Abstract

Un método para generar una solución de eluato de litio a partir de un recurso líquido, que comprende usar un reactor de intercambio iónico que comprende un tanque y partículas de intercambio iónico, en el que las partículas de intercambio iónico absorben selectivamente litio de un recurso líquido y eluyen una solución de eluato de litio cuando se tratan con una solución ácida después de absorber iones de litio de dicho recurso líquido, una o más trampas de partículas, y provisión para modular el pH de dicho recurso líquido; hacer fluir un recurso líquido hacia dicho reactor de intercambio iónico, permitiendo así que dichas partículas de intercambio iónico absorban selectivamente el litio de dicho recurso líquido; tratar dichas partículas de intercambio iónico con una solución ácida para producir dicha solución de eluato de litio; y pasar dicha solución de eluato de litio a través de dichas trampas de partículas para recoger dicha solución de eluato de litio, donde dichas trampas de partículas están configuradas para retener las partículas de intercambio iónico en el tanque mientras permite que los flujos de dicho recurso líquido, dicha solución de eluato de litio, agua o dicha solución ácida entren y salgan del tanque, o recircular las partículas de intercambio iónico en el tanque mientras se permite que los flujos de dicho recurso líquido, dicha solución de eluato de litio, agua o dicha solución ácida entren y salgan del tanque.
