Definitions
- the present invention relates to a two-tank oil pan having an inner tank and an outer tank.
- the oil whose temperature has risen due to the lubrication of the internal combustion engine flows down along the inner wall of the cylinder block. And if the oil which flows down in this way flows into an outer tank, the quantity of the oil returned to an inner tank will reduce. Therefore, the temperature rise of the oil in the inner tank is delayed.
- An object of the present invention is to provide an oil pan capable of suppressing the oil flowing down along the inner wall of a cylinder block from flowing into the outer tank and improving the temperature rise performance of the oil stored in the inner tank. .
- the outer tank is provided with a resin separator that partitions the inside of the oil pan into an inner tank and an outer tank, a plate, and the plate, and is in close contact with the inner wall of the oil pan.
- a two-tank oil pan is provided, which includes an elastically deformable seal member that seals the plate, and the plate and the separator are fixed to each other.
- the seal member when the separator is assembled to the oil pan, the seal member is elastically deformed and closely contacts the inner wall of the oil pan, so that the outer tank is sealed. Therefore, it is possible to suppress the oil flowing down along the inner wall of the cylinder block from flowing into the outer tank, and to increase the temperature rise performance of the oil stored in the inner tank.
- the seal member may not be directly attached to the separator.
- a sealing member that seals the outer tub is attached to a plate that is small in size and easy to handle, and the plate is fixed to the separator. Therefore, the seal member can be easily disposed on the separator.
- the separator has a convex portion
- the plate has an insertion hole through which the convex portion is inserted.
- a rubber lip as a sealing member for the above-mentioned two-tank oil pan.
- the rubber lip is easily elastically deformed according to the shape of the inner wall of the outer tub, and the adhesion to the inner wall is enhanced. Therefore, the sealing performance of the outer tub is further improved.
- the sealing performance of the outer tank can be improved, and the oil temperature rise performance is further improved Can do.
- Sectional drawing which shows schematic structure of an oil pan. Sectional drawing which shows typically the flow of the oil of an oil pan.
- FIG. 1 a crankshaft 2 and an oil dropping passage 3 are provided in a cylinder block 1 of the internal combustion engine.
- An oil pan 4 is assembled to the lower part of the cylinder block 1.
- the oil pan 4 has a shape such that the interval between the opposed inner walls 10 becomes narrower at the lower part.
- a box-shaped separator 5 that opens upward is assembled.
- the separator 5 is made of resin.
- the inside of the oil pan 4 is partitioned into an inner tank 6 and an outer tank 7 by a separator 5.
- the inner tank 6 is provided with an oil strainer 8 for pumping up the stored oil.
- the inner tub 6 and the outer tub 7 are communicated with each other through a communication hole 9 provided on the side wall of the separator 5.
- the separator 5 is provided with a flange 11 extending outward from the upper end of the separator 5, that is, toward the inner wall 10 of the oil pan 4 over the entire circumference in the circumferential direction.
- a plurality of convex portions 12 are provided on the upper surface of the flange 11 at intervals in the circumferential direction.

- Part of the oil scatters as the crankshaft 2 rotates, flows down along the inner wall of the cylinder block 1, and returns to the oil pan 4.
- the outer tub 7 is sealed by the rubber lip 14 attached to the plate 13. Therefore, as shown in FIG. 2, the oil that has flowed down along the inner wall of the cylinder block 1 does not flow into the outer tank 7 but flows into the inner tank 6. As a result, the temperature of the oil in the inner tank 6 quickly rises.
- the rubber lip 14 may not be directly attached to the separator 5.
- a rubber lip 14 that seals the outer tub 7 is attached to a plate 13 that is smaller in size than the separator 5 and easy to handle.
- the plate 13 is fixed to the separator 5 by heat caulking. Therefore, the rubber lip 14 can be easily disposed at a desired position of the separator.
- the rubber lip 14 When assembling the separator 5 with the plate 13 fixed to the oil pan 4, the rubber lip 14 is inserted into the oil pan 4, and the rubber lip 14 of the plate 13 is elastically deformed so that the rubber lip 14 is attached to the inner wall of the oil pan 4. 10 closely.
- the oil pan 4 has a shape in which the interval between the opposed inner walls 10 becomes narrower toward the lower part. Therefore, the rubber lip 14 comes into close contact with the inner wall 10 of the oil pan 4 by pressing the separator 5 toward the bottom of the oil pan 4. As a result, the separator 5 can be assembled to the oil pan 4 while sealing the outer tub 7.
- the oil flowing down along the inner wall of the cylinder block 1 can be prevented from flowing into the outer tank 7 and the temperature rise of the oil stored in the inner tank 6 can be improved.
- a rubber lip 14 for sealing the outer tub 7 is attached to a plate 13 that is smaller in size than the separator 5 and easy to handle. The plate 13 is fixed to the separator 5. Therefore, the rubber lip 14 can be easily disposed on the separator 5.
- the plate 13 is fixed to the separator 5 by heat caulking. Therefore, the rubber lip 14 can be disposed at a desired position of the separator 5 and the operation is easy.
- the rubber lip 14 that seals the outer tub 7 is easily elastically deformed according to the shape of the inner wall 10 of the oil pan 4. Therefore, the adhesiveness between the rubber lip 14 and the inner wall 10 can be improved, and the sealing performance of the outer tub 7 can be further improved.
- the rubber lip 14 is attached over the perimeter of the circumferential direction.
- the rubber lip 14 is in close contact with the inner wall 10 of the oil pan 4. Therefore, the sealing performance of the outer tub 7 can be enhanced, and the temperature rise performance of the oil can be further enhanced.
- the said one Embodiment can also be changed and implemented as follows.
- the rubber lip 14 is attached to the outer periphery of the plate 13, but the attachment manner is not limited to this as long as the outer tub 7 can be sealed.
- -Plate 13 does not necessarily need to be ring-shaped, for example, a plate may be constituted by a plurality of members, and a rubber lip may be attached to each member.
- the rubber lip is employed as the sealing member for sealing the outer tub 7, but other sealing members such as liquid packing can also be used. Even with such a configuration, the same effects as in the above (1) and (2) can be obtained.
- resin is exemplified as the material of the plate 13, but the plate 13 may be formed of other materials such as metal.
- the separator 5 and the plate 13 are fixed by heat caulking.
- the plate 13 may be mechanically caulked and fixed to the separator 5. Good.
- the separator 5 and the plate 13 are caulked and fixed, but the fixing mode of the separator 5 and the plate 13 is not limited to this.
- an adhesive may be applied between the separator 5 and the plate 13 to bond them, or these may be fixed by welding.

Abstract
