EMI0001.0005
75 Teilen 5-Chlor-l-oxynaphthalin, 4 Teilen Natriumhydroxyd, 5,3 Teilen Natriumearbo- nat in 200 Teilen Wasser gegeben.
Process for the production of a metal-containing azo dye. It has been found that a new, valuable, metal-containing azo dye is obtained by using the monoazo dye of the formula
EMI0001.0005
Earning agent can act in such a way that a chromium-containing azo dye is formed which contains two monoazo dye molecules bound to a chromium atom in a complex.
The new dye forms a water-soluble powder that dyes wool from a weakly alkaline, neutral or acetic acid bath in navy blue shades of excellent fastness to washing, decaturation and carbonisation by coupling the 5-chloro-1-oxynaphthalene with methods known per se, for.
B. using hydrochloric acid and sodium nitrite, diazotized 2-amino-1-oxyben- zene-5-methylsulfone can be produced.
To produce the 2-amino-l-oxybenzene-5-methylsulfone required here, 1,2-benzoxazolone - 5 - sulfonic acid chloride is reduced with sodium sulfite to benzoxazolone sulfinic acid, the same methylated, e.g. B. with dimethyl sulfate, and the 1,2-benzoxazolone-5-methylsulfone thus obtained is passed through alkaline saponification into the 2-amino-1-oxybenzene-5-methylsulfone.
The treatment with the chromium-releasing agents takes place, as already mentioned, in such a way that a chromium-containing dye is created which contains two monoazo dye molecules bound to one atom of chromium in a complex. Accordingly, the chromizing is expediently carried out with such chromium-releasing agents and by methods which, according to experience, provide complex chromium compounds of this composition. It is generally advisable to use less than one, but at least half an atom of chromium on a molecule of a dye and / or to carry out the chromation in a weakly acidic to alkaline medium.
Demzu follow are those Chromverbindun conditions that are stable in an alkaline medium, particularly well suited for carrying out the method, such. B. those chromium compounds of aliphatic oxycarboxylic acids or preferably aromatic o-oxycarboxylic acids which contain the chromium in a complex bond. The chrome plating ge happens with advantage in the heat, open or under pressure, z. B. at the boiling point of the reaction mixture, optionally in the presence of suitable additives, for.
B. in the presence of salts of organic acids, bases, organic solvents or white direct agents promoting complex formation. Example: 18.7 parts of 2-amino-1-oxybenzene-5-methylsulfone are suspended in 400 parts of water and, after the addition of 22 parts of 30% hydrochloric acid and ice, through at 0-5 Addition of a solution of 6.9 parts of sodium nitrite in 25 parts of water is diazotized. The diazo solution is made Congo-neutral by adding sodium carbonate and then to a solution of 17, cooled to 0 with ice.
75 parts of 5-chloro-1-oxynaphthalene, 4 parts of sodium hydroxide, 5.3 parts of sodium carbonate are added to 200 parts of water. After coupling has ended, the dye which has completely precipitated out is filtered off and dried.
18.8 parts of the dye thus obtained are dissolved in 500 parts of water with the addition of 4 parts of sodium hydroxide, and 60 parts of a solution of chromium salicylic acid with a chromium content of 2.6% are added. The chromating mixture is stirred for a few hours at boiling temperature. After the chromation is complete, the chromium complex formed is completely eliminated by adding sodium chloride and filtered off.
