Abstract

Un procedimiento y composicion para la conversion de oxidos de nitrogeno presentes en los gases de salida producidos. por un motor de combustion interna, que utiliza cobalto y al menos un metal alcalino o un metal alcalino terreo como un componente de un adsorbente. El procedimiento se refiere a poner en contacto al gas de salida con un adsorbente el cual absorbe los oxidos de nitrogeno en condiciones de quemado pobre y que reduce recurrentemente la concentracion de oxigeno, del gas de salida. Durante tales periodos de la concentracion del oxigeno reducido, y de los oxidos de nitrogeno luego son des-absorbidos y reducidos a nitrogeno, con lo cual se reduce la concentracion de los oxidos de nitrogeno en el gas de salida. La composicion del gas absorbente comprende y el soporte del oxido y al menos dos componente cargados sobre el soporte y que contiene cobalto y al menos un metal alcalino o metal alcalino terreo. La composicion demuestra la actividad mejorada a temperaturas mas elevadas y la estabilidad termica mejorada.
