Description
<B>Zusatzpatent</B> zum Hauptpatent Nr. 177574. Verfahren zur Herstellung eines neuen quaternären Salzes. Es wurde gefunden, dass man ein neues quaternäres Salz ,erhält, wenn man a-Brom- stearinsäureanilid mit Pyridin umsetzt.
Das neue quaternäre Salz bildet eine zähe Masse, deren wässerige Lösung eine hohe Netzkraft besitzt und die als Textilhilfsstoff, insbesondere zum Wasserechtmachen von Färbungen, verwendet werden kann.
<I>Beispiel:</I> Man lässt eine Lösung von 60 Gewichts- teilen a-Bromstearinsäurebromid in etwa 100 Gewichtsteilen Benzol unter 20' allmählich in 27,5 Gewichtsteile Anilin, das mit etwa 1.00 Gewichtsteilen Benzol verdünnt ist, ein tropfen. Nach mehrstündigem Stehen wird das ausgefallene Reaktionsprodukt von der Mutterlauge durch Absaugen getrennt:, mit Benzol gewaschen und getrocknet.
Das durch Waschen mit Wasser von Anilinbromhydrat getrennte und wieder getrocknete a-Brom- stearinsäureanilid stellt ein fast farbloses Pulver dar. Zur Umwandlung in das quater- näre Pyridiniumsalz wird das Anilid mit der doppelten Menge Pyridin auf dem siedenden Wasserbad erhitzt, bis ein in Wasser lösliche Produkt resultiert. Man verdünnt .darauf mit Wasser und dampft zur Trockne ein, zweck mässig unter vermindertem Druck.
Es hinter bleibt eine zähe Masse, deren wässerige Lö sung beim Schütteln stark sehäumt.

<I> Example: </I> A solution of 60 parts by weight of α-bromostearic acid bromide in about 100 parts by weight of benzene is gradually dripped into 27.5 parts by weight of aniline diluted with about 1.00 parts by weight of benzene under 20 '. The α-bromostearic acid anilide, separated from aniline bromohydrate by washing with water and dried again, is an almost colorless powder.
