d'entraînement (SME, SIE, SAE) dans laquelle les copeaux sont entraînés vers l'aval et une zone de freinage (SMF, SIF, SAF) à travers laquelle les copeaux sont forcés, les copeaux étant ainsi entraînés dans le fourreau (10) en étant freinés dans les zones de freinage et en étant transformés en fibres (24). La durée de séjour des copeaux dans le fourreau (10) est comprise entre 15 et 80 secondes et on assure une pression au moins sensiblement égale à 90 bars à l'amont de la zone de freinage (SMF) de la série amont (SM), de telle sorte qu'une température comprise entre 120°C et 150°C soit atteinte dans le fourreau (10) sans apport extérieur de chaleur.
