发明背景

发明概要

定义
“亲水的”描述为由与纤维接触的水性液体润湿的纤维或纤维的表面。材料的润湿的程度随之可以用相关的液体和材料的接触角以及表面张力来描述。适于测量专门纤维材料或纤维材料的混合物的润湿性的设备和技术可以由Cahn SFA-222表面力分析仪系统或基本等量系统提供。当用这种系统测量时,具有小于90°接触角的纤维称为“可润湿的”或亲水的,而具有等于或大于90°接触角的纤维称为“非可润湿的”或疏水的。

试验方法

Martindale磨损试验:此试验测定织物对磨损的相对抵抗性。试验结果按1至5个级报导,5级磨损最小而1级磨损最大,是在1.3磅/英寸2的重量荷载下经120次循环的平均试验结果。试验采用Martindale磨耗与磨损试验机,例如型号为103或403型,可购自James H.Heal &Company,Ltd.of West Yorkshire,Englamd。所用的磨料为36英寸×4英寸的0.05英寸厚的硅橡胶轮,以玻璃纤维增强,其橡胶的表面强度为81A硬度计,邵氏硬度81±9。这种磨料可购自Flight Insulation Inc,它是Connecticut Hard Rubber,925 Industrial Park,NE,Marietta,GA30065的一家批发商。
织物手感测定(Handle-O-Meter):根据织物手感测定试验可以计量非织造织物的柔软性。在此使用的试验是带有两种改进的INDA标准试验1st90.0-75(R82):1)样品尺寸是4英寸乘以4英寸,和2)测试五个样品而不是两个。试验是在Thwing-Albert instrumentCo.,10960 Dutton Road,Phila.PA19154织物手感测定仪型号211-5上进行的。织物手感测定读数是1-5的刻度。
液位差:织物阻液性的一种测度是液位差。液位差试验确定预定量的液体通过织物之前的织物能支承的水的高度(以mbar表示)。有较高的液位差读数的织物表明它比具有较低液位差的织物能较好地阻挡液体的渗透。液位差试验是根据联邦试验标准191A,方法5514进行。
详细描述
已经开发了许多不同的热粘合花纹用于非织造织物,以便为粘合到其它材料(即非织造织物和膜)上进一步加工成最终材料时赋予其整体性,并给予特殊的视觉标志。例如,对于无菌包件应用的一些花纹提供指示,以帮助表明织物应折叠的位置。尿布和拭巾的图案可以包括诸如熊、火车等“微形物”。已经开发了更多的实用的花纹应用于诸如汽车外罩和吸油材料。
已知最近开发的一种花纹作为点未粘合或PUB花纹,其包括被粘合面积100%围绕的未粘合织物,它的一个例子表示于图4中。该花纹一般可以有约25%至50%的粘合面积。未粘合面积的完整包围赋予此花纹良好的耐磨性,而具有这种花纹的非织造织物已发现应用于例如钩件和环件系统中的“环件”。在某些Huggies尿布上平台面积上可以找到这种织物。应相信,这种未粘合面积的完整包围因在小面积内束缚所有松弛端而极大地降低了纤维的游动性。由于在许多应用中需要一定的韧度,带有这种花纹的纤维某种程度上可以是刚硬的。
一种较早的花纹就是已知的扩展的Hansen-Pennings或“EHP”粘合花纹。此EHP花纹具有一般从约10%至约30%的粘合面积,它的一个例子表示于图2中。较高的粘合面积可能但通常是导致不适合于许多应用的刚硬的纤维。此EHP花纹并不完全围绕未粘合面积,所以纤维的游动性和柔软性要比PUB织物的大,然而,在同一粘合面积处的耐磨性和强度要比PUB织物的低。
为了避免在PUB、EHP或其它花纹中看到的耐磨性和柔软性之间的交替转换,本发明人开发了一种花纹,其中,一个未粘合面积不完全被粘合面积围绕,但很大程度上被围绕。这种花纹提供足够数量的固定不动的纤维来增强织物,并不增加更多的不愿要的刚性。
测试粘合本发明花纹(本发明人称作“S型织纹”)的例子以及EHP粘合织物的织物,表明耐磨性有惊人的增加,和带有良好的强度与可接受的柔软性的液位差。织物的细节和测试如下:
例子1
使用非织造层和膜层制造一层压件。
织造层是通过纺粘工艺用由具有约3.5重量百分比的乙烯的聚丙烯共聚物制造的2旦尼尔(denier)纤维制成的20gsm织物层。该共聚物是由Union Carbide Company在牌号6D43下制造的。如此制造的非织造织物与或是图2中EHP花纹或是图1中的S型织纹的花纹自热粘合的。
膜是具有粘合层和外层的多层膜。膜通过共挤压制成,其整个重量是58gsm。粘合层由约55%重量百分比的SupercoatTM CaCO3(可构自China Clay of Sylacauga,Alabama,并具有约15%重量百分比的十八烷酸或山俞酸涂层来加强填料的分布)、45%重量百分比的具有密度约为0.87g/cm3和熔体指数为190℃下3.5g/10分钟的Dow AFFINITYEG8200低密度弹性金属茂结晶聚乙烯制成。外层由约50%重量百分比的SupercoatTM CaCO3、45%重量百分比的具有密度约为0.918g/cm3和熔体指数为190℃下3.5g/10分钟的DOWLEXNG3310线性低密度聚乙烯、约5%重量百分比的DOW低密度聚乙烯4012和约2000ppm的CibaGeigy’s B900稳定剂制成。
将共挤压膜只在拉伸操作中沿机器方向拉伸约其原长的391%。在拉伸之前,使膜在约49℃下绕一系列辊通过而将其预热。在拉伸步骤中,该膜由在约66℃下的一慢速辊保持往回,而由一快速辊在约21℃下保持拉动。然后拉伸的膜在约82℃下无拉伸的通过另一辊而退火。
拉伸的膜和预粘合的非织造织物被送到热点粘合机,并利用在约93℃下的加热花纹辊和在约88℃下的光滑辊以线性每英寸约175磅的辊隙压力将它们层压在一起。该花纹辊使用一种将15%的粘合面积施加到层压件上的微型物花纹。
用非织造织物和膜制成的最终的层压件的基重约为42gsm。带有S型织纹花纹的织物的层压件当在相对侧出现1个水压降时具有未支持的约95mbar的液位差和226gsm的MD剥离强度。带有EHP花纹的织物的层压件当在相对侧出现1个水压降时具有未支持的约61mbar的液位差和约298gsm的MD剥离强度。注意这些结果是三个单独测量的平均值。
例子2
将来自例子1的非织造织物(只有)样品进行Martindale磨损、织物手感测定、张力强度和抓样张力测试。结果于表1中给出。

最为对比例子,由同样的聚合物制造的非织造织物(只有)样品与上述的各例一样,其具有按照美国专利No.5620779的rib-knit(RK)花纹,并以在例子2中同样的方式对丝织纹(WWW)花纹进行测试。下面表2中给出这些信息。

由S型织纹样品得出的结果表面当保持可接受的柔软性的同时强度和耐磨性增强了。在层压件形式中液位差也随膜增加。由于S型织纹花纹和EHP花纹具有约同样的粘合面积、粘合密度和基重,因此这些增加是非常惊人的。
在替代实施例中,可以拉伸有S型织纹花纹的织物或层压件,以便在按照例如上面引证的径部拉伸的专利或美国专利No.4588630(授予Shimalla)、No.3949127(授予Ostermeier等人)No.5628097(授予Benson等人)所述的材料中形成穿孔或开孔。这些材料涉及在印上花纹之后为在粘合点打开织物而拉伸该织物。
花纹的S型织纹型通过检验花纹的元件或销的高宽比以及未粘合纤维的高宽比最易于理解。
现在参见附图,注意图2和3上的线性拉伸仅只是用于说明性的,并不形成花纹的部分。元件或销只是形成花纹。
图1是满足本发明要求的花纹的实例。图1中元件或销1是相同的。销有中心对中心的0.143英寸的间距2和0.0288英寸的最小间距3。销沿中心线是0.012英寸宽和0.1226英寸长。
图2有方锥形点10的花纹,其宽向间距11为0.0664英寸,而窄向间距12为0.0526英寸。销横向全部为0.037英寸。
图3有相同细长的椭圆形的元件20,它的宽度21为0.016英寸而长度22为0.031英寸。
图4有由以对角线表示的粘合面积31完全围绕的纤维30。
对于图2所示EHP花纹的元件高宽比1,因为该元件的长度和宽度是相同的,即粘合点是方形的。图3所示的丝织纹花纹的元件长度为0.031英寸,而宽度为0.016英寸,元件的高宽比(0.031/0.016)约为2。图1所示的S型织纹花纹的元件的高宽比,是例如0.1226/0.012英寸或约为10。相信比率高到20和低到2可以工作,其中超过这些限制将遭遇刚性(高于20)或缺乏整体性(低于2)。特别是约7和15之间的比率是需要的,或更特别的是约8和12之间的比率。
也需要花纹的未粘合面积足够大。这保证了足够的纤维自由的用作构件和环件系统的环件材料。这也有助于保证纤维不会太刚硬。在图2所示的情况下,未粘合纤维的高宽比约为3,而在图3所示的情况下,高宽比约为1.7。图1所示的S型织纹花纹的未粘合纤维的高宽比约为5,如由0.143/0.0288。相信比率高到10和低到3可以工作,特别是约8和3之间的比率是需要的,或更特别的是约6和4之间的比率。
由于高的粘合花纹可能整体上太刚硬,因此,在说明本发明的粘合花纹中粘合面积也是重要的。本发明人发现,粘合面积的百分比需要小于30%,特别是在10-25%之间,更特别是在15-20%之间。
S型织纹花纹的另一方面是花纹的销密度。某些粘合花纹可以有每平方英寸500销的销密度,而S型织纹花纹和EHP花纹一般是在50-200销/英寸2范围内,特别是在75-150销/英寸2的范围内,而在各实例中约为100。例如美国专利No.5620779中的花纹的销密度在200-300范围内,且已知丝织纹花纹的销密度一般约为300,即使是用大致与S型织纹花纹或EHP花纹同样的粘合面积粘合。比较例的PK花纹和WW花纹的销密度分别是约242和302。应相信,带有大致同样粘合面积的高的销密度束缚更多的纤维,即降低纤维的自由度,并用于增加纤维的刚性并降低柔软性。
新颖的S型织纹花纹可以用于自粘合织物,并与将差别很大的材料层压在一起制成的花纹区别开来。S型织纹花纹可以使用任何可热粘合的纤维、单成分、双组分、共轭、共形成等。
图1的花纹,例如,满足于本发明的要求,并且制造出的织物的耐磨性和强度大于粘合有同样量的粘合面积而无所需高宽比的织物。非织造织物/膜实施例的液位差也高于粘合有同样的粘合面积而高宽比超出本发明要求的织物。

Claims (21)
1.一种粘合有花纹的非织造织物,其中粘合面积具有在约2至约20之间的元件高宽比且在约3至约10之间的未粘合纤维高宽比,而且粘合面积在30%以下。
2.如权利要求1所述的非织造织物,其中粘合面积在约5%至约30%之间。
3.如权利要求1所述的非织造织物,其中粘合密度在约7.75至约31销/厘米2。
4.如权利要求1所述的非织造织物,其中花纹是热粘合的。
5.如权利要求4所述的非织造织物,该非织造织物具有大于具有相同粘合面积但元件高宽比小于2的织物的耐磨性和强度。

15.一种热粘合非织造织物,其包括具有元件高宽比在约7至约15之间且未粘合纤维高宽比在约8至约3之间以及粘合面积在30%以下的花纹。
16.如权利要求15所述的热粘合非织造织物,该热粘合非织造织物具有的粘合面积小于约30%。
17.如权利要求15所述的热粘合非织造织物,其中,所述元件高宽比在约8至约12之间。
18.如权利要求15所述的热粘合非织造织物,其中花纹的元件高宽比在约8至约12之间、粘合面积在约15至20之间且未粘合纤维高宽比在约6至约4之间。
