Abstract

Patente de Invenção: <B>"MATERIAL DE ARMAZENAGEM PARA óXIDOS DE ENXOFRE"<D>. A presente invenção refere-se a um material de armazenagem para óxidos de enxofre que contém um espinélio de magnésio-alumínio(MgO.Al~ 2~O~ 3~) e pode ser usado como uma assim chamada armadilha para enxofre para remover os óxidos de enxofre dos gases de exaustão contendo oxigênio de processos industriais. Em particular, ele pode ser usado para a purificação catalítica do gás de exaustão de motores de combustão interna para remover os óxidos de enxofre do gás de exaustão de modo a proteger os catalisadores do gás de exaustão do envenenamento por enxofre. O material é caracterizado pelo fato de que ele exibe uma proporção molar de óxido de magnésio para óxido de alumínio na faixa de mais de 1,1:1 e que o óxido de magnésio presente em excesso estequiométrico é homogeneamente distribuído em forma altamente dispersa no material de armazenagem.
