Abstract
Prikazani pronalazak se odnosi na postupak za izvodjenje sledece stereoselektivne redukcije jednog racemskog tetralona: i obuhvata: dovodjenje u dodir jedinjenja formule (I) sa jednim mikroorganizmom, ili enzimskim sistemom za redukovanje koji je u stanju da izvrsi predmetno redukovanje a koji sadrzi jedan enzim izveden iz pomenutog mikroorganizma i jedan ko-faktor za pomenuti enzim, i inkubaciju dobijene mesavine pod uslovima dovoljnim da se dobije (4R) tetralol formule (II) a ostavlja u sustini nereagovani (4S) tetralon formule (V) ili "hiralni tetralon". Hiralni se tetralon moze koristiti u sintezi sertralina. Predmetni postupak dalje sadrzi, ako se zeli, razdvajanje (4S) tetralona formule (V) od (4R) tetralola formule (II). (4R) tetralol moze se potom oksidisati da bi se dobilo jedinjenje formule (I) pa se predmetna mikrobska redukcija moze ponoviti da bi se dobilo jos vise zeljenog (4S) tetralona formule (V).
