Description

紫外線感知シート、その製造方法、および紫外線感知方法
 本発明は、紫外線感知シート、その製造方法、および紫外線感知方法に関する。
 紫外線量の測定は、様々な分野で使用されており、例えば、紫外線硬化樹脂を硬化させるための紫外線照射装置における被照射物に照射される紫外線量の測定は、紫外線光量計を用いて測定されている。
 紫外線光量計としては、半導体の光起電力を利用した装置が一般的に知られているが、高価であり、また持ち運びも不便である。安価で簡便なものとしてはフォトクロミック材料を用いたカード状のものが知られているが、これは紫外線により可逆的に変色するものであり、照射中の紫外線強度は知ることができるが、紫外線の蓄積照射量を知ることはできない。
 蓄積照射量を測定する方法として、例えば特許文献1では、変色材料を利用した方法を提案している。
 また、紫外線量の測定として、感光紙を使用して定量化する方法(特許文献2参照)やロイコ染料の酸化発色を利用した方法(特許文献3参照)が提案されている。

 しかし、特許文献1では、感度が不十分であり、定量には向かないという問題がある。
 特許文献2では、別途測定装置が必要であり測定が煩雑である、発色の階調性がなく定量性を簡便に判断できない、紫外線量測定後の外光の影響を受けやすく測定結果の取り扱い性に乏しい、といった問題がある。
 特許文献3では、発色の階調性がなく定量性を簡便に判断できない、紫外線量測定後の外光の影響を受けやすく測定結果の画像保存性に乏しい、といった問題がある。
 さらに、紫外線硬化を用いた製造プロセスでの紫外線照射線量は100mJ/cm2~1000mJ/cm2が最も広く使われているが、それに適した範囲の測定には向かなかった。
 本発明は、上述した問題を解決するためになされたものであり、広い面積での紫外線照射量の測定が簡便であり、1mJ/cm2~1000mJ/cm2の範囲における紫外線量測定に優れた紫外線感知シート、その製造方法、および紫外線感知方法を提供することにある。
 本発明者らは、高圧水銀ランプで照射した際、波長365nmで測定した時における積算照度が1mJ/cm2以上10mJ/cm2未満の範囲における反射濃度変化ΔD1、10mJ/cm2以上100mJ/cm2未満の範囲における反射濃度変化ΔD2、および100mJ/cm2以上1000mJ/cm2以下の範囲における反射濃度変化ΔD3がそれぞれ0.2以上であれば、紫外線の積算照度に応じて連続的に発色させることが可能であることを知見し、本発明を完成するに至った。
 前記課題を解決するための手段は、下記<1>の手段であり、好ましくは、下記<2>~<13>の手段である。
<1>高圧水銀ランプで照射した際、波長365nmで測定した時における積算照度が1mJ/cm2以上10mJ/cm2未満の範囲における反射濃度変化ΔD1、10mJ/cm2以上100mJ/cm2未満の範囲における反射濃度変化ΔD2、および100mJ/cm2以上1000mJ/cm2以下の範囲における反射濃度変化ΔD3がそれぞれ0.2以上である、紫外線感知シート。
<2>光酸化剤と前記光酸化剤によって酸化発色可能なロイコ染料とを内包したカプセルを有し、前記光酸化剤と前記ロイコ染料の質量比が、0.2~1.0:1である紫外線感知層を有し、前記紫外線感知層の表面積1m2当たりの前記ロイコ染料の量が0.1~1.0gである、<1>に記載の紫外線感知シート。
<3>光酸化剤が、波長350nmにおける光酸化剤のモル吸光係数εが2000以下であり、かつ、波長250nmにおけるεが10000以上である、<1または2に記載の紫外線感知シート。
<4>カプセルがマイクロカプセルである、<1>~<3>のいずれかに記載の紫外線感知シート。
<5>ロイコ染料がアミノアリールメタンである、<1>~<4>のいずれかに記載の紫外線感知シート。

 本発明によれば、広い面積での紫外線照射量の測定が簡便であり、1mJ/cm2~1000mJ/cm2の範囲における紫外線量測定に優れた紫外線感知シート、その製造方法、および紫外線感知方法を提供することができる。

 以下において、本発明の内容について詳細に説明する。尚、本明細書において「~」とはその前後に記載される数値を下限値および上限値として含む意味で使用される。
<紫外線感知シート>
 本発明の紫外線感知シートは、高圧水銀ランプで照射した際、波長365nmで測定した時における積算照度が1mJ/cm2以上10mJ/cm2未満の範囲における反射濃度変化ΔD1、10mJ/cm2以上100mJ/cm2未満の範囲における反射濃度変化ΔD2、および100mJ/cm2以上1000mJ/cm2以下の範囲における反射濃度変化ΔD3がそれぞれ0.2以上であることを特徴とする。
 これらを満たす構成とすることにより、紫外線に感度良く反応し、紫外線を検知することができる。特に、本発明のシートを高圧水銀ランプで照射した際、本発明のシートは、波長365nmで測定した時の照射量に応じて発色の程度が異なるため、紫外線の照射量を効果的に感知できる。ここでいう、高圧水銀ランプとは、例えば、ウシオ電機製の高圧UVランプをいう。図1は、本発明の発色の程度を示す概念図であり、縦軸が発色の程度の対数を横軸が紫外線の積算照度に対応する。図1から明らかなとおり、本発明では、紫外線の積算照度に応じて連続的に発色させることができ、紫外線を感度良く感知できる。本発明では、特に、紫外線の積算照度が1~1000mJ/cm2の範囲での紫外線を効果的に感知できる。
 なお、本発明の光源としては、高圧水銀ランプだけでなくその他の光源を使用することができ、例えば、メタルハライドランプ、UV-LEDランプ、低圧水銀ランプ、UVレーザーなどを使用してもよい。
 本発明のシートは、波長365nmで測定した時における積算照度が1mJ/cm2以上10mJ/cm2未満の範囲における反射濃度変化ΔD1、10mJ/cm2以上100mJ/cm2未満の範囲における反射濃度変化ΔD2、および100mJ/cm2以上1000mJ/cm2以下の範囲における反射濃度変化ΔD3がそれぞれ0.2以上であることが好ましく、それぞれ、0.25以上であることがより好ましい。上限については特に制限はないが、0.4以下であることが好ましい。例えば、ΔD1が0.21~0.36mJ/cm2、ΔD2が0.22~0.29mJ/cm2、ΔD3が0.21~0.29mJ/cm2である。
 反射濃度変化とは、所定の積算照度の紫外線を照射する前と照射した後との色の変化量のことをいい、具体的には、反射濃度計(X-Rite310、X-Rite社製)で測定することができる。
 反射濃度変化ΔD1~ΔD3を上記範囲内となるようにすることで、紫外線の積算照度に応じて連続的に発色させることができ、紫外線を感度良く感知できる。
 このような効果的な紫外線の感知は、紫外線感知層によって達成される。本発明における紫外線感知層は、光酸化剤と前記光酸化剤によって酸化発色可能なロイコ染料とを内包したカプセルを有し、前記光酸化剤と前記ロイコ染料の質量比が、0.2~1.0:1であり、紫外線感知層の表面積1m2当たりの前記ロイコ染料の量が0.1~1.0gであることを特徴とする。このような構成とすることにより、紫外線量の増加に応じて光酸化剤から発生するラジカルの量も増加し、これに伴いラジカルと反応するロイコ染料の量も増えることで紫外線照射量に応じて発色濃度が濃くなり、紫外線をより階調性をもって感知できる。
 本発明の紫外線感知のメカニズムについて、図2および図3に基づいて説明する。尚、本発明がこれらの図面に限定されるものではないことは言うまでもない。
 図2は、本発明で用いるカプセルの一例の概略図である。図2に示すように、カプセル11内には光酸化剤12とロイコ染料13とが内包されている。図3は、光酸化剤とロイコ染料との反応スキームの一例を示した図である。
 図2に示す通り、紫外線が照射されるとカプセル11内の光酸化剤12が紫外線hνを吸収する。紫外線hνを吸収した光酸化剤12は活性化され(活性化した光酸化剤12a)、ラジカルが発生する(図3(a))。発生したラジカルは、ロイコ染料13と反応(酸化)し、ラジカルと反応したロイコ染料が発色する(図3(b))。照射される紫外線量が増加すると、光酸化剤12から発生するラジカルの量も増加し、発生したラジカルと反応するロイコ染料13の量も増加する。本発明の紫外線感知シートは、例えば、光酸化剤とロイコ染料の質量比が所定量となるように、かつ、ロイコ染料の量が所定量となるように配合することによって、図1に示すような紫外線照射量に応じて発色濃度を連続的に変化させることができ、目視にて紫外線量を判断することが可能となる。
 光酸化剤、ロイコ染料の具体例や配合量の詳細は後述する。
<<紫外線感知シートの構成>>
 次に、本発明の紫外線感知シートの構成について、説明する。図4は、本発明の紫外線感知シートの一例を示した模式断面図である。本発明の紫外線感知シート1は、紫外線感知層10、紫外線感知層10を支持する支持体30を有し、必要に応じて支持体30と紫外線感知層10との間に反射層20を有していてもよい。紫外線感知層10は、図2に一例を示したような光酸化剤およびロイコ染料を内包したカプセルが分散されている。
 また、本発明の紫外線感知シートは、図5に一例を示した態様であってもよい。本態様の紫外線感知シート1は、紫外線感知層10、紫外線感知層10を支持する支持体30を有し、必要に応じて支持体30の紫外線感知層10を有する面の反対側の面に反射層20を有していてもよい。反射層20は、支持体30側と反対側の面に光沢層40を有していてもよく、また、密着層50を介して支持体上に形成されていてもよい。
 図5の態様のように、支持体30の紫外線感知層10を有する面の反対側の面に反射層20を有することで、低湿環境下でのカール、例えば、4隅の浮き上がりの高さをより効果的に抑制できる。
 また、図5の態様のように、反射層上に光沢層を形成させることで、表裏の視認性を向上させることができる。
 ここで、本発明の紫外線感知シートは、その厚さが200μm以下のフィルムであってもよいし、200μmを超えるシートであっても良い。本発明の紫外線感知シートの厚さは、例えば、5~250μmとすることができ、さらには、25~150μmとすることができる。フィルム等を巻き取ったロール状のものであってもよい。
 以下、各層について詳細に説明する。
<<<紫外線感知層>>>
 本発明で用いる紫外線感知層は、光酸化剤と前記光酸化剤によって酸化発色可能なロイコ染料とを所定の割合で内包したカプセルを有する。本発明で用いる紫外線感知層は、紫外線感知層の表面積1m2当たりの前記ロイコ染料の量が0.1~1.0gであり、好ましくは0.15~0.8gであり、さらに好ましくは0.2~0.5gである。このような範囲とすることにより、より効果的に紫外線の照射量に対応して感度良く発色させることができる。カプセルの詳細については、後述する。
 紫外線感知層には、通常は、上記カプセルを層内に分散させるためのバインダーを有し、必要に応じてその他の添加剤を有していてもよい。バインダーとしては、ポリビニルアルコール、メチルセルロース、カルボキシメチルセルロース、ヒドロキシプロピルセルロース、アラビアゴム、ゼラチン、ポリビニルピロリドン、カゼイン、スチレン-ブタジエンラテックス、アクリロニトリル-ブタジエンラテックス、ポリ酢酸ビニル、ポリアクリル酸エステル、エチシン-酢酸ビニル共重合体等の各種エマルジョンを用いることができる。使用量は固形分換算して0.1g/m2~5g/m2である。
 紫外線感知層には、カプセルに内包されるロイコ染料および光酸化剤の他に、増感剤、還元剤、酸化防止剤、界面活性剤などが内包されていてもよい。増感剤、還元剤、界面活性剤などは、特開平1-207741号公報の第9頁左下欄~第10頁左上欄、特開2004-233614号公報の段落0038~0039、0048~0059記載を参酌でき、これらの内容は本明細書に組み込まれる。
 紫外線感知層の厚さは、特に定めるものではないが、3~30μmであることが好ましく、10~20μmであることがより好ましく、12~17μmであることがさらに好ましい。
[カプセル]
 本発明で用いる紫外線感知層に含まれるカプセルは、光酸化剤とロイコ染料とを所定の質量比で内包する。カプセルに内包される光酸化剤とロイコ染料との質量比は、0.2~1.0:1であり、好ましくは0.3~0.8:1であり、より好ましくは0.4~0.7:1である。このような質量比で配合することにより、より効果的に紫外線の照射量に対応して感度良く発色させることができる。前記光酸化剤と前記ロイコ染料の質量比は、カプセル毎の光酸化剤とロイコ染料の質量比の平均質量比が上記範囲を満たすことが好ましいが、紫外線感知層の単位面積当たりの光酸化剤とロイコ染料の平均質量比が上記範囲を満たせば、本発明の効果は発揮される。
 本発明で用いるカプセルは、常温ではカプセル壁の物質隔離作用によりカプセル内外の物質の接触を妨げ、ある温度以上に加熱された時のみ、物質の透過性が上がる。
 この現象は、カプセル壁材、カプセル芯物質、添加剤を適宜選ぶことにより、その透過開始温度を自由にコントロールすることができる。この場合の透過開始温度は、カプセル壁のガラス転移温度に相当するものである。具体的には、特開昭59-190886号公報、特開昭60-242094号公報等が例示され、これらの内容は本明細書に組み込まれる。
 カプセル壁固有のガラス転移温度を制御するには、カプセル壁形成剤の種類をかえることが必要である。本発明において使用しうるマイクロカプセルの壁材料としては、ポリウレタン、ポリウレア、ポリエステル、ポリカーボネート、尿素-ホルムアルデヒド樹脂、メラミン-ホルムアルデヒド樹脂、ポリスチレン、スチレン-メタクリレート共重合体、ゼラチン、ポリビニルピロリドン、ポリビニルアルコール等があげられる。また、これら高分子物質は2種以上併用することもできる。
 本発明においては、上記の高分子物質のうち、ポリウレタン、ポリウレア、ポリアミド、ポリエステル、ポリカーボネート等が好ましく、特にポリウレタン及びポリウレアが好ましい。
 本発明で使用するカプセルは、ロイコ染料及び光酸化剤等の反応性物質を含有した芯物質を乳化した後、その油滴の周囲に高分子物質の壁を形成してカプセル化することが好ましい。この場合、高分子物質を形成する反応物を油滴の内部及び/又は油滴の外部に添加する。カプセルの好ましい製造方法等、本発明で好ましく使用することのできるカプセルについての詳細は、米国特許第3726804号、同3796696号の明細書に記載されており、これらの内容は本明細書に組み込まれる。
 また、例えば、ポリウレタンウレアをカプセル壁材として用いる場合、多価イソシアネート及びそれと反応しカプセル壁を形成する第二の物質(例えばポリオール)を水相又はカプセル化すべき油性液体中に混合し、水中に乳化分散し温度を上昇することにより、油滴界面で高分子形成反応を起して、カプセル壁を形成する。前記の第二の物質を例えばポリアミンにするか、あるいは何も加えなければ、ポリウレアが生成する。
 この場合に、用いる多価インシアネートおよびそれと反応するポリオール、ポリアミン(前記の第二の物質)については米国特許3281383号、同3773695号、同3793268号の各明細書、特公昭48-40347号公報、特公昭49-24159号公報、特開昭48-80191号公報、特公昭48-84086号公報に記載されており、これらの内容についても、本明細書に組み込まれる。
 多価イソシアネートとしては、例えば、m-フェニレンジイソシアネート、p-フェニレンジイソシアネート、2,6-トリレンジイソシアネート、2,4-トリレンジイソシアネート、ナフタレン-1,4-ジイソシアネート、ジフェニルメタン-4,4-ジイソシアネート、3,3’-ジメトキシ-4,4’-ヒフェニル-ジイソシアネート、3,3’-ジメチルジフェニルメタン-4,4’-ジイソシアネート、キシリレン-1,4-ジイソシアネート、4,4’-ジフェニルプロパンジイソシアネート、トリメチレンジイソシアネート、ヘキサメチレンジイソシアネート、プロピレン-1,2-ジイソシアネート、ブチレン-1,2-ジイソシアネート、シクロへキシレン-1,2-ジイソシアネート、シクロへキシレン-1,4-ジイソシアネート等のジイソシアネート、4,4’,4’-トリフェニルメタントリイソシアネート、トルエン-2,4,6-トリイソシアネートのごときトリイソシアネート、4,4’-ジメチルジフェニルメタン-2,2’,5,5’-テトラインシアネート等のテトラインシアネート、ヘキサメチレンジイソシアネートとトリメチロールプロパンの付加物、2,4-トリレンジイソシアネートとトリメチロールプロパンの付加物、キシリレンジイソシアネートとトリメチロールプロパンの付加物、トリレンジイソシアネートとヘキサントリオールの付加物等のイソシアネートプレポリマー等が挙げられる。市販品としては、タケネートD-110N等のタケネートシリーズ等(三井化学(株)製)が挙げられる。
 ポリオールとしては、脂肪族、芳香族の多価アルコール、ヒドロキシポリエステル、ヒドロキシポリアルキレンエーテル等が挙げられる。
 具体的には、特開昭60-49991号公報に記載されたポリオールが挙げられ、例えば、エチレングリコール、1,3-プロパンジオール、1,4-ブタンジオール、1,5-ペンタンジオール、1,6-ヘキサンジオール、1,7-へブタンジオール、1,8-オクタンジオール、プロピレングリコール、2,3-ジヒドロキシブタン、1,2-ジヒドロキシブタン、1,3-ジヒドロキシブタン、2,2-ジメチル-1,3-プロパンジオール、2,4-ペンタンジオール、2,5-ヘキサンジオール、3-メチル-1,5-ペンタンジオール、1,4-シクロヘキサンジメタノール、ジヒドロキシシクロヘキサン、ジエチレングリコール、1,2,6-トリヒドロキシヘキサン、2-フェニルプロピレングリコール、1,1,1-トリメチロールプロパン、ヘキサントリオール、ペンタエリスリトール、ペンタエリスリトールエチレンオキサイド付加物、グリセリンエチレンオキサイド付加物、グリセリン、1,4-ジ(2-ヒドロキシエトキシ)ベンゼン、レゾルシノールジヒドロキシエチルエーテル等の芳香族多価アルコールとアルキレンオキサイドとの縮合生成物、p-キシリレングリコール、m-キシリレングリコール、α、α′-ジヒドロキシ-p-ジイソプロピルベンゼン、4,4’-ジヒドロキシ-ジフェニルメタン、2-(p、p’-ジヒドロキシジフェニルメチル)ベンジルアルコール、ビスフェノールAにエチレンオキサイドの付加物、ビスフェノールAにプロピレンオキサイドの付加物などが挙げられる。ポリオールはイソシアネート基1モルに対して、水酸基の割合が0.02~2モルで使用するのが好ましい。
 ポリアミンとしては、例えばエチレンジアミン、トリメチレンジアミン、テトラメチレンジアミン、ペンタメチレンジアミン、ヘキサメチレンジアミン、p-フェニレンジアミン、m-フェニレンジアミン、ピペラジン、2-メチルピペラジン、2,5-ジメチルピペラジン、2-ヒドロキシトリメチレンジアミン、ジエチレントリアミン、トリエチレントリアミン、トリエチレンテトラミン、ジエチルアミノプロピルアミン、テトラエチレンペンタミン、エポキシ化合物のアミン付加物等が挙げられる。多価インシアネートは水と反応して高分子物質を形成することもできる。
 ここで油滴を形成するための有機溶媒としては、一般に高沸点オイルの中から適宜選択することができ、トリクレジルホスフェート等のリン酸エステル、ジブチルフタレート等のフタル酸エステル、アクリル酸エステル、メタクリル酸エステル、その他のカルボン酸エステル、N,N-ジエチルドデカンアミド等の脂肪酸アミド、アルキル化ビフェニル、アルキル化ターフェニル、塩素化パラフィン、アルキル化ナフタレン、ジアリールエタン等が用いられる。具体的には、特開昭60-242094号公報、特開昭63-045084号に記載されているものを用いることができ、これらの内容は本明細書に組み込まれる。
 本発明においては、上記の有機溶剤に、更に低沸点の溶解助剤として補助溶媒を加えることもできる。このような補助溶媒としては、例えば酢酸エチル、酢酸イソプロピル、酢酸ブチル及びメチレンクロライド等が挙げられる。
 一方、油相と混合する水相に、保護コロイドとして含有する水溶性高分子は、公知のアニオン性高分子、ノニオン性高分子、両性高分子の中から適宜選択することができるが、ポリビニルアルコール、ゼラチン、セルロース誘導体等が好ましい。
 また、水相に界面活性剤を含有させてもよく、水相に含有させる界面活性剤としては、アニオン性又はノニオン性の界面活性剤の中から、上記保護コロイドと作用して沈澱や凝集を起こさないものを適宜選択して使用することができる。
 好ましい界面活性剤としては、例えばアルキルベンゼンスルホン酸ソーダ(例えば、ラウリル硫酸ナトリウム)、スルホコハク酸ジオクチルナトリウム塩、ポリアルキレングリコール(例えば、ポリオキシエチレンノニルフェニルエーテル)等が挙げられる。
 本発明で用いるカプセルは、通常、平均粒子径がμmオーダーであるマイクロカプセルであり、カプセルの平均粒子径としては、0.1~100μmであることが好ましく、0.3~10μmであることがより好ましく、0.5~5μmであることがさらに好ましい。平均粒子径を0.1μm以上とすることでカプセル内の芯物質をより安定に保護することができ、100μm以下とすることで発色体の解像度をより向上させることができる。
 平均粒子径は、体積平均粒径を指し、レーザー解析/散乱式粒子径分布測定装置LA950〔(株)堀場製作所製〕により測定される値である。
[ロイコ染料]
 本発明で用いるロイコ染料とは、光酸化剤によって発色可能なロイコ染料であって、電子を付加することによって、または、電子を除去することによって染料を形成し発色するような、1個または2個の水素原子を有している還元型の染料を意味する。ロイコ染料のうち、電子を除去される前は、実質的に無色であるか、または弱い色を有するものを選択することで、光酸化によって発色させることが可能となる。なお、ロイコ染料は、1種類を単独で用いてもよいし、2種類以上を混合して用いてもよい。
 本発明で用いるロイコ染料は、例えば米国特許3445234号明細書に記載されているような、(a)アミノトリアリールメタン、(b)アミノキサンチン、(C)アミノチオキサンチン、(d)アミノ-9,10-ジヒドロアクリジン、(e)アミノフェノキサジン、(f)アミノフェノチアジン、(g)アミノジヒドロフェナジン、(h)アミノジフェニルメタン、(i)ロイコインダミン、(j)アミノヒドロシンナミック酸(シアンエタン、ロイコメチン)、(k)ヒドラジン、(l)ロイコインジゴイド染料、(m)アミノ-2,3-ジヒドロアントラキノン、(n)テトラハロ-p,p’-ビフェノール、(o)2-(p-ヒドロキシフェニル)-4,5-ジフェニルイミダゾール、(p)フェネチルアニリン等を挙げることができる。これらのロイコ染料のうち、(a)~(i)のものは1つの水素原子を失うことにより発色して染料となるが、(j)~(p)のものは2つの水素原子を失って染料を形成する。
 これらのうち、アミノアリールメタンが好ましく、アミノトリアリールメタンが好ましい。一般的に好ましいアミノトリアリールメタンの種類は、アリール基の少なくとも2つが、
(a)R1およびR2がそれぞれ水素、炭素数1~10のアルキル基、2-ヒドロキシエチル基、2-シアノエチル基、およびベンジル基から選択される基である、メタン炭素原子への結合に対してパラ位にあるR12N-置換基、および
(b)低級アルキル基(炭素数が1~4)、低級アルコキシ基(炭素数が1~4)、フッ素原子、塩素原子、および臭素原子より選択されるメタン炭素原子に対してオルト位の基を有するフェニル基であり;
第3のアリール基(残り1つのアリール基)は、他の2つのアリール基と同一または異なっていてもよく、異なっている場合は、(a)低級アルキル基、低級アルコキシ基、塩素原子、ジフェニルアミノ基、シアノ基、ニトロ基、ヒドロキシ基、フッ素原子、臭素原子、アルキルチオ基、アリールチオ基、チオエステル基、アルキルスルフォン酸基、アリールスルフォン酸基、スルフォン酸基、スルフォンアミド基、アルキルアミド基、アリールアミド基等で置換されていてもよいフェニル基;(b)アミン基、ジ-低級アルキルアミノ基、アルキルアミノ基で置換されていてもよいナフチル基;(C)アルキルで置換されていてもよいピリジル基;(d)キノリル基;(e)アルキル基で置換されていてもよいインドリニリデン基より選択されることを特徴とするアミノトリアリールメタン及びその酸塩である。
 好ましくは、R1およびR2は水素または炭素数1~4のアルキルである。最も好ましくは3個の全てのアリール基は同一である。
 このようなロイコ染料の具体例としては、例えば、トリス(4-ジメチルアミノフェニル)メタン、トリス(4-ジエチルアミノフェニル)メタン、ビス(4-ジエチルアミノフェニル)-(4-ジエチルアミノ-2-メチルフェニル)メタン、ビス(4-ジエチルアミノ-2-メチルフェニル)-(4-ジエチルアミノフェニル)メタン、ビス(1-エチル-2-メチルインドール-3-イル)-フェニルメタン、2-N-(3-トリフルオロメチルフェニル)-N-エチルアミノ-6-ジエチルアミノ-9-(2-メトキシカルボニルフェニル)キサンテン、2-(2-クロロフェニル)アミノ-6-ジブチルアミノ-9-(2-メトキシカルボニルフェニル)キサンテン、2-ジベンジルアミノ-6-ジエチルアミノ-9-(2-メトキシカルボニルフェニル)キサンテン、ベンゾ〔a〕-6-N,N-ジエチルアミノ-9,2-メトキシカルボニルフェニル)キサンテン、2-(2-クロロフェニル)-アミノ-6-ジブチルアミノ-9-(2-メチルフェニルカルボキシアミドフェニル)キサンテン、3,6-ジメトキシ-9-(2-メトキシカルボニル)-フェニルキサンテン、ベンゾイルロイコメチレンブルー、3,7-ビス-ジエチルアミノフェノキサジン等が挙げられる。市販品としては、ロイコクリスタルバイオレット(LCV、山田化学工業(株)社製)などが挙げられる。
[光酸化剤]
 本発明で用いる光酸化剤は、紫外線により活性化され、ラジカルを発生させる。このような光酸化剤を用いることで、紫外線照射量に応じて発色濃度が連続的に変化し、目視にて紫外線量を判断することが可能となる。
 本発明で用いる光酸化剤としては、波長350nmにおけるεが2000以下であることが好ましく、1000以下であることがより好ましく、500以下であることがさらに好ましい。例えば、320以下や280以下の範囲等もあるが、これに限定されない。また、波長250nmにおけるεが10000以上であることが好ましく、11000以上であることが好ましく、12000以上であることがさらに好ましい。例えば、12630以上や12740以上の範囲等もあるが、これに限定されない。このような範囲とすることにより、本発明の紫外線感知性能がより効果的に発揮される。ここで、εは、光酸化剤のモル吸光係数を意味し、例えば、紫外線分光光度計を用いて測定することができる。
 本発明で用いる光酸化剤は、下記一般式(1)~(7)で表される光酸化剤が好ましい。なお、光酸化剤は、1種類を単独で用いてもよいし、2種類以上を混合して用いてもよい。

 これらの中でも、一般式(3)、一般式(6)、一般式(7)で表される化合物が好ましく、ハロゲン原子としては塩素、臭素、ヨウ素が好ましい。また、一般式(1)~(7)で表される化合物以外でも、ビス(t-ブチルスルホニル)ジアゾメタンなどのジアゾ化合物を用いてもよい。
[還元剤]
 本発明では、紫外線感知層に還元剤を有していてもよい。還元剤は、カプセル外に有していてもよく、カプセルに内包されていてもよい。還元剤は、光酸化剤を失活させる機能を有する。還元剤を有することで、紫外線照射による光酸化剤から発生するラジカルが急激に増加することで発色濃度が急激に変化することを抑制することができ、紫外線照射量に応じて発色濃度が連続的に変化し、目視にて紫外線量を判断することが可能となる。
 還元剤は、単独もしくは2種以上併用して用いることができるが、光酸化剤に失活させる機能を有する還元性の物質であればこれらに限定されるものではない。
 本発明で用いてもよい還元剤は、活性化された光酸化剤の遊離基をトラップするいわゆるフリーラジカル捕獲物質として作用すれば、特に限定されないが、例えば、米国特許3042513号の明細書に記載の有機還元剤(例えば、ハイドロキノン、カテコール、レゾルシノール、ヒドロキシヒドロキノン、ピロログリシツール及び0-アミノフェノール、p-アミンフェノールのようなアミノフェノール類等)、特公昭62-39726号の明細書に記載の環式フェニルヒドラジド化合物(例えば1-フェニルピラゾリジン-3-オン〔フェニドンA、下記の式(1〕〕、1-フェニル-4-メチルビラゾリジン-3-オン〔フェニドンB、下記の式(2)〕、1-フェニル-4,4-ジメチルピラゾリジン-3-オン〔ジメゾン、下記の式(3)〕、又3-メチル-1-p-スルホフェニル)-2-ピラゾリン-5-オン及び3-メチル-1-フェニル-2-ビラゾリン-5-オン)等が挙げられる。市販品としては、4-ヒドロキシメチル-4-メチル-1-フェニル-3-ピラゾリジノン(ジメゾンS、大東化学(株)製)等が挙げられる。

 環式フェニルヒドラジドのフェニル基には置換基を有していてもよく、置換基としては、メチル基、トリフルオロメチル基、塩素原子、臭素原子、フッ素原子、メトキシ基、エトキシ基、p-ベンジルオキシ基、ブトキシ基、p-フェノキシ基、2,4,6-トリメチル基、3,4-ジメチル基等が挙げられる。
 環式フェニルヒドラジドの複素環基の4位には置換基を有していてもよく、置換基としては、ビス-ヒドロキシメチル基、ヒドロキシメチル基、メチル基、エチル基、ベンジル基等が挙げられる。
 環式フェニルヒドラジドの複素環基の5位には置換基を有していてもよく、置換基としては、メチル基、フェニル基等が挙げられる。
 また、還元剤としては、グアニジン誘導体、アルキレンジアミン誘導体、ヒドロキシアミン誘導体であってもよい。
 グアニジン訪導体としては、例えばフェニルグアニジン、1,3-ジフェニルグアニジン、1,2,3-トリフェニルグアニジン、1,2-ジシクロヘキシルグアニジン、1,2,3-トリシクロへキシルグアニジン、1,3-ジ-o-トリルグアニジン、o-トリルジフェニルグアニジン、m-トリルジフェニルグアニジン、p-トリルジフェニルグアニジン、N、N’-ジシクロヘキシル-4-モルホリノカルボキシアミジン、1,3-ジトリル-3-フェニルグアニジン、1,2-ジシクロへキシルフェニルグアニジン、1-o-トリルビグアニド、N-ベンジリデン-グアニジノアミン等が挙げられる。
 アルキレンジアミン誘導体としては、例えばエチレンジアミン、プロピレンジアミン、テトラメチレンジアミン、ヘキサメチレンジアミン、オクタメチレンジアミン、1,1,2-ジアミノドデカン、テトラベンジルエチレンジアミン等が挙げられる。
 ヒドロキシアミン誘導体としては、例えばジエタノールアミン、トリエタノールアミン、3-β-ナフチルオキシ-1-N,Nジメチルアミノ-2-プロパノール等が挙げられる。
 本発明のシートにおいては、還元剤に対しては、サンドミル等により固体分散するか、もしくはオイルに溶解後乳化分散して用いるのがよい。
 固体分散の場合、濃度2~30質量%の水溶性高分子溶液中で分散し、好ましい分散粒子サイズは10μm以下である。好ましい水溶性高分子としてはカプセルを作るときに用いられる水溶性高分子が挙げられる。乳化分散については、特開昭63-045084号公報に記載の手法及び素材を参考にして行うことができる。
 好ましい還元剤の量としては、還元剤がカプセル外に有する場合、光酸化剤と還元剤とのモル比が1:0.1~100であることが好ましく、1:0.5~0.50であることがより好ましく、1:1~10であることがさらに好ましい。
 還元剤がカプセルに内包されている場合、光酸化剤と還元剤のモル比が、1:0.001~0.1モルであることが好ましく、1:0.005~0.08であることがより好ましく、1:0.01~0.05であることがさらに好ましい。
<<紫外線感知層の形成方法>>
 紫外線感知層は、上述したロイコ染料および光酸化剤を内包したカプセルの分散物として支持体または反射層上に塗布、含浸又は自己支持層を形成させて作製することができる。
 紫外線感知層を形成する際の紫外線感知層塗布液の塗布量は、固形分換算で3g/m2~30g/m2が好ましく、5g/m2~20g/m2がより好ましい。3g/m2以下では十分な濃度が得られず、30g/m2以上塗布しても品質の向上は見られないのでコスト的に不利になる。
 紫外線感知層塗布液を塗布するに当っては、一般によく知られた塗布方法、例えばディップコート法、エアーナイフコート法、カーテンコート法、ローラーコート法、ドクターコート法、ワイヤーパーニート法、スライドコート法、グラビアコート法、スピンニート法あるいは米国特許第2681294号明細書に記載のホッパーを使用するエクストルージョンコート法等により塗布することができる。
<<<支持体>>>
 本発明で用いる支持体としては、本発明の趣旨を逸脱しない限り、特に限定されるものではない。
 支持体に適する材料としては、紙、再生セルロース、酢酸セルロース、硝酸セルロース、ポリエチレンテレフタレート、ビニル重合体および共重合体、ポリエチレン、ポリビニルアセテート、ポリメチルメタクリレート、ポリビニルクロリドなどのプラスチックおよび重合体からなるフィルム;織布;ガラス、木および金属のなどのグラフィックアートおよび装飾用途において一般的に用いられている物質を包含する。
 支持体の厚さとしては、5~250μmが好ましく、25~150μmがより好ましく、50~100μmがさらに好ましい。
<<<反射層>>>
 本発明では、支持体と紫外線感知層との間に反射層を設けてもよく、支持体の紫外線感知層を有する面の反対側の面に反射層を設けてもよく、反射層を設けることで反射濃度を向上させることができる。支持体自身が反射機能を持っている場合は、反射層は不要であるが、支持体が透明である場合は、反射層を設けて、光の透過を抑制することが好ましい。
 本発明における反射層は、支持体の一方の面に塗布形成されると共に、バインダー及び白色無機粒子を含有することが好ましい。反射層に含まれる白色無機粒子の割合は、反射層中のバインダー及び白色無機粒子の合計質量に対し、30質量%~90質量%であることが好ましい。
 反射層は、必要に応じて、さらに各種添加剤などの他の成分を含んで構成されてもよい。
[白色無機粒子]
 本発明における反射層は、白色無機粒子の少なくとも一種を含有することが好ましい。白色無機顔料は、ポリマー基材が含有する白色無機粒子と同じであっても異なっていてもよく、例えば、二酸化チタン、硫酸バリウム、酸化珪素、酸化アルミニウム、酸化マグネシウム、炭酸カルシウム、カオリン、タルク等の無機顔料を適宜選択して含有することができる。中でも二酸化チタンが好ましい。市販品としては、例えば、タイペークR780-2等のタイペークシリーズ(石原産業社製)等が挙げられる。
 本発明における反射層は、反射層中のバインダー及び白色無機粒子の合計質量に対し、30質量%~90質量%の白色無機粒子を含有することが好ましく、50~85質量%がより好ましい。白色無機粒子の反射層中の含有量が30質量%以上でないと、良好な反射率が得られず、90質量%以下でないと軽量化を図れない。
 本発明における反射層には、白色無機粒子を4~12g/m2で含有することが好ましく、5~11g/m2で含有することがより好ましい。白色無機粒子の含量が4g/m2以上であると、必要な反射率が得られ易く、含量が12g/m2であることで本発明のシートの軽量化が達成し易い。
 なお、反射層が2種類以上の白色無機粒子を含有する場合は、反射層中の全白色無機粒子の添加量の合計が4~12g/m2の範囲であることが必要である。
 白色無機粒子の平均粒径としては、体積平均粒径で0.1~10μmが好ましく、より好ましくは0.3~8μm程度である。平均粒径が前記範囲内であると、光の反射効率が高い。平均粒径は、レーザー解析/散乱式粒子径分布測定装置LA950〔(株)堀場製作所製〕により測定される値である。
[バインダー]
 本発明における反射層は、バインダーの少なくとも1種を含有することが好ましい。バインダーの塗布量は、0.5~5.0g/m2の範囲が好ましく、1~3g/m2の範囲がより好ましい。バインダーの塗布量が、0.5g/m2以上であると、反射層の強度が充分に得られ、また、5g/m2以下であると、反射率と質量を良好に保つことができる。
 本発明における反射層に好適なバインダーは、ポリビニルアルコール(PVA)、変性ポリビニルアルコール、ヒドロキシエチルセルロース、ヒドロキシプロピルセルロース、エピクロルヒドリン変性ポリアミド、エチレン-無水マレイン酸共重合体、スチレン-無水マレイン酸共重合体、イソブチレン-無水マレインサリチル酸共重合体、ポリアクリル酸、ポリアクリル酸アミド、メチロール変性ポリアクリルアミド、デンプン誘導体、カゼイン、ゼラチン、スチレンブタジエン系ゴム(SBR)等が挙げられる。また、これらのバインダーに耐水性を付与する目的で耐水性の改良剤を加えたり、疎水性ポリマーのエマルジョン、具体的には、アクリル樹脂エマルジョン、スチレン-ブタジエンラテックス等を添加することもできる。用いられるバインダーとしては、透明性を良好なものとする観点から、ポリビニルアルコールが好ましく、カルボキシ変性ポリビニルアルコールやアルキルエーテル変性ポリビニルアルコール等の変性PVAを用いることもできる。
[添加剤]
 本発明における反射層には、バインダー及び白色無機粒子以外に、必要に応じて、さらに他の成分を含有することができる。他の成分としては、特に制限されるものではなく、目的又は必要に応じて適宜選択することができる。他の成分として、例えば、架橋剤、界面活性剤、フィラー等が挙げられる。
 架橋剤としては、公知の架橋剤の中から適宜選択することができる。例えば、N-メチロール尿素、N-メチロールメラミン、尿素-ホルマリン等の水溶性初期縮合物;グリオキザール、グルタルアルデヒド等のジアルデヒド化合物類;硼酸、硼砂等の無機系架橋剤;ポリアミドエピクロルヒドリン等が挙げられる。
 バインダーのうち、水溶性の高分子化合物(例えば、ゼラチンやポリビニルアルコール)を用いる場合には、架橋剤を含有し、バインダーを架橋することで、保存安定性をより一層向上させることができる。
 架橋剤を添加する場合、その添加量としては、反射層中のバインダーに対して、5~50質量%が好ましく、10~40質量%がより好ましい。架橋剤の添加量が5質量%以上であると、反射層の強度及び接着性を保持しながら充分な架橋効果が得られ、50質量%以下であると、塗布液のポットライフを長く保てる。
 前記界面活性剤としては、アニオン系やノニオン系等の公知の界面活性剤が挙げられる。界面活性剤を添加する場合、その添加量は0.1~15mg/m2が好ましく、0.5~5mg/m2がより好ましい。界面活性剤の添加量が0.1mg/m2以上であると、ハジキの発生を抑えて良好な層形成が得られ、15mg/m2以下であると、接着を良好に行なうことができる。
 本発明における反射層には、上記の白色無機粒子とは別に、更に、シリカ等のフィラーなどを添加してもよい。フィラーを添加する場合、その添加量は、反射層中のバインダーに対して、20質量%以下が好ましく、15質量%以下がより好ましい。フィラーの添加量が20質量%以下であると、必要な反射率や支持体との接着性を得ることができる。
<<反射層の形成方法>>
 本発明における反射層は、支持体の少なくとも一方の面に、上記白色無機粒子、バインダー、及びその他添加剤を含有する反射層用塗布液を塗布することにより形成される。
 塗布方法としては、例えば、グラビアコーター、バーコーターなどの公知の塗布方法を利用することができる。
 塗布液は、塗布溶媒として水を用いた水系でもよいし、トルエンやメチルエチルケトン等の有機溶媒を用いた溶剤系でもよい。中でも、環境負荷の観点から、水を溶媒とすることが好ましい。塗布溶媒は、1種類を単独で用いてもよいし、2種類以上を混合して用いてもよい。好ましい塗布溶媒の例として、水、水/メチルアルコール=95/5(質量比)等がある。
 また、反射層用塗布液の塗布にあっては、ポリマー基材の表面に直にあるいは厚み2μm以下の下塗り層を介して、反射層用塗布液を塗布し、ポリマー基材上に反射層を形成することができる。
 反射層塗布液の塗布量は、固形分換算で5g/m2以上が好ましく、10g/m2以上がより好ましい。上限について特に制限はないが、30g/m2以下である。5g/m2以下では十分な反射濃度が得られない。
 反射層の厚さとしては、5~30μmが好ましく、7~20μmがより好ましく、9~15μmがさらに好ましい。
<<密着層>>
 本発明の紫外線感知シートは、支持体と反射層との間に密着層を有していてもよい。密着層は、バインダー、架橋剤、および界面活性剤を有することが好ましい。
 バインダーは、反射層の形成に用いたバインダーと同様のバインダーを用いることができ、スチレンブタジエンゴム系バインダー(SBR系バインダー)が好ましい。
 架橋剤は、反射層の形成に用いた架橋剤と同様の架橋剤を用いることができ、グリオキザールが好ましい。
 界面活性剤は、反射層の形成に用いた界面活性剤と同様の界面活性剤を用いることができ、アニオン系界面活性剤が好ましく、中でも、アルキルベンゼンスルホン酸ナトリウムが好ましい。
<<密着層の形成方法>>
 本発明における密着層は、支持体の表面に、上記バインダーなどを含有する密着層用塗布液を塗布することにより形成される。塗布方法としては、反射層の形成方法と同様であり、好ましい範囲も同様である。
<<光沢層>>
 本発明における光沢層は、反射層の一方の面に塗布形成されると共に、バインダー及び顔料を含有することが好ましい。光沢層に含まれる顔料の割合は、光沢層中のバインダー及び顔料の合計質量に対し、30質量%~90質量%であることが好ましい。
 バインダーとしては、反射層におけるバインダーと同様のバインダーを用いることができ、好ましい範囲も同様である。
 光沢層は、必要に応じて、各種添加剤などの他の成分を含んで構成されてもよい。各種添加剤としては、反射層における各種添加剤と同様の添加剤を用いることができ、好ましい範囲も同様である。
[顔料]
 顔料としては、有機顔料、無機顔料いずれを用いてもよい。有機顔料としては、モノアゾ及び縮合アゾ系、アンスラキノン系、イソインドリノン系、複素環系、ペリノン系、キナクリドン系、ペリレン系、チオインジゴ系、ジオキサジン系等が挙げられる。無機顔料としては、カーボンブラック、酸化チタン、チタンイエロー、酸化鉄、群青、コバルトブルー、焼成顔料、メタリック顔料等が挙げられる。
 ここで、カーボンブラックとしては、チャネルブラック系、ファーネスブラック系、ランプブラック系、サーマルブラック系、ケッチェンブラック系、ナフタレンブラック系等が好ましく用いられる。これらのカーボンブラックは1種で用いても良いし、又、2種以上を組み合わせて用いてもよい。また、他の着色剤と併用してもよい。メタリック顔料としては、アルミニウム、着色アルミニウム、ニッケル、スズ、銅、金、銀、白金、酸化鉄、ステンレス、チタン等の金属粒子、マイカ製パール顔料、カラーグラファイト、カラーガラス繊維、カラーガラスフレーク、パール顔料等を挙げることができる。
 顔料は、市販品を用いてもよく、例えばIriodin 111(メルク社製)を用いることができる。
<<光沢層の形成方法>>
 本発明における光沢層は、反射層の表面に、上記顔料、バインダー、及びその他添加剤を含有する光沢層用塗布液を塗布することにより形成される。塗布方法としては、反射層の形成方法と同様であり、好ましい範囲も同様である。
 光沢層の厚さとしては、0.5~20μmが好ましく、0.7~15μmがより好ましく、1~5μmがさらに好ましい。
<紫外線感知方法>
 本発明の紫外線感知シートは、紫外線の積算照度に応じて連続的に発色させることが可能なので、目視で紫外線量を確認、検出することができる。特に、1mJ/cm2~1000mJ/cm2の範囲における紫外線感知に優れることから、紫外線検出方法または紫外線測定方法として広く用いることができる。また、シート状なので、広い面積での紫外線照射量の測定も可能である。
 本発明の紫外線感知シートは、シート状なので、紫外線を測定したい箇所に載置させるだけで紫外線を測定することが可能となる。
<紫外線感知シートの用途>
 本発明の紫外線感知シートは、目視で紫外線量を確認することができ、広い面積での紫外線照射量の測定が簡便であり、特に、1mJ/cm2~1000mJ/cm2の範囲における紫外線感知に優れることから、様々な用途で使用することができる。例えば、ロールトゥロールで紫外線硬化樹脂を紫外線硬化しながらフィルムを製造するとき、紫外線光量計を用いて紫外線量測定しなくても、紫外線照射装置で紫外線を照射する紫外線量の測定に使用可能である。また、例えば、人や物の紫外線による日焼けの度合いを把握するために、日常的に日中の紫外線量を測定することも可能である。
 以下に実施例を挙げて本発明をさらに具体的に説明する。以下の実施例に示す材料、使用量、割合、処理内容、処理手順等は、本発明の趣旨を逸脱しない限り、適宜、変更することができる。従って、本発明の範囲は以下に示す具体例に限定されるものではない。なお、添加量を示す「部」は「質量部」を示す。
(紫外線感知シートの作製)
[実施例1]
 下記の組成の混合液を、ポリビニルアルコール8質量%水溶液63部と蒸留水100部からなる水溶液の中に添加した後、20℃で乳化分散し、体積平均粒径1μmの乳化液を得た。更に得られた乳化液を40℃にて3時間攪拌しつづけた。その後室温にもどし、濾過して水系のカプセル分散液を得た。

ロイコ染料;ロイコクリスタルバイオレット(LCV、山田化学工業(株)社製) 3.0部
光酸化剤;トリブロモメチルフェニルスルホン(BMPS) 1.5部
塩化メチレン 22部
トリクレジルホスフェート 24部
タケネートD-110N(75質量%酢酸エチル溶液 三井化学(株)製) 24部
 次に、下記組成の混合液をダイノミル(ウイリー・エイ・バコフェン・エイ・ジー社製)にて分散し、平均粒径3μmの4-ヒドロキシメチル-4-メチル-1-フェニル-3-ピラゾリジノン(ジメゾンS)分散液を得た。
-混合液の組成-
ポリビニルアルコール4質量%水溶液 150部
還元剤;4‐ヒドロキシメチル‐4‐メチル‐1‐フェニル‐3‐ピラゾリジノン(ジメゾンS、大東化学社製)30部
 調製したカプセル分散液9部とジメゾンS分散液9部を混合し、厚さ75μmの発泡ポリエチレンテレフタレートベース(クリスパーK1212 東洋紡(株)製)に固形塗布量10g/m2になるように塗布し、50℃で1分間加熱乾燥し、実施例1の紫外線感知シートを作製した。
[実施例2]
 実施例1の光酸化剤1.5部を0.9部に変えた以外は実施例1と同様にして紫外線感知シートを作製した。
[実施例3]
 実施例1の光酸化剤1.5部を2.4部に変えた以外は実施例1と同様にして紫外線感知シートを作製した。
[実施例4]
 実施例1の光酸化剤1.5部を0.75部に変え、ロイコ染料3.0部を1.5部に変えた以外は実施例1と同様にして紫外線感知シートを作製した。
[実施例5]
 実施例1の光酸化剤1.5部を3.5部に変え、ロイコ染料3.0部を7.0部に変えた以外は実施例1と同様にして紫外線感知シートを作製した。
[実施例6]
 実施例1の光酸化剤をトリ-p-トリルスルホニウムトリフルオロメタンスルホナート(商品名;TS-01/三和ケミカル社)に変えた以外は実施例1と同様にして紫外線感知シートを作製した。
[実施例7]
 実施例1の光酸化剤をビス(t-ブチルスルホニル)ジアゾメタン(商品名:WPAG-170 Wako社)に変えた以外は実施例1と同様にして紫外線感知シートを作製した。
[実施例8]
 実施例1で使用した光酸化剤をロフィンダイマー(商品名:B-CIM/保土谷化学社)に変えた以外は実施例1と同様にして紫外線感知シートを作製した。
[比較例1]
 実施例1の光酸化剤1.5部を0.3部に変えた以外は実施例1と同様にして紫外線感知シートを作製した。
[比較例2]
 実施例1の光酸化剤1.5部を4.5部に変えた以外は実施例1と同様にして紫外線感知シートを作製した。
[比較例3]
 実施例1の光酸化剤1.5部を0.25部に変え、ロイコ染料3.0部を0.5部に変えた以外は実施例1と同様にして紫外線感知シートを作製した。
[比較例4]
 実施例1の光酸化剤1.5部を0.65部に変え、ロイコ染料3.0部を13部に変えた以外は実施例1と同様にして紫外線感知シートを作製した。
[比較例5]
 実施例1の光酸化剤について、トリブロモメチルフェニルスルホン(BMPS)の代わりに2-(4-メチルフェニル)-4,6-ビス(トリクロロメチル)-1,3,5-トリアジン(商品名:Triazin A/日本シーベルヘグナー社)を使用した以外は実施例1と同様にして紫外線感知シートを作製した。
[比較例6]
 実施例1において、ロイコ染料および光酸化剤をカプセルで内包せずに紫外線感知層を形成させた以外は実施例1と同様にして紫外線感知シートを作製した。
[光酸化剤のε(感光領域)の測定]
 波長250nmおよび350nmにおける各ε(モル吸光係数)を分光光度計(U-2000、日立ハイテク社製)で測定した。
(評価)
 作製した実施例および比較例の紫外線感知シートの発色の反射濃度変化ΔD、取扱い性、および画像保存性を以下のように測定し、評価した。結果を下記表に示す。
[反射濃度変化]
 高圧水銀灯(高圧UVランプ、ウシオ電機社製)で積算照度が1mJ/cm2、10mJ/cm2、100mJ/cm2、および1000mJ/cm2となるように紫外線を照射し、その時の色の変化を反射濃度計(X-Rite310、X-Rite社製)で測定し、その時の発色濃度の変化量を示した。具体的には、1mJ/cm2以上10mJ/cm2未満の範囲における反射濃度変化ΔD1、10mJ/cm2以上100mJ/cm2未満の範囲における反射濃度変化ΔD2、および100mJ/cm2以上1000mJ/cm2以下の範囲における反射濃度変化ΔD3を示すとともに、以下の基準で評価した。
A:反射濃度変化ΔD1、ΔD2、およびΔD3がいずれも0.2以上である
B:反射濃度変化ΔD1、ΔD2、およびΔD3の少なくともいずれかが0.2未満である
 なお、この測定は、図1に示したような右肩上がりのグラフを前提とし、積算照度の上限、下限それぞれ1点ずつを測定しているので、ΔD1、ΔD2、およびΔD3の値は、最大値と最小値との差と同義である。ΔD1、ΔD2、およびΔD3が大きな値を維持できれば、その分測定に使用できる範囲が広くなるので、階調性が優れる。
[取扱い性]
 500Luxの蛍光灯環境下で30分間放置し、30分間後の紫外線感知シートの濃度変化を反射濃度計(X-Rite310、X-Rite社製)で測定し、以下の基準で評価した。
A:0.1以下
B:0.1より大きく0.3以下
C:0.3より大きい
[画像保存性]
 高圧水銀灯(高圧UVランプ、ウシオ電機社製)で100mJ/cm2照射し、100℃のドライオーブンで3分間紫外線感知シートを処理した。その後、再度高圧水銀灯で100mJ/cm2照射し、その時の濃度変化を反射濃度計(X-Rite310、X-Rite社製)で測定し、以下の基準で評価した。
A:0.1以下
B:0.1より大きく0.2以下
C:0.2より大きい

 表からわかるように、実施例1~8は、1mJ/cm2以上10mJ/cm2未満の範囲における反射濃度変化ΔD1、10mJ/cm2以上100mJ/cm2未満の範囲における反射濃度変化ΔD2、および100mJ/cm2以上1000mJ/cm2以下の範囲における反射濃度変化ΔD3がいずれも0.2以上であり、反射濃度変化の評価はAとなっていることから、階調性が優れている。
 これに対し、比較例1~6は、1mJ/cm2以上10mJ/cm2未満の範囲における反射濃度変化ΔD1、10mJ/cm2以上100mJ/cm2未満の範囲における反射濃度変化ΔD2、および100mJ/cm2以上1000mJ/cm2以下の範囲における反射濃度変化ΔD3の少なくともいずれかが0.2未満であり、階調性が乏しい。
 また、波長350nmにおけるモル吸光係数εが2000以下であり、かつ、波長250nmにおけるεが10000以上である光酸化剤を用いた実施例1~7は、取扱い性により優れることが分かる。
 紫外線感知層が、カプセル、および還元剤を有すると、画像保存性に優れることが分かる。
 このように本発明の紫外線感知シートは、1mJ/cm2~1000mJ/cm2の範囲における紫外線量測定に優れることがわかる。
[実施例9]
 以下のように作製した反射層上に実施例1と同様にして紫外線感知層を形成し実施例9の紫外線感知シートを作製した。
<反射層の作製>
 下記組成の混合液をダイノミル(ウイリー・エイ・バコフェン・エイ・ジー社製)にて分散し、平均粒径1μmの酸化チタン分散液を得た。
-混合液の組成-
ポリビニルアルコール4質量%水溶液 80部
酸化チタン(石原産業社製、商品名:タイペークR780-2) 50部
 調製した酸化チタン分散液10部とポリビニルアルコール6質量%水溶液20部とを混合し、ポリエチレンテレフタレートベースに固形塗布量が10g/m2となるように塗布し、80℃で1分間乾燥し、反射層を作製した。
[実施例10]
 実施例9の粒径1μmの酸化チタンを粒径0.3μmの酸化チタンに変えた以外は実施例9と同様にして紫外線感知シートを作製した。
[実施例11]
 実施例9の粒径1μmの酸化チタンを粒径8μmの酸化チタンに変えた以外は実施例9と同様にして紫外線感知シートを作製した。
[実施例12]
 実施例9の粒径1μmの酸化チタンを粒径1μmの酸化チタンに変え、固形塗布量が6g/m2となるように塗布した以外は実施例9と同様にして紫外線感知シートを作製した。
[実施例13]
 以下のように形成した密着層をポリエチレンテレフタレートベース上に作製した。
<密着層の作製>
 下記組成の混合液を調製し、密着層形成用塗布液を得た。
-混合液の組成-
ポリビニルアルコール4重量%水溶液 98部
SBR系バインダー溶液(日本エイアンドエル社製、製品名SN-307) 1877部
架橋剤(日本合成化学社製、商品名グリオキザール) 18部
ABS系界面活性剤(第一化学工業社製、製品名ネオゲンT) 6部
 調製した密着層形成用塗布液を、ポリエチレンテレフタレートベース上に固形塗布量が2.0g/m2となるように塗布し、80℃で1分間乾燥し、密着層を作製した。
 密着層の表面に、実施例9に記載の方法で反射層を形成した。さらに、ポリエチレンテレフタレートベースの反射層を形成した面と反対側の表面に、実施例1と同様にして紫外線感知層を形成し実施例13の紫外線感知シートを作製した。
[実施例14]
 実施例13において、反射層上に以下のように光沢層を形成させた以外は実施例13と同様にして実施例14の紫外線感知シートを作製した。
<光沢層の作製>
 下記組成の混合液をダイノミル(ウイリー・エイ・バコフェン・エイ・ジー社製)にて分散し、平均粒径5μmのパール顔料分散液を得た。
-混合液の組成-
ポリビニルアルコール4重量%水溶液 80部
パール顔料(メルク社製、商品名:Iriodin 111) 50部
 調製したパール顔料散液10部とポリビニルアルコール6質量%水溶液20部とを混合し、上記反射層上に固形塗布量が1.0g/m2となるように塗布し、80℃で1分間乾燥し、光沢層を作製した。
[実施例15]
 実施例14の光沢層を固形塗布量が3.0g/m2となるように変更した以外は、実施例14と同様にして紫外線感知シートを作製した。
(評価)
 作製した実施例9~15の紫外線感知シートの反射濃度を以下のように測定し、評価した。結果を下記表に示す。
[反射濃度]
 高圧水銀灯(高圧UVランプ、ウシオ電機社製)で積算照度が100mJ/cm2となるように紫外線を照射した後、その時の色の変化を反射濃度計(X-Rite310、X-Rite社製)で測定し、以下の基準で評価した。
A:0.5より大きい
B:0.4より大きく、0.5以下
C:0.4以下
[カールの評価]
 A4サイズのサンプルを、15℃/30%環境下で、感光面(紫外線感知層)を表にして一昼夜放置した後、4隅の浮き上がりの高さ(mm)を測定し、平均値として求めた。
[表裏の視認性]
 デジタル変角光沢計(UGV-6P、スガ試験機社製)で60度光沢度、又は分光測色度計(CM-3700A、コニカミノルタ社製)で色差を測定した。
A:表裏の光沢度差が5以上、または色差が3以上
B:表裏の光沢度差が2以上5未満、または色差が1以上3未満
C:表裏の光沢度差が2未満、または色差が1未満

 表からわかるように、本発明の紫外線感知シートは、反射層を用いると、透明な支持体を用いても反射濃度に優れることがわかる。
 また、図5の態様の実施例13~15は、低湿環境下でのカールが改善されていることが分かる。また、図5の態様では、実施例14~15のように光沢層を反射層上に設けることで表裏の視認性が向上していることが分かる。
 さらに、実施例13~15において、紫外線感知層から還元剤を除いたこと以外は同様に作製した紫外線感知シートについても、実施例13~15と同様に良好な性能が得られた。

Claims (13)

  1. 高圧水銀ランプで照射した際、波長365nmで測定した時における積算照度が1mJ/cm2以上10mJ/cm2未満の範囲における反射濃度変化ΔD1、10mJ/cm2以上100mJ/cm2未満の範囲における反射濃度変化ΔD2、および100mJ/cm2以上1000mJ/cm2以下の範囲における反射濃度変化ΔD3がそれぞれ0.2以上である、紫外線感知シート。
  2. 光酸化剤と前記光酸化剤によって酸化発色可能なロイコ染料とを内包したカプセルを有し、前記光酸化剤と前記ロイコ染料の質量比が、0.2~1.0:1である紫外線感知層を有し、前記紫外線感知層の表面積1m2当たりの前記ロイコ染料の量が0.1~1.0gである、請求項1に記載の紫外線感知シート。
  3. 光酸化剤が、波長350nmにおける光酸化剤のモル吸光係数εが2000以下であり、かつ、波長250nmにおけるεが10000以上である、請求項1または2に記載の紫外線感知シート。
  4. カプセルがマイクロカプセルである、請求項1~3のいずれか1項に記載の紫外線感知シート。
  5. ロイコ染料がアミノアリールメタンである、請求項1~4のいずれか1項に記載の紫外線感知シート。
  6. 紫外線感知シートを高圧水銀ランプで照射した際、波長365nmで測定した時の積算照度が1~1000mJ/cm2の範囲で紫外線を感知可能である、請求項1~5のいずれか1項に記載の紫外線感知シート。
  7. 支持体上に、前記紫外線感知層を有する、請求項1~6のいずれか1項に記載の紫外線感知シート。
  8. 前記支持体がプラスチックフィルムである、請求項7に記載の紫外線感知シート。
  9. 前記支持体と前記紫外線感知層の間、または前記支持体において前記紫外線感知層を有する面の反対側の面に反射層を有する、請求項7または8に記載の紫外線感知シート。
  10. 前記支持体と前記紫外線感知層の間に反射層を有する、請求項9に記載の紫外線感知シート。
  11. さらに、前記紫外線感知層に還元剤を含む、請求項1~10のいずれか1項に記載の紫外線感知シート。
  12. 支持体の上に、光酸化剤と前記光酸化剤によって酸化発色可能なロイコ染料とを内包したカプセルを有し、前記光酸化剤と前記ロイコ染料の質量比が、0.2~1.0:1である紫外線感知層組成物を支持体の表面積1m2当たりの前記ロイコ染料の量が0.1~1.0gとなるように適用することを含む、請求項1~11のいずれか1項に記載の紫外線感知シートの製造方法。
  13. 請求項1~11のいずれか1項に記載の紫外線感知シートを用いることを特徴とする、紫外線感知方法。
