I N T R O D U C T I O N
DESCRIPTION
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

I N T R O D U C T I O N
In cameras, both photographic and cinematographic, it is commonly used lenses called "wide angle" (45 to 50); the downside to these lenses is that the elusive ones are exaggerated in the perspective. In addition, these lenses are very expensive.
A shooting system consists of compressing the image and decompressing it during projection at the expense of the sharpness of the projected image.
An optical principle states that. All the light rays picked up by an objective cross at the optical center thereof.
From this principle it follows that an objective animated by a rotary movement around this optical center and in the plane containing the optical axis, the image formed by said objective remains fixed. If we place behind the objective, and at the focal length of the latter, a sensitive film bent perpendicular to the optical axis in a radius equal to the focal distance, we obtain on this film an image reproducing all objects located in the field that can be embraced by the objective by rotating on its optical center. The sharpness of the image and the homogeneity of the exposure are obtained by admitting the image on the film through an appropriate window whose circular movement is integral with that of the lens.
Still according to the invention, the objective is capable of ac-. complete around its optical center a complete revolution so as to capture the image of all objects in the field of the lens around the device.
It is easily understandable that this lens makes it possible to produce cameras whose applications and field of action are virtually unlimited.
We will therefore limit ourselves to briefly describing the production of a camera and a camera.
The description and drawings are given by way of non-limiting example, the invention covering all embodiments coming within the spirit of the claims below.
FIG. I is a schematic horizontal section of a camera made according to the invention.
Figure 2 is a vertical section of a camera at 360 taken along line AA of Figure 3.
Figure 3 is a horizontal section along line BB of Figure 2.
DESCRIPTION
In the cinematographic apparatus, the sensitive strip unwinds horizontally so as to take the various images along the length of said strip. This length will be determined by the possibilities of the projection apparatus. It is recommended to project the image in the vertical position and to make it make a quarter turn by means of prisms or by any other known means, in order to lay the image properly on the screen.
Objective 5 makes a complete revolution for each image. The film I is centered on a fixed corridor 4, by rollers 2 and 3, or in a rotating corridor whose radius of curvature is equal to the focal length of the lens. The objective 5 is located on an axis 8 whose pivoting center is just on the vertical passing through the optical center of the objective. The displacement of the film I is done while the objective 5
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
completes the portion of circumference outside the arc of a circle reserved for the opening 6a.
The focusing is achieved by moving the film I relative to the lens 5 or by moving the pivot axis relative to the film so that the lens always pivots on its optical center 8.L The opening 6a of the housing 6, through which the image is printed on the film I, is adjustable in width in order to obtain a longer or shorter exposure time. In addition, a cam device, ramp or the like, controls the total closing of the opening 6a on each passage thereof to the front of the apparatus so as not to let light enter through the objective which is at this moment turned towards the film I. The shutter is therefore superfluous in this device.
In order to correct the distortions of the horizontal lines of perspective, provision is made to provide the front of the device with a fixed correction lens.
In the case of using a flattened lens and a very wide aperture, we obtain "blur-sharp" in the image.
The same camera can be fitted at the front of the body with a long focal length lens in which case the rotating lens is removed and the rotating body acts as a shutter.
According to the invention and in the case of a photographic camera, the device comprises in the center an objective II pivoting on its optical center. This objective is fixed on a box 12 which contains a film magazine 14. This magazine moves at the same time as the objective, always remaining behind the latter and traversing the circumference of two toothed circular plates 16 and 'Sa, Deux press rollers 13 and 13a force the perforations of the film to engage on the teeth of these plates.
The circular movement of the housing 12, which brings with it the objective II and the film magazine 14, causes, due to the engagement of the film on the teeth of the fixed plates, the unwinding and winding of the film. one side of the store. An opening 18 is made in the housing 12. During its contact with the fixed plates 16 and 16a, between the rollers 13 and 13a, the film receives the image through the opening 18. This film is brought in front of said opening without undergoing linear movement. This way of impressing the film allows the housing 12 to be moved at any angle which can range from C to 36C.
The disadvantage of this mode of shooting, because of the amplitude of the angle, is to distort the horizontal lines, but this is eliminated by the judicious placement of a suitable curved lens 19, fixed with respect to to the box 12 and which will be provided around the entire periphery of the device.
According to the invention, the same principle applied to a similar apparatus mounted on a suitable device makes it possible to obtain an uninterrupted view of the entire periphery of this object. This view will constitute the integral development of the photographed object.
