Abstract

"PROCESSO PARA A PREPARAçãO DE POLI(TEREFTALATO DE TRIMETILENO)". A presente invenção se refere a um processo para a preparação de poli(tereftalato de trimetileno), o qual compreende: a) a colocação de ácido tereftálico em contato com 1,3-propanodiol na presença de um catalisador de estanho orgânico para formar um monómero de tereftalato de bis(3-hidroxipropila); e b) a polimerização do dito monómero na presença de catalisador de policondensação de titanato orgânico, para se obter o poli(tereftalato de trimetileno). A presente invenção se refere a um processo para a preparação de poli(tereftalato de trimetileno) que contém menos de 1,6% molar de DPG, sendo que o dito processo compreende a colocação de ácido tereftálico em contato com uma proporção molar de 1,6 a 1 a 2:1 de 1,3-propanodiol na presença de 20 a 120 ppm (como estanho), em peso do poli(tereftalato de trimetileno), de um catalisador de estanho orgânico, para formar um monómero de bis(tereftalato de 3-hidroxipropila), e a polimerização do dito monómero, para se obter o poli(tereftalato de trimetileno). A presente invenção também se refere ao poli(tereftalato de trimetileno) produzido pelos processos.
