Description
<B>Zusatzpatent</B> zum Hauptpatent Nr. 177574. Verfahren zur Herstellung eines neuen quaternären Salzes. Es wurde gefunden, dass man ein neues quaternäres Salz erhält, wenn man a-Brom- laurinsäureanilid mit Pyridin umsetzt.
Das neue quaternäre Salz bildet eine zähe Masse, deren wässerige Lösung eine hohe Netzkraft besitzt und die als Textilhilfsstoff, insbesondere zum Wasserechtmachen von Färbungen, verwendet werden kann.
<I>Beispiel:</I> Man lässt eine Lösung von 68 Gewichts teilen a-Bromlaurin.säurebromid in etwa 60 Gewichtsteilen Benzol unter etwa 20' all mählich in 41 Gewichtsteile Anilin, das mit 70 Gewichtsteilen Benzol verdünnt ist, ein tropfen. Das nach dem Stehen über Nacht ausgefallene Reaktionsprodukt wird auf einer Nutsehe gesammelt, mit Benzol gewaschen und getrocknet. Das durch Waschen mit Wasser von Anilinbromhydrat getrennte und wieder getrocknete a-Bromlaurinsäureanilid stellt ein kaum befärbtes Pulver dar.
Zur Umwandlung in das quaternäre Py- ridiniumsalz wird das Anilid mit der dop pelten Menge Pyridin auf dem siedenden Wasserbad erhitzt, bis ein in Wasser lösliches Produkt resultiert. Man verdünnt darauf mit Wasser und dampft zur Trockne ein. Es hinterbleibt eine zähe Masse, deren wässerige Lösung beim Schütteln schäumt.
<B> Additional patent </B> to main patent no. 177574. Process for the production of a new quaternary salt. It has been found that a new quaternary salt is obtained if α-bromo lauric anilide is reacted with pyridine.
The new quaternary salt forms a viscous mass, the aqueous solution of which has a high wetting power and which can be used as a textile auxiliary, in particular for making dyeings waterfast.
<I> Example: </I> A solution of 68 parts by weight of a-bromolauric acid bromide in about 60 parts by weight of benzene under about 20 'is gradually dripped into 41 parts by weight of aniline which is diluted with 70 parts by weight of benzene. The reaction product which has precipitated out after standing overnight is collected on a groove, washed with benzene and dried. The α-bromo lauric acid anilide, separated from aniline bromohydrate by washing with water and dried again, is a hardly colored powder.
To convert it into the quaternary pyridinium salt, the anilide is heated with twice the amount of pyridine on a boiling water bath until a water-soluble product results. It is then diluted with water and evaporated to dryness. What remains is a viscous mass, the aqueous solution of which foams when shaken.
