Abstract
"COMPOSIçãO QUE ADSORVE óXIDOS DE NITROGêNIO PRESENTES NOS GASES DE ESCAPAMENTO PRODUZIDOS POR UM MOTOR DE COMBUSTãO, PROCESSO PARA CONVERSãO DE óXIDOS DE NITROGêNIO PRESENTES NO GáS DE ESCAPAMENTO PRODUZIDO POR UM MOTOR DE COMBUSTãO, E, SISTEMA DE ESCAPAMENTO PARA CONVERSãO DE óXIDOS DE NITROGêNIO PRESENTES NO GáS DE ESCAPAMENTO PRODUZIDO POR UM MOTOR DE COMBUSTãO". Um processo e composição para conversão de óxidos de nitrogênio de gases de escapamento produzidos por um motor de combustão de combustão interna utilizam cobalto e pelo menos um metal alcalino ou metal alcalino terroso como componentes de um adsorvente. O processo envolve colocar o gás de escapamento em contato com um adsorvente que absorve os óxidos de nitrogênio em condições de queima pobre e reduzir recorrentemente a concentração de oxigênio do gás de escapamento. Durante esses períodos de concentração reduzida de oxigênio, os óxidos de nitrogênio são então dessorvidos e reduzidos a nitrogênio, reduzindo, portanto, a concentração de óxidos de nitrogênio no gás de escapamento.
