  verfahren zur Herstellung eines Gemisches von     quaternären        Ammoniumverbindungen.       Gegenstand des Hauptpatentes ist ein  Verfahren zur     Herstellung    einer     quaternären          Ammoniumverbindung    durch Einwirken  lassen von     Benzylchlorid    auf     Diäthyl-          dodecylamin.     



  Gegenstand des vorliegenden Patentes  ist ein     Verfahren    zur Herstellung eines Ge  misches von     quaternären        Ammoniumverbin-          dungen.    Das Verfahren ist dadurch gekenn  zeichnet,     -dass    man auf ein Gemisch von       Diäthyl-alkylaminen,    wie es durch Umwand  lung der bei der     Verseifung    von natürlichen  retten entstehenden Fettsäuren in die ent  sprechenden Amine unter Einführung von  zwei     Athylgruppen    in die     Aminogruppe    er  hältlich ist,

       Benzylbromid    einwirken     lässt.     Die Reaktion erfolgt zweckmässig unter Er  ,värmen und kann in Gegenwart eines     Ver-          dünnemittels,    wie Wasser oder Alkohol,  durchgeführt werden. Das bei der Reaktion  entstandene Produkt bildet eine zähe gelb  liche Masse, die in Wasser zu einer klaren    stark schäumenden Lösung löslich ist. Es  hat netzende und     desinfizierende    Eigenschaf  ten und soll für Desinfektionszwecke Ver  wendung finden.

      <I>Beispiel:</I>    Zu 240 Gewichtsteilen eines Gemisches  von     Diäthyl-alkylaminen,    wie es beispiels  weise durch katalytische Reduktion natür  licher Fette     bezw.    der daraus     erhältlichen          Fettsäureamide    bei Gegenwart von     Diäthyl-          amin        gewonnen    wird, fügt man 171 Ge  wichtsteile     Benzylbromid    und     erwärmt    das       Gemisch    unter Rühren 12     Stunden    im  Dampfbad.

   Nach dem Erkalten bildet das  Reaktionsprodukt eine zähe gelbliche Masse,  die sich klar in Wasser löst und dessen       wässrige    Lösungen stark schäumen.
