Abstract
Patente de Invenção: <B>"PROCESSO PARA OPERAçãO DE UMA UNIDADE DE TRATAMENTO DE GáS DE EXAUSTãO CONTENDO UM RETENTOR DE ENXOFRE E UM CATALISADOR DE ARMAZENAMENTO DE óXIDO DE NITROGêNIO"<D>. A invenção refere-se a um processo para operação de uma unidade de tratamento de gás de exaustão para um motor de combustão interna que é operado com proporções de ar/combustível pobre normalizadas para a maior parte do período de operação. A unidade de tratamento do gás de exaustão contém um catalisador de armazenamento de óxidos de nitrogênio com uma janela de atividade <30>T~ NOX~ para o armazenamento de óxidos de nitrogênio a proporções de ar/combustível normalizadas maiores do que 1 e desprendimento dos óxidos de nitrogênio a proporções normalizadas de ar/combustível menores do que ou iguais a 1, e um retentor de enxofre localizado acima do catalisador de armazenamento de óxidos de nitrogênio, com uma temperatura de dessorção de enxofre T~ s, DeSOx~ acima da qual os sulfatos armazenados no retentor de enxofre são decompostos a proporções de ar/combustível normalizadas menores do que ou iguais a 1. Os óxidos de nitrogênio contidos no gás de exaustão são armazenamento no catalizador de armazenamento de óxidos de nitrogênio e os óxidos de enxofre são armazenados no retentor de enxofre a proporções de ar/combustível normalizadas maiores do que 1 e temperaturas de gás de exaustão T~ K~ dentro da janela de atividade T~ NOX~, em que ao mesmo tempo a temperatura do gás de exaustão fluxo logo acima do retentor de enxofre é menor do que sua temperatura de dessorção de enxofre T~ S, DeSOx~. Através da diminuição cíclica da proporção de ar/ combustível normalizada no gás de exaustão a menos do que 1, os óxidos de nitrogênio armazenados são desprendidos novamente do catalisador de armazenamento. (Conclusão de um ciclo de armazenamento). Após cada número pré-determinado N~ 1~, de ciclos de armazenamento de óxidos de nitrogênio, o enxofre é removido do retentor de enxofre. Isto ocorre elevando-se a temperatura do gás de exaustão fluxo acima do retentor de enxofre para acima de sua temperatura de dessorção de enxofre T~ S, DeSOx~ e também diminuindo a proproção de ar/combustível normalizada no gás de exaustão para menos do que 1.
