Abstract
Se describe un ánodo inerte de cerametal para la produccion electrolítica de metales tales como aluminio. El ánodo inerte comprende una fase de cerámicaque tiene la formula: NixFe2yMzO(3y+x+z)+gamma, donde M es por lo menos un metal seleccionado de Z n, Co, Al, Li, Cu, Ti, V, Cr, Zr, Nb, Ta, W, Mb, Hf y tierrasraras, preferiblemente Zn y/o Cu; x es desde 0,1 hasta 0,99; y es desde 0,0001 hasta 0,9; z es desde 0,0001 hasta 0,5; y gamma es desde 0 hasta aproximadamente0,3. Las composiciones cerámic as preferidas comprenden Fe2O3, NiO y ZnO o CoO. El ánodo de cerametal comprende también una fase metálica tal como Cu, Ag, Pd,Pt, Au, Rh, Ru, Ir y/o Os. La fase de metal preferida comprende Cu y Ag. Los ánodos inertes a cerametal pueden usarse para células de reduccion electrolíticapara la produccion de aluminio de pureza comercial, así como también otros metales.
