Description
Verfahren zur Herstellung eines neuen Kondensationsproduktes. Es wurde gefunden, dass, man zu einem neuen Kondensationsprodukt gelangt, wenn man 1 Mol p-Stearoylamino-benzamid mit mindestens 2 Mol a,ä -Dichlordimethyläther und darauf mit Pyridin behandelt.
Das neue Kondensationsprodukt stellt eine gelblich gefärbte, weiche Masse dar, die sich in Wasser unter Bildung stark schäu mender Lösungen klar auflöst, welch letztere, insbesondere nach Zusatz von Natriumacetat, sich beim Erhitzen unter Abscheidung amor pher, unlöslicher Produkte zersetzen, wobei auch die Schaumfähigkeit allmählich ver schwindet. Das neue Produkt kann zum waschechten Wasserabstossend- und Weich machen von Textilien verwendet werden.
Beispiel: 3 Gewichtsteile p-Stearoylamino-benzamid werden mit 10 Gewichtsteilen sym. Dichlor- dimethyläther unter Rühren während 20 Stunden in einem Bad von 110-120' er- hitzt, worauf der grösste Teil des Ausgangs materials in Lösung gegangen ist.
Nach ,dem Abdestillieren - des überschüssigen Dichlor- dimethyläthers im Vakuum fügt man 10 Ge wichtsteile Pyridin hinzu und erwärmt wäh rend 20 Minuten unter Rühren auf dem Dampfbad. Nach dem Entfernen des über schüssigen Pyridins wird eine gelblich ge färbte, weiche Masse erhalten, welche in Wasser unter starkem Schäumen klar löslich ist.
Beim Erhitzen .der wässerigen Lösung, insbesondere auf Zusatz von Natriumacetat, verschwindet die Schaumfähigkeit allmäh lich, und es scheiden sich amorphe, un lösliche Zersetzungsprodukte ab.
Process for the production of a new condensation product. It has been found that a new condensation product is obtained if 1 mol of p-stearoylamino-benzamide is treated with at least 2 mol of α, α-dichlorodimethyl ether and then treated with pyridine.
The new condensation product is a yellowish-colored, soft mass that dissolves clearly in water to form strongly foaming solutions, which, in particular after the addition of sodium acetate, decompose when heated to deposit amorphous, insoluble products, with the foaming ability gradually disappears. The new product can be used to make textiles washable and water-repellent.
Example: 3 parts by weight of p-stearoylamino-benzamide are heated with 10 parts by weight of sym. Dichlorodimethyl ether with stirring for 20 hours in a 110-120 'bath, whereupon most of the starting material has dissolved.
After distilling off the excess dichloro dimethyl ether in vacuo, 10 parts by weight of pyridine are added and the mixture is heated on the steam bath while stirring for 20 minutes. After removing the excess pyridine, a yellowish colored, soft mass is obtained which is clearly soluble in water with strong foaming.
When the aqueous solution is heated, in particular with the addition of sodium acetate, the foamability gradually disappears and amorphous, insoluble decomposition products separate.
