Abstract
Un proceso para el tratamiento de un material que contiene litio, comprendiendo el proceso los pasos de: (i) preparar una solución de proceso a partir del material que contiene litio; (ii) pasar la solución del proceso del paso (ii) a una serie de pasos de remoción de impurezas, uno de los cuales es un paso de inyección de HCl, proporcionando así una solución de cloruro de litio sustancialmente purificada; y (iii) pasar la solución de cloruro de litio purificada del paso (ii) a un paso de electrólisis produciendo así una solución de hidróxido de litio; y (iv) carbonatar la solución de hidróxido de litio producida en el paso (iii) pasando el dióxido de carbono comprimido a través de la solución, produciendo así un precipitado de carbonato de litio.
