Abstract
Description
本願は2010年8月6日に日本に出願された、特願2010-177779号に基づき優先権を主張し、その内容をここに援用する。
例えば、特許文献1には、ヘッド部の前端寄りで植毛面の周縁に沿って略U字型に大口径毛束が配置された前端側植毛領域と、ヘッド部の後端寄りに小口径毛束が配された後端側植毛領域とを有し、前端側植毛領域の植毛密度を、後端側植毛領域の植毛密度よりも高くした歯ブラシが提案されている。この歯ブラシによれば、口腔内の各部、特に奥歯の咬合面において高い刷掃力が得られる。
例えば、特許文献5には、テーパリングされた針状の毛を、他部位の針状の毛の高さより1mm~10mm高くした突出部が形成された歯ブラシが提案されている。この歯ブラシによれば、必要に応じて針状の毛が歯の隙間部又は歯周ポケット等の歯の周辺の細密な部位に局所的、集中的に浸透し、食べ滓をやさしく除去することができる。
一方で、毛腰の低い用毛を用いると、歯垢の除去が不十分となりやすく、用毛の植毛密度を高くすると、歯牙と歯茎との隙間に毛先を入れるために必要な各毛束の動きを制限することとなる。このような歯ブラシは、歯周病対策の根本的な課題である「歯頸部の清掃性」を満足できるものではない。歯周病罹患者にとって、歯茎に負担をかけない安心感をもたらしながら、適切に歯頸部を清掃できる歯ブラシが求められている。
加えて、上述した特許文献1~7の歯ブラシは、歯垢の効率的な除去の観点からなされた発明であり、歯周病罹患者への配慮が不十分である。
そこで、本発明は、歯茎への優しい当たり心地と、歯頸部の高い清掃性とを両立できる歯ブラシの提供を目的とする。
前記中央毛束は、その長さ方向に直交する断面の直径が1.0~1.6mmであり、前記外側毛束の長さ方向に直交する前記外側毛束の断面積を、前記中央毛束の長さ方向に直交する前記中央毛束の断面積で除した値が1.8以上であることが好ましく、前記中央毛束は、前記植毛面上の長さが、前記外側毛束の前記植毛面上の長さより長いことがより好ましく、前記中央毛束及び前記外側毛束の双方又はいずれか一方には、毛先に向かって漸次その径が小さくなる用毛が含まれることがさらに好ましい。
本発明の歯ブラシによれば、前記中央毛束は、その長さ方向に直交する断面の直径が1.0~1.6mmであり、前記外側毛束の長さ方向に直交する前記外側毛束の断面積を、前記中央毛束の長さ方向に直交する前記中央毛束の断面積で除した値が1.8以上であるため、歯茎への当たり心地をより良好にできると共に、歯頸部の清掃性をより向上できる。
本発明の歯ブラシによれば、前記中央毛束は、前記植毛面上の長さが、前記外側毛束の前記植毛面上の長さより長いものとされているため、前記中央毛束の先端が歯周ポケットや歯間部に入りやすくなり、歯頸部の清掃性をさらに向上できる。
前記中央毛束及び前記外側毛束の双方又はいずれか一方には、毛先に向かって漸次その径が小さくなる用毛が含まれているため、前記中央毛束又は前記外側毛束を構成する用毛の先端が歯周ポケットや歯間部に入りやすくなり、歯頸部の清掃性をさらに向上できる。
また、植毛面5には、その幅方向、即ち軸線Oに直交する方向で中央植毛穴10を挟み、軸線Oに沿って有底円筒状の12個の外側植毛穴20が形成され、この外側植毛穴20に、2以上の外側用毛23を略円柱状に束ねた外側毛束22が植設されている。そして、植毛面5には、ヘッド部4の側縁6に沿って設けられた6個の外側毛束22により、第一の外側毛束群24aが構成され、ヘッド部4の側縁7に沿って設けられた6個の外側毛束22により第二の外側毛束群24bが構成されている。
中央毛束12の植毛面5上の長さである毛丈t1は、外側毛束22の植毛面5上の長さである毛丈t2よりも長いものとされている。
なお、この環状線は、第一の外側毛束群24a内で隣接する外側植毛穴20同士の共通接線を構成する。
また、植毛面5には、第二の外側毛束群24bが設けられた領域を示す第二の外側植毛領域21bが形成されており、第二の外側植毛領域21bは、第二の外側毛束群24bを構成する外側毛束22が植設された外側植毛穴20の外縁を結ぶ環状線で囲われた領域である。なお、この環状線は、第二の外側毛束群24b内で隣接する外側植毛穴20同士の共通接線を構成する。
また、外側植毛穴20の直径R2は、外側毛束22の直径に応じて決定でき、例えば、1.8~2.4mmとされる。本実施形態においては、全ての外側植毛穴20の直径R2が略同等とされている。略同等とは、全ての直径R2が±5%の範囲に含まれていることをいう。
また図1Aでは、外側植毛穴20の数が12個であるが、本発明はこれに限定されない。外側植毛穴20の数は植毛面の形状に応じて決定でき、8~16個が好ましい。
本実施形態では、全ての中央毛束12の毛束径r1が、略同等とされている。略同等とは、全ての直径r1が±5%の範囲に含まれていることをいう。
1個の中央毛束12当たりの中央用毛13の本数は、中央用毛13の用毛径等を勘案して決定でき、例えば、10~30本とされる。
なお、中央毛束12の毛束径r1は、植毛面5との境界部における直径であり、中央植毛穴10の直径R1と略同等である。略同等とは、±5%内の差異をいう。
下記(1)式で表される中央毛束12の毛丈t1と外側毛束22の毛丈t2との毛丈差t3は、0.3mm以上2.0mm以下が好ましく、0.5~1.5mmがより好ましい。t1>t2であれば、歯頸部の清掃性、及び歯茎への当たり心地のさらなる向上が図れる。
本実施形態では、全ての外側毛束22の毛束径r2が、略同等とされている。略同等とは、全ての直径r2が±5%の範囲に含まれていることをいう。
1個の外側毛束22当たりの外側用毛23の本数は、外側用毛23の用毛径等を勘案して決定でき、例えば、50~200本とされる。
なお、外側毛束22の毛束径r2は、植毛面5との境界部における直径であり、外側植毛穴20の直径R2と略同等である。
なお、中央毛束断面積は、中央毛束12と植毛面5との境界部分の断面積であり、中央植毛穴10の開口面積と略同等である。外側毛束断面積は、外側毛束22と植毛面との境界部分の断面積であり、外側植毛穴20の開口面積と略同等である。
第一の外側毛束群24aの植毛密度と第二の外側毛束群24bの植毛密度とは、同じであってもよいし、異なっていてもよい。ただし、刷掃時において、口腔内の上下左右のいずれの歯茎に対しても優しい当たり心地を確保する観点から、第一の外側毛束群24aの植毛密度と第二の外側毛束群24bの植毛密度とは、略同等であることが好ましい。なお、略同等とは、[第一の外側毛束群の植毛密度]/[第二の外側毛束群の植毛密度]で表される比が、0.95~1.05であることを意味する。
第一の外側毛束群24aを構成する外側用毛23の総本数と、第二の外側毛束群24bを構成する外側用毛23の総本数とは、同じであってもよいし、異なっていてもよい。ただし、刷掃時において、口腔内の上下左右のいずれの歯茎に対しても優しい当たり心地を確保する観点から、第一の外側毛束群24aを構成する外側用毛23の総本数と、第二の外側毛束群24bを構成する外側用毛23の総本数とは、略同等であることが好ましい。
なお、略同等とは、[第一の外側毛束群を構成する外側用毛の総本数]/[第二の外側毛束群を構成する外側用毛の総本数]で表される比が、0.95~1.05であることを意味する。
外側用毛23の材質は、中央用毛13の材質と同じである。
なお、中央用毛13の材質と外側用毛23の材質とは、同じであってもよいし、異なっていてもよい。
加えて、外側用毛23の用毛径は、中央用毛13の用毛径よりも小さいことが好ましい。かかる構成とすることで、刷掃中において歯茎に接触しやすい外側用毛23により、歯茎への刺激を緩和しつつ、中央用毛13により歯頸部の清掃性を向上できる。
加えて、中央毛束群は、外側毛束群に比べて植毛密度が低いものとされているため、個々の中央用毛の動きの自由度が確保され、中央用毛が歯周ポケットや歯間部に用意に入り込んで歯頸部を良好に清掃できる。さらに、中央用毛の動きが一対の外側毛束群により適度に制御されるため、中央用毛は、歯垢の除去に必要な毛腰が確保され、歯頸部を良好に清掃できる。
また、外側毛束は、中央毛束と同様に、平面視楕円形の楕円柱状でもよいし、平面視三角形、四角形、及び五角形等の多角柱状でもよい。
また、外側植毛穴は、中央植毛穴と同様に、平面視楕円形の有底筒状でもよいし、平面視三角形、四角形、及び五角形等の有底多角筒状等でもよい。
また、上述の実施形態では、全ての外側植毛穴の直径が略同等をされているが、本発明はこれに限定されず、全ての外側植毛穴の直径は、相互に異なっていてもよいし、一部の外側植毛穴の直径と他の外側植毛穴の直径とが異なっていてもよい。
また、外側用毛は、中央用毛と同様に、その長さ方向にわたって均一な直径のものであってもよいし、先端が半球面又は植毛面に平行な面とされていてもよい。ただし、歯茎への当たり心地を優しいものとする観点から、外側毛束の一部の外側用毛がテーパー毛であることが好ましく、外側毛束の全ての外側用毛がテーパー毛であることがより好ましい。
加えて、中央用毛又は外側用毛のいずれか一方をテーパー毛で構成してもよい。
ただし、歯頸部の清掃を良好に行う観点から、中央毛束の毛丈が外側毛束の毛丈より長いことが好ましい。
また、第一の外側毛束群を構成する外側毛束の数と、第二の外側毛束群を構成する外側毛束の数とは、同じであってもよいし、異なってもよい。
また、上述の実施形態では、全ての外側毛束の毛束径が略同等とされているが、例えば、外側毛束の毛束径が相互に異なっていてもよい。ただし、外側毛束の先端から歯茎にかかる圧力を各外側毛束で均一とし、外側毛束群全体の当たり心地を優しいものとする観点から、全ての外側毛束の毛束径は略同等であることが好ましい。
各例の歯ブラシについて、下記の方法で当たり心地と歯頸部の清掃性を評価した。なお、歯頸部の清掃性は、「歯頸部挿入実感」及び「歯頸部清掃実感」により評価した。
<当たり心地の評価>
当たり心地は、モニター10人が各例の歯ブラシを使用し、歯茎への当たり心地を下記の評価基準にて評価した。モニター10人の平均点が2.5点以上を「A」、平均点2.0点以上2.5点未満を「B」、平均点1.5点以上2.0点未満を「C」、平均点1.5点未満を「D」とした。
3点:歯茎の痛みがなく、当たり心地が非常によい。
2点:歯茎の痛みがなく、当たり心地がよい。
1点:歯茎に、弱い痛みを感じる。
0点:歯茎に強い痛みを感じる。
歯頸部挿入実感は、モニター10人が各例の歯ブラシを使用し、歯頸部への挿入実感を下記評価基準にて評価した。モニター10人の平均点が2.5点以上を「A」、平均点2.0点以上2.5点未満を「B」、平均点1.5点以上2.0点未満を「C」、平均点1.5点未満を「D」とした。
3点:歯と歯茎との隙間に毛先が届く感触を非常に感じる。
2点:歯と歯茎との隙間に毛先が届く感触を感じる。
1点:歯と歯茎との隙間に毛先が届く感触をあまり感じない。
0点:歯と歯茎との隙間に毛先が届く感触を感じない。
歯頸部清掃実感は、モニター10人が各例の歯ブラシを使用し、歯頸部清掃実感を下記評価基準にて評価した。モニター10人の平均点が2.5点以上を「A」、平均点2.0点以上2.5点未満を「B」、平均点1.5点以上2.0点未満を「C」、平均点1.5点未満を「D」とした。
3点:歯と歯茎との隙間の汚れが落ちた感触を非常に感じる。
2点:歯と歯茎との隙間の汚れが落ちた感触を感じる。
1点:歯と歯茎との隙間の汚れが落ちた感触をあまり感じない。
0点:歯と歯茎との隙間の汚れが落ちた感触を感じない。
表1に示す仕様に従い、図1A及び図1Bの歯ブラシ1と同様に、テーパー毛(PBT製)を植設した歯ブラシを作製した。この歯ブラシは、千鳥状に植設された中央毛束からなる中央毛束群と、中央毛束群を挟み外側毛束からなる一対の外側毛束群とを備えるものである。第一の外側毛束群と第二の外側毛束群とは、各々同数の外側毛束で構成されたものである。
表中、「中央毛束当たりの中央用毛数」とは、1個の中央毛束を構成する中央用毛の数であり、「外側毛束当たりの外側用毛数」とは、1個の外側毛束を構成する外側用毛の数である。外側毛束群に関する仕様は、第一の外側毛束群及び第二の外側毛束群を合わせたものとして記載した。
得られた各例の歯ブラシについて、当たり心地、歯頸部挿入実感、及び歯頸部清掃実感を評価し、その結果を表1に示す。
この結果から、本発明を適用することで、歯茎への優しい当たり心地と、歯頸部の清掃性との両立が図れることが判った。

Claims (5)
- 先端にヘッド部が設けられたハンドル体を備え、前記ヘッド部の植毛面に形成された2以上の植毛穴に用毛の毛束が植設された歯ブラシにおいて、
前記植毛面には、前記ハンドル体の軸線方向に並設され、かつ前記植毛面の略中央に位置した2以上の中央毛束からなる中央毛束群と、前記ハンドル体の軸線に直交する方向で前記中央毛束群を挟んで植設された2以上の外側毛束からなる一対の外側毛束群とが備えられ、
前記中央毛束群の最外周に位置する前記中央毛束が植設された前記植毛穴の外縁を結んだ環状線によって囲まれた領域を中央植毛領域とし、前記中央毛束群を構成する用毛の総本数を前記中央植毛領域の面積で除した値を中央植毛密度とし、
一方の前記外側毛束群の最外周に位置する前記外側毛束が植設された前記植毛穴の外縁を結んだ環状線によって囲まれた領域を第一の外側植毛領域とし、他方の前記外側毛束群の最外周に位置する前記外側毛束が植設された前記植毛穴の外縁を結んだ環状線によって囲まれた領域を第二の外側植毛領域とし、前記一対の外側毛束群を構成する用毛の総本数を前記第一の外側植毛領域の面積と前記第二の外側植毛領域の面積との和で除した値を外側植毛密度とし、
