Description
Verfahren zur Herstellung einer quaternären Ammoniumverbindung. Gegenstand des Hauptpatentes ist ein Verfahren zur Herstellung einer quaternären Ammoniumverbindung durch Einwirkenlassen von Benzylchlorid auf Diäthyldodecylamin.
Gegenstand des vorliegenden Patentes ist ein Verfahren zur Herstellung einer ähnlichen quaternären Ammoniumverbindung. Das Ver fahren ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man auf Dimethyloktadecylamin Benzylbromid ein wirken lässt. Die Reaktion erfolgt zweckmässig unter Erwärmen und kann in Gegenwart eines Verdünnemittels, wie Wasser oder Alkohol, durchgeführtwerden. Durch Umkristallisieren aus Benzol lässt sich das bei der Reaktion entstandene Dimethyl-oktadecyl-benzylammo- niumbromid gewinnen.
Man erhält ein farb loses Kristallmehl, das bei Erwärmen bei etwa 70 sintert, ohne einen scharfen Schmelzpunkt zu zeigen. Es löst sich klar in warmem Wasser zu einer stark schäumenden Lösung und hat netzende und desinfizierende Eigenschaften. Es soll vornehmlich für Desinfektionszwecke Anwendung finden.
<I>Beispiel:</I> 297 Gewichtsteile Dimethyl-oktadecyl- amin erwärmt man mit 171 Gewichtsteilen Benzylbromid 12 Stunden unter Rühren auf 100 . Nach dem Erkalten löst man das Reaktionsprodukt aus 4 Gewichtsteilen sie dendem Benzol um und erhält so das Dime- thyl-oktadecyl-benzylammoniumbromid als farbloses Kristallmehl. Die Substanz beginnt bei etwa 70 zu sintern, ohne einen scharfen Schmelzpunkt zu zeigen. Sie löst sich klar in warmem Wasser zu einer stark schäumen den Lösung.

The present patent relates to a process for the preparation of a similar quaternary ammonium compound. The process is characterized in that dimethyloctadecylamine benzyl bromide is allowed to act. The reaction is conveniently carried out with heating and can be carried out in the presence of a diluent, such as water or alcohol. The dimethyl-octadecyl-benzylammonium bromide formed in the reaction can be obtained by recrystallization from benzene.
A colorless crystal flour is obtained which sinters at about 70 when heated without showing a sharp melting point. It dissolves clearly in warm water to form a strong foaming solution and has wetting and disinfecting properties. It should primarily be used for disinfection purposes.
<I> Example: </I> 297 parts by weight of dimethyl-octadecylamine are heated with 171 parts by weight of benzyl bromide to 100 for 12 hours while stirring. After cooling, the reaction product is redissolved from 4 parts by weight of benzene and thus the dimethyl octadecyl benzylammonium bromide is obtained as colorless crystal flour. The substance begins to sinter at around 70 without showing a sharp melting point. It dissolves clearly in warm water to form a strongly foaming solution.
