Abstract
Description
フロントロアカバー30は、図3に示すように、フロントカバー21の下部で前輪18の前輪18の上部の側方から後方に配置されている。このフロントロアカバー30は、前輪18の旋回を許容するように車体方向を向かって凹む湾曲面にて形成される対向面30aを備えている。また、フロントロアカバー30は、両側面の前縁部30f(図4参照)がアンダサイドカバー24の前縁24fに接続され、後端縁37eが、アンダカバー25(図2参照)の前端縁25fに接続されている。
これは、図8(a)に示す断面においては、湾曲部36の車幅両端側を含む垂直断面30mの形状は、湾曲部36の最も車両前方の前面部36fが他の部分よりも前方に位置している。すなわち、垂直線PLに対して、垂直断面30mの上下方向のラインが、上端側が下端側よりも車体後方に位置する後傾形状となっている。一方、湾曲部36の車幅中央部分を含む垂直断面30nの形状は、図8(b)に示すごとく、湾曲部36の前面部36fよりもその上端側が車体前方に位置する前傾形状となっている。
このように、対向面30aは、後部壁面形状において、左右両端側が走行風を溜め易い形状となっている一方、中央が走行風を下方に流動させやすい形状となっている。
アンダカバー25は、その前端縁25fを、取り付けネジ81を介してフロントロアカバー30の後端縁37eに接続・固定されている。また、アンダカバー25の左右両側端25s,25sは、アンダサイドカバー24の下方縁部24eと接続されている。アンダカバー25の後端縁部25eは、パワーユニット55の取り付け用の一対のリンク57,57の前方側に位置している。また、アンダカバー25は、ロアフレーム53に対して、取り付けネジ80を介して略水平に固定されている。このアンダカバー25の内側には、例えば、燃料タンク58などが配置されている。
また、図10に示すように、ユニット下端部55dは、取り付け部55bも含めた部分がアンダカバー25よりも車体下方に位置している。
自動二輪車1の走行によって、フロントカバー21および前輪18の領域を流れる走行風は、基本的には、ボディカバー20表面を、車体前方から後方に向かって流れる。ここで、前輪18の周囲を流れる走行風fwは、フロントロアカバー30の対向面30aに沿って流れる。この走行風fwは、平面視において、例えば、図6に示すように、前輪18の左右両側から前方上側部31,31に沿って中央の膨出部34に向かって流れが集まるように流れる。また、走行風fwは、側面視において、例えば、図7に示すように、前輪18の側方を流れる。また、走行風fwには、前方上側部31,31における車体下方に向いて捻れた壁面によって、若干下向きの流れが生じる。また、前輪18の上方側のフロントカバー21の下方側を通過した走行風fwにおいては、メインフレーム51の前面にも当たり、下方に向かう(対向面30aに沿った)流れも生じる。
また、本実施形態においては、開口部40から一対のリンク57が突出して後方に沿って延びているので、アンダカバー25に沿って流れる走行風fwは、リンク57にガイドされて車体後方に流動する。
例えば、上記実施形態では、湾曲部36の曲率半径を、車幅方向中央から車幅方向端部に向かって徐々に小さく形成したが、これに限定されず、例えば、複数段に段階的小さくするように形成されてもよい。

- ヘッドパイプ(15)の前方から側方にかけて車体前部(10a)を覆うフロントカバー(21)と、
前記フロントカバー(21)下方の車体前面を覆い、前輪(18)の上方から後方へ連続して前記前輪(18)と対面する湾曲した対向面(30a)を有するフロントロアカバー(30)と、
前記フロントロアカバー(30)よりも車体後方で,パワーユニット(55)よりも前方の車体下面を覆うアンダカバー(25)と、を有するボディカバー(20)を備える自動二輪車(1)のボディカバー構造において、
前記フロントロアカバー(30)の下端部(30e)は、湾曲部(36)を有して車体後方へ向かって延出されて前記アンダカバー(25)に接続され、
前記湾曲部(36)は、車幅方向中央における曲率半径を、車幅方向端部における曲率半径よりも大きく形成されることを特徴とする自動二輪車(1)のボディカバー構造。 - 前記アンダカバー(25)の後端縁部(25e)は、前記パワーユニット(55)のユニット下端部(55d)と前記ボディカバー(20)の下方縁部(24e)との間で開口部(40)を形成することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の自動二輪車(1)のボディカバー構造。
- 前記パワーユニット(55)の一部が前記アンダカバー(25)よりも車体下方に位置していることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の自動二輪車(1)のボディカバー構造。
- 前記フロントロアカバー(30)の下部(30c)には、車幅中央側が車幅外側よりも車体後方へ段差部(38a)を有して凹む凹部(38)を備えることを特徴とする請求項1~3の何れか1項に記載の自動二輪車(1)のボディカバー構造。
- 前記フロントロアカバー(30)の上部(30b)には、車両幅方向中央において車体前方に突出して、前記ヘッドパイプ(15)から車体下方且後方に向かって延びるメインフレーム(51)の少なくとも一部を収容する膨出部(34)が設けられていることを特徴とする請求項1~4の何れか1項に記載の自動二輪車(1)のボディカバー構造。
- 前記フロントロアカバー(30)において、
前記湾曲部(36)を含む車幅両端側の垂直断面線(30m)が、前記湾曲部(36)の前面部(36f)よりも上方側を車体後方に位置する後傾形状に形成されるとともに、
前記湾曲部(36)を含む車幅中央の垂直断面線(30n)が、前記湾曲部(36)の前面部(36f)よりも上方側を車体前方に位置する前傾形状に形成されることを特徴とする請求項1~5の何れか1項に記載の自動二輪車(1)のボディカバー構造。
