Abstract

Una tableta de liberacion controlada comprende un ingrediente activo que comprende betahistina o una sal de la misma aceptable para uso farmacéutico, incorporada en al menos un compuesto graso; al menos un polímero hidrofílico capaz de absorber agua; y excipientes adecuados. Betahistina es un vasodilatador activo usado para administracion oral en la terapia de vértigo. La preparacion de una forma farmacéutica con un perfil de liberacion adecuado de betahistina reduciría la cantidad de administraciones diarias a solamente una, mientras que se mantendría constante la concentracion del ingrediente activo dentro del rango de dosis terapéuticas. Un proceso para la preparacion de las tabletas de liberacion controlada comprende los pasos de: a) incorporar dicho ingrediente activo de la misma, en al menos un compuesto graso mediante granulacion por fusion; b) mezclar el granulado del paso a) con al menos un compuesto hidrofílico y excipientes adecuados; c) someter a compresion la mezcla del paso b).
