上述のように、この実施形態では、ブランク形成工程で形成された凹部102を位相基準として、フランジ111の端面111aを軸方向基準として、フランジ111の外周面111bを径方向基準として使用して、循環溝形成工程と転動溝形成工程を行っている。これにより、ボール循環溝103とボール転動溝108が、ナットの軸方向、周方向、径方向にずれた状態で形成されることが防止される。
なお、この実施形態では、転動溝加工工程を面取り部113,114の仕上げ加工工程の前に行っているが、ブランク101を保持部材109で保持した状態で面取り部113,114の仕上げ加工工程を行った後に、ブランク101を保持部材109から外さないで転動溝加工工程を行ってもよい。また、切削加工による転動溝形成工程等を終えたブランク101に対しては、ボール転動溝等の必要箇所に所望の熱処理を施してもよい。
この例では、両工程でブランク101が各保持部材に対して径方向にずれた状態で保持された結果、ボール循環溝103が径方向で正しい位置から外側にずれて形成された後、ボール転動溝108が正しい位置に形成されている。そのため、この例では、ボール循環溝103のみが設計値より深く形成されるため、ボール転動溝108からボール循環溝103へ移動するボールに加わる衝撃が大きくなる。これに対して、この実施形態の方法では、両工程で、同じフランジ111の外周面111bを径方向基準として使用したため、このような状態になることが防止できる。
図9(c)では、軸方向に延びるキー溝状の凹部102を、フランジ111の外周面の周方向3カ所に、異なる間隔で形成している。
図9(d)では、フランジ111の外周面の1カ所に、円形のピン穴102aを形成している。
図9(e)では、フランジ111の外周面の1カ所に、外周面の一部を平面で切欠いた切欠き面102bを形成している。
第2実施形態は、ボールねじ用のナットの製造方法に関する。
ボールねじは、外周面に転動体転動溝(以下、単に転動溝ということもある)が形成されたねじ軸と、ねじ軸の螺旋溝と対向する螺旋溝が内周面に形成されたナットと、ねじ軸の転動溝とナットの転動溝とで形成される空間において転動自在なボールと、を備え、ボールが転動することでナットがねじ軸に対して相対移動する装置である。
そして、ボールねじには、ナットの内周面にS字形状の循環溝により、ボール戻し経路が実現されているものがある(例えば特許文献2,3,6を参照)。
図23(a)から(b)への変化として示すように、循環溝形成工程では、パンチ、プレス加工や前述したカム機構などによる塑性加工により、ナット用素材250の内周面250aに対して循環溝251を形成する。
ここで、センタリングは、内周面250aを利用して行っても外周面を利用して行っても良いが、転動溝252をナット用素材250の内周面250aに形成しなければならない等の理由から、外周面を利用して行うことが望ましい。
そして、そのような部位250cを利用して軸方向の基準を決めたり、センタリングを行ったりして、転動溝形成工程において転動溝を切削すると、転動溝について、軸方向へのずれや径方向へのずれが生じてしまう。
図25(a)に実線で示すように、転動溝252の軸方向へのずれにより、循環溝251と転動溝252との間に段差ができてしまうと、ボールが円滑に循環できなくなる。なお、転動溝252の軸方向へのずれがない場合、二点鎖線に示すように、循環溝251は、転動溝252と段差なく接続される。
また、図25(b)に破線で示すように、転動溝252の半径方向へのずれにより、転動溝252が深く形成されるため、転動溝252から循環溝251に移動するボールに加わる衝撃が大きくなる。なお、二点鎖線に示す転動溝252が、正しい位置に形成されたものを示す。
前記課題を解決するため、第2実施形態は、ねじ軸の外周面に形成された転動体転動溝と対向するように内周面に転動体転動溝を有するとともに、少なくとも1条の該転動体転動溝の両端部を接続する循環溝を内周面に有し、該転動体転動溝と前記ねじ軸の転動体転動溝とで形成される空間及び前記循環溝においてボールを転動自在に保持するボールねじ用のナットを製造するボールねじ用のナットの製造方法において、前記内周面に循環溝形成部材を押し込んで塑性加工により前記循環溝を形成する循環溝形成工程と、前記循環溝が形成された前記ナットについて、周方向における前記循環溝の形成部位を含む該循環溝の形成部位にかかる軸方向の部位以外の部位を位置決めの基準として溝形成装置に固定し、前記溝形成装置により前記ナットの内周面に前記転動体転動溝を形成する転動溝形成工程と、を有することを特徴とするボールねじ用のナットの製造方法である。
さらに、上記のようなボールねじ用のナットの製造方法においては、前記位置決めの基準とした部位の軸方向の端部となる前記ナットの端面を軸方向の位置決めの基準として前記溝形成装置に固定することが好ましい。
また、上記のようなボールねじ用のナットの製造方法においては、前記周方向における前記循環溝の形成部位を含む該循環溝の形成部位にかかる軸方向の部位以外の部位は、前記循環溝形成工程でも前記循環溝を形成するときの位置決めの基準であったことが好ましい。
第2実施形態に係るボールねじ用のナットの製造方法の一例を、図面を参照しながら詳細に説明する。第2実施形態は、前記課題を解決するものであり、第1実施形態をさらに改良したものである。
本実施形態は、ボールねじのナット製造方法である。本実施形態について、ボールねじのナット製造方法における循環溝形成工程、その後の転動溝形成工程を説明する。
(循環溝形成工程)
図10は、循環溝形成工程においてブランクであるナット用素材230の内周面230aに循環溝を形成する際の様子を示す。
保持部材202は、上下方向で二分割された分割体202a,202bからなる。下側分割体202bにナット用素材230の凹部233を嵌める凸部202cが形成されている。
図11及び図12は、転動溝形成工程において溝形成装置210によりナット用素材230の内周面230aに転動溝を形成する際の様子を示す。図11は斜視図であり、図12は断面図である。
転動溝形成工程では、ナット用素材230は、溝形成装置210に対して、軸方向、周方向、及び径方向(センタリング)それぞれで位置決めされ取り付けられている。
また、前述の循環溝形成工程において位相基準となる凹部233は、このような凹部234を併用しても良い。
取り付け部212は、本体部211よりも小径の略円盤形状をなしている。この取り付け部212には、側面212aの外周部に、軸方向基準及び周方向基準となる凸部212bが形成されている。本実施形態では、図14に示した3箇所に凹部234を有するナット用素材230に対応して、凸部212bは、側面212aの外周部に周方向において等間隔に3箇所形成されている。
図15に示すように、ナット用素材230の周方向において、クランプ213は、循環溝非形成位相部位(図15中に矢示する部位)230fの外周面230gを把持している。そして、図16に示すように、クランプ213は、その外周面230gの軸方向における中間部位(図15中に矢印で示す部位)を把持している。このように、クランプ213は、循環溝非形成位相部位230fの外周面230gであり、かつその軸方向における中間部位を把持している。
図17は、転動溝形成工程で行う転動溝の切削加工を示す。なお、図17では、切削加工工程におけるナット用素材230と切削加工工具(ヘリカルカッター214及び切削工具215,216)との関係を示し、溝形成装置210におけるクランプ213等の構成を省略している。
本実施形態では、内周面230aに加工ヘッド201(凸部201b)を押し込んで塑性加工により循環溝231が形成されたナット用素材230について、周方向における循環溝231の形成部位を含む該循環溝231の形成部位にかかる軸方向の部位以外の部位、すなわち循環溝非形成位相部位230fを位置決めの基準として溝形成装置210に固定し、溝形成装置210によりナット用素材230の内周面230aに転動溝232を形成している。
本実施形態では、以上のように位置決めして溝形成装置210に固定したことで、循環溝231の形成によるナット用素材230の変形の影響を受けることなく、該ナット用素材230の内周面230aに転動溝232を形成することができる。
循環溝231は、円周方向には等間隔で形成されているが、軸方位には対称性がなく形成されている。そのため、周方向の循環溝231のない位相でも、内周面230aや外周面230eには、軸方向にわずかであるが、テーパーやゆがみを伴う変形が発生することが推定される。
これに対して、本実施形態では、クランプ213の把持位置を、循環溝非形成位相部位230fの外周面230gにおける軸方向の中間部位としたことで、循環溝231のPCD(ピッチ円直径、Pitch Circle Diameter )の中心(各循環溝底のポイントを結んでできる円弧の中心)と転動溝232の螺旋中心の同軸度を保つことができ、両溝のつなぎ部の半径方向段差を極力小さくすることができる。
これにより、本実施形態では、ナット用素材230の周方向の対称性を保つようにして位置決めすることができる。
これにより、本実施形態では、循環溝231と転動溝232とを滑らかにつなぐことができる。
本実施形態では、取り付け部212の凸部212bの形状を具体的に説明したが、これに限定されるものではない。
図19及び図20は、そのような凸部相当の他の形状を示す。図19は斜視図であり、図20は正面図である。
図19及び図20に示すように、取り付け部212の側面212aの外周部には、突起部212cが形成されている。突起部212cは、側面212aから突出している第1凸部212c1と、第1凸部212c1の上面から突出し該第1凸部212c1よりも周方向の長さが短い形状の第2凸部212c2とを有する。すなわち、前述の第2実施形態では、凸部212bは側面212aに対して1段に形成されているのに対して、第2実施形態の変形例では、突起部212cは側面212aに対して2段に形成されている。
これにより、ナット用素材230は、端面230dの凹部234が第2凸部212c2(少なくとも1箇所に形成されている第2凸部212c2)に嵌められることで、周方向の位置決めがなされる。さらに、ナット用素材230は、端面230dにおける凹部234の隣接部位が第1凸部212c1に突き当てられることで、軸方向の位置決めがなされる。
図21は、ナット用素材230の内周面230aをクランプ220で把持する場合を示す。図21(a)は、ナット用素材230の内周面230aをクランプ220で把持するときの様子を示す斜視図であり、図21(b)は、ナット用素材230の内周面230aをクランプ220で把持した後の様子を示す平面図である。
図22は、内周面230aをクランプ220で把持したナット用素材230に対する切削加工の例を示す。
また、本実施形態は、少なくとも1箇所に循環溝を有するナット用素材に適用することができる。
第3実施形態は、ボールねじのナットの製造方法に関し、特に、実質的に循環溝自体を加工基準として用いて転動溝の加工位置を定め、転動溝と共に内周面に循環溝が一体に形成されたナットを製造する方法に関する。
従来より、自動車・鉄道・船舶・産業機械をはじめとする各種機械の電動アクチュエータ等に用いられるボールねじとして、ナットの内周面に転動溝と共に循環溝が一体に形成されたボールねじが開発されている。
この特許文献4の技術によれば、鍛造加工等を用いないため、低コストで高精度な循環溝と転動溝とを形成することができるとしている。また、切削工程を削減できるので、ナットの大量生産が可能としている。
ばらつき、循環溝と転動溝との位置ズレが発生することがある。これは、位相基準マークの形成位置自体が位置ズレしやすいことに起因する。また、塑性加工による循環溝の形成では、加工基準面からの溝の位置にバラツキが発生しやすい一方で、切削加工による転動溝の形成では、基準面からの転動溝の位置のバラツキが塑性加工に比べ、一般に小さいことに起因する。
そこで、第3実施形態は、上記の問題点に着目してなされたものであり、その目的は、循環溝と転動溝との軸方向のズレを低減させるボールねじのナットの製造方法を提供することにある。
また、上記のようなボールねじのナットの製造方法においては、前記循環溝位置特定工程が、前記加工対象を搬送する搬送装置のチャック装置によって、少なくとも前記循環溝を直接把持された状態で、前記加工原点に対して循環溝が所定の位置になるように前記加工対象が位置決めする工程であることが好ましい。
第3実施形態によれば、循環溝と転動溝との軸方向のズレを低減させるボールねじのナットの製造方法を提供することができる。
(第1例)
図26は、第3実施形態に係るボールねじのナットの製造方法の第1例を示すフローチャートである。また、図27は、第3実施形態に係るボールねじのナットの製造方法の第1例を示す図であり、(a)は循環溝形成工程が行われたナット及びチャック装置の概要を示す斜視図、(b)は第1の基準面形成工程を示す斜視図、(c)は第1の基準面を示す断面図、(d)は循環溝形成工程を示す断面図である。
ボールねじのナットの製造方法は、図26に示すように、循環溝形成工程S1と、第1の基準面形成工程S2と、転動溝形成工程S3とを含む。なお、以下の説明において、転動溝工程における転動溝の加工は、切削加工に限定して説明するが、転動溝に対する仕上げとしての研削加工を同様に行うことが好ましい。
循環溝形成工程は、中空円筒状の加工対象の内周面に対して、塑性加工によって循環溝を形成する工程である。
具体的には、まず、前工程によってフランジ323が形成されたブランクである中空円筒状の加工対象(以下、ワークと呼ぶ。)Wに対して、塑性加工により、ワークWの内周面320aに複数の循環溝322,322を形成する工程である。なお、例えば図6(b)に示すように、カム機構を備える金型を用いて塑性加工を行うことにより、循環溝231を形成してもよい。
第1の基準面形成工程は、前記循環溝形成工程の後、ワークWの軸方向の端面を切削加工して前記内周面と直交する第1の加工基準面を形成する工程である。具体的には、図27(a)に示すように、前記循環溝形成工程の後、まず、チャック装置350によってワークWが把持される。チャック装置350は、例えば、内径コレット方式のチャック装置であり、前記循環溝形成工程においてワークWの内周320aに形成された循環溝322,322に嵌合する嵌合部351,351を有している。なお、チャック装置350は、内径コレット方式のチャック装置の他に、内径3つ爪方式のチャック装置でもよい。
転動溝形成工程は、循環溝322が形成されたワークWの内周面320aに対して、転動溝321を形成する工程である。具体的には、まず、チャック装置350がワークWを把持した状態で、第1の加工基準面320bを治具基準面340に突き当てる(図27(d))。そして、第1の加工基準面320bが治具基準面340に突き当てられて固定されたワークWは、第1の基準面形成工程で設定された寸法を、加工基準面340を基準とした転動溝の加工位置として切削工具370を用いた切削加工が行われ、転動溝321が形成される。切削加工による転動溝形成工程を終えたワークWに対しては、転動溝等の必要箇所に所望の熱処理を施してもよい。
したがって、循環溝と転動溝との軸方向のズレを低減させるボールねじのナットの製造方法を提供することができる。
以下、第3実施形態の第2例について、図面を参照して説明する。第3実施形態の第2例に係るボールねじのナットの製造方法は、循環溝位置特定工程が前述の第1例と異なるだけであるので、第1例と同じ符号を付した同様の構成及び動作については説明を省略する。図28は、第3実施形態の第2例に係るボールねじのナットの製造方法を示す図であり、(a)は搬送状態を示す斜視図、(b)は加工機による加工対象のチャック状態を示す断面図である。
このように、第2例によれば、転動溝加工機に搬送する搬送装置が循環溝322を直接把持し、加工機内の決まった位置で離すため、特定される循環溝322の軸方向の位置がばらつかない。よって、循環溝と転動溝との軸方向のズレを低減させるボールねじのナットの製造方法を提供することができる。
以下、第3実施形態の第3例について、図面を参照して説明する。第3実施形態の第3例に係るボールねじのナットの製造方法は、加工位置補正工程を含む点が前述の第1例と異なるだけであるので、第1例と同じ符号を付した同様の構成及び動作については説明を省略する。
以下、第3実施形態の第4例について、図面を参照して説明する。第3実施形態の第4例に係るボールねじのナットの製造方法は、第2の基準面形成工程を含む点が前述の第1例と異なるだけであるので、第1例と同じ符号を付した同様の構成及び動作については説明を省略する。図31は、第3実施形態の第4例に係るボールねじのナットの製造方法の実施形態を示す図であり、(a)は循環溝形成工程が行われたナット及びチャック装置の概要を示す斜視図、(b)は第2の基準面形成工程を示す斜視図、(c)は第1の基準面を示す断面図、(d)は循環溝形成工程を示す断面図である。
第4例では、ナットに形成される循環溝と転動溝の半径方向のズレを低減するための第2の加工基準面を形成する第2の基準面形成工程が含まれる。
第2の基準面形成工程は、第1の加工基準面形成工程の後、ワークWの外周面を切削加工して前記内周面と平行な第2の加工基準面を形成する工程である。具体的には、図31(a)に示すように、第1の加工基準面形成工程の後に、まず、チャック装置350によってワークWが把持される。チャック装置350は、例えば、内径コレット方式のチャック装置であり、前記循環溝形成工程においてワークWの内周320aに形成された循環溝322,322に嵌合する嵌合部351,351を有している。なお、チャック装置350は、内径コレット方式のチャック装置の他に、内径3つ爪方式のチャック装置でもよい。
ここで、「半径方向のズレ」の原因としては、(1)循環溝形成時と転動溝切削時との各々で、ナットのセンタリングにズレが生じている場合、や、(2)循環溝形成前のワークの内外径の同心が大きくずれている場合、などが挙げられる。
以上、第3実施形態に係るボールねじのナットの製造方法について説明したが、第3実施形態は上記各例に限定されるものではなく、第3実施形態の趣旨を逸脱しなければ種々の変形が可能である。
第4実施形態は、ボールねじのナットの製造方法に関し、特に、加工機の原点に対する加工基準の位置に実質的に誤差がある場合であっても、計測により実質的に工具位置の補正を行うことにより対処して、転動溝と共に内周面に循環溝が一体に形成されたナットを製造する方法に関する。
このようなボールねじの製造方法として、ナットの内周面に塑性加工によって循環溝及び位相基準を形成して、その位相基準に基づいてナットの内周面に転動溝を形成する技術が開示されている(例えば、特許文献4)。
しかしながら、特許文献4に記載されたボールねじの製造方法においては、ワークの左端内周に位相基準マークを形成しただけでは、循環溝の塑性加工時にその軸方向位置がばらつき、循環溝と転動溝との位置ズレが発生することがある。これは、位相基準マークの形成位置自体が位置ズレしやすいことに起因する。また、塑性加工による循環溝の形成では、加工基準面からの溝の位置にバラツキが発生しやすい一方で、切削加工による転動溝の形成では、基準面からの転動溝の位置のバラツキが塑性加工に比べ、一般に小さいことに起因する。
そこで、第4実施形態は上記の問題点に着目してなされたものであり、その目的は、循環溝と転動溝との軸方向のズレを低減させるボールねじのナットの製造方法を提供することにある。
このような第4実施形態のボールねじのナットの製造方法においては、前記ナットの軸方向の端面を前記内周面と直交するように切削加工して加工基準面を形成する加工基準面形成工程を含むことが好ましい。そうすれば、循環溝の位置を計測する基準を、前記ナット(ワーク)の軸方向の端面を前記内周面と直交するように切削加工して形成された加工基準面とすることで、循環溝の位置をさらに正確に特定することができる。
第4実施形態によれば、循環溝と転動溝との軸方向のズレを低減させるボールねじのナットの製造方法を提供することができる。
図32は、第4実施形態に係るボールねじのナットの製造方法の一例を示すフローチャートである。また、図33は、第4実施形態に係るボールねじのナットの製造方法の一例を示す図であり、(a)は循環溝形成工程が行われたナットの概要を示す部分断面図、(b)は基準となる端面を示す断面図、(c)は加工位置補正工程を示す断面図、(d)は転動溝形成工程を示す断面図である。また、図34は、第4実施形態に係るボールねじのナットの製造方法の変形例を示す図であり、(a)は循環溝形成工程が行われたナットの概要を示す部分断面図、(b)は加工位置補正工程を示す断面図、(c)は基準となる端面を示す断面図、(d)は転動溝形成工程を示す断面図である。さらに、図35は、第4実施形態に係るボールねじのナットの製造方法の変形例を示す図であり、(a)は循環溝形成工程が行われたナット及びチャック装置の概要を示す斜視図、(b)は加工基準面形成工程を示す斜視図、(c)は加工基準面を示す断面図である。
このボールねじのナットの製造方法は、図32に示すように、循環溝形成工程S1と、加工位置補正工程S2と、転動溝形成工程S3とを含む。なお、以下の説明において、転動溝工程における転動溝の加工は、切削加工に限定して説明するが、転動溝に対する仕上げとしての研削加工を同様に行うことが好ましい。
循環溝形成工程は、中空円筒状の加工対象の内周面に対して、塑性加工によって循環溝を形成する工程である。
具体的には、まず、前工程によってフランジ423が形成されたブランクとしての中空円筒状の加工対象(以下、ワークと呼ぶ。)Wに対して、塑性加工により、ワークWの内周面420aに複数の循環溝422,422を形成する工程である。なお、例えば図6(b)に示すように、カム機構を備える金型を用いて塑性加工を行うことにより、循環溝422を形成してもよい。
加工位置補正工程は、転動溝形成工程前において、治具にセットされたワークWの循環溝422の位置に基づいて、切削工具470の加工位置を補正する工程である。具体的には、まず、前述の循環溝形成工程において、内周面420aに循環溝422が形成され(図33(a))、ワークW(ナット420)の軸方向の端面420bを治具基準面490に突き当てて把持される(図33(b))。この端面420bが循環溝の位置を特定するための基準面となる。
転動溝形成工程は、循環溝422が形成されたワークWの内周面420aに対して、転動溝421を形成する工程である。具体的には、まず、搬送チャック装置(図示せず)がワークWを把持した状態で、端面420bを治具基準面490に突き当てる(図33(d))。このとき、搬送チャック装置における循環溝422の位置、及び治具基準面490に対する搬送チャック装置の位置に関する情報が、図示しない制御装置に送信され、かかる制御装置によって治具基準面490と循環溝422との距離が算出される。
また、第4実施形態の別の変形例として、図35に示すように、加工基準面形成工程を含んでもよい。
加工基準面形成工程は、前記循環溝形成工程の後、ワークWの軸方向の端面を切削加工して前記内周面と直交する加工基準面を形成する工程である。具体的には、図35(a)に示すように、前記循環溝形成工程の後、まず、チャック装置450によってワークWが把持される。チャック装置450は、例えば、内径コレット方式のチャック装置であり、前記循環溝形成工程においてワークWの内周420aに形成された循環溝422,422に嵌合する嵌合部451,451を有している。なお、チャック装置450は、内径コレット方式のチャック装置の他に、内径3つ爪方式のチャック装置でもよい。
以上説明したように、第4実施形態によれば、転動溝形成工程において、内周面420aと直交するように形成された端面(加工基準面)420bを基準に転動溝421が形成される。すなわち、端面(加工基準面)420bを治具基準面490に突き当てて把持されたワークWは、切削機械の加工原点に対し、循環溝422の軸方向のズレが軽減された状態で転動溝421が形成されることとなる。
以上、第4実施形態に係るボールねじのナットの製造方法の実施形態について説明したが、第4実施形態は上記の例に限定されるものではなく、第4実施形態の趣旨を逸脱しなければ種々の変形が可能である。
第5実施形態は、ボールねじ及びその製造方法、並びに、ボールねじの製造に使用される金型に関する。
ボールねじは、螺旋状のねじ溝を外周面に有するねじ軸と、ねじ軸のねじ溝に対向するねじ溝を内周面に有するナットと、両ねじ溝により形成される螺旋状のボール転動路内に転動自在に装填された複数のボールと、からなる。そして、ボールを介してねじ軸に螺合されているナットとねじ軸とを相対回転運動させると、ボールの転動を介してねじ軸とナットとが軸方向に相対移動するようになっている。
また、前記凹溝及び前記窪みは、金型に設けられた凸部を前記ナットの内周面に押圧し塑性加工して前記内周面の一部を凹化させることにより、同時に形成されたものであることが好ましい。
また、前記加工基準点は前記ナットの内周面の軸方向端部に設けてもよい。この前記ナットの内周面の軸方向端部に設けられた前記加工基準点は、前記ボール循環路の長手方向中央部と同位相の位置に設けることが好ましい。
また、第5実施形態のボールねじの製造方法においては、金型に設けられた凸部を前記ナットの内周面に押圧し塑性加工することにより前記内周面の一部を凹化させて、前記凹溝及び前記窪みを同時に形成することが好ましい。
また、前記加工基準点は、前記ナットの内周面の軸方向端部に設けてもよい。この前記ナットの内周面の軸方向端部に設けられる前記加工基準点は、前記ボール循環路の長手方向中央部と同位相の位置に設けることが好ましい。
さらに、第5実施形態の他の態様の金型は、螺旋状のねじ溝を外周面に有するねじ軸と、前記ねじ軸のねじ溝に対向するねじ溝を内周面に有するナットと、前記両ねじ溝により形成される螺旋状のボール転動路に転動自在に装填された複数のボールと、前記ボールを前記ボール転動路の終点から始点へ戻し循環させるボール循環路と、を備えるボールねじの製造に使用される金型において、前記ナットの内周面に押圧して塑性加工することにより前記ナットの内周面の一部を凹化させて、前記ボール循環路を構成する凹溝、及び、前記ナットのねじ溝を形成する位置の基準となる加工基準点である窪みを同時に形成するための凸部を備えることを特徴とする。
また、第5実施形態のボールねじの製造方法は、ボール循環路に対して所定の位置に設けられた加工基準点に基づいてナットのねじ溝を形成する位置を決定し、該位置にナットのねじ溝を形成する工程を備えているので、ボール循環路に対するナットのねじ溝の形成位置が正確で高精度なボールねじを製造することができる。
第5実施形態に係るボールねじ及びその製造方法、並びに、ボールねじの製造に使用される金型の実施の形態を、図面を参照しながら詳細に説明する。
まず、円柱状の素材(図示せず)を慣用の方法により加工し、略円筒形状(ナット5と略同一形状)のブランクを得る。そして、このブランクを鍛造等の加工に好適な素材硬度に調整した後、内周面に鍛造等の塑性加工又は切削加工により凹溝20を形成し、ボール循環路11とする(ボール循環路形成工程)。
そして、ブランクの内周面に切削加工により、ナット5のねじ溝5aを形成する(ねじ溝形成工程)。このとき、加工基準点の形成位置を検出し、この形成位置に基づいてナット5のねじ溝5aを形成する位置を決定して、該位置にナット5のねじ溝5aを形成する。そうすれば、ボール循環路11の形成位置に対して正確な位置にナット5のねじ溝5aを形成することができる。
なお、本実施形態のボールねじ1は、上記のようなボール循環路11を用いたボール循環形式を採用しているので、ボール循環路を構成する別部材(例えばリターンチューブ,コマ)をナット5に取り付ける必要がない。ボール循環形式がチューブ式やコマ式である場合は、ボール循環路を構成する部材とナットとが別体であり、チューブ式の場合はリターンチューブがナットの外周面に、コマ式の場合はコマがコマ穴に取り付けられる。そのため、ナットの外周面のうちリターンチューブやコマが設けられている部分には、フランジ等を形成することはできず、ナットの外周面の設計に制限があった。
〔実施例1〕
略円筒形状(ナット5と略同一形状)のブランク30の内周面に、図示しない金型を用いた塑性加工により、ボール循環路11を構成する凹溝20と加工基準点を構成する例えば円錐状の窪み22とを形成した(図36の(a),(b)を参照)。すなわち、凹溝20に対応する形状の第一凸部と、窪み22に対応する形状の第二凸部とを有する金型をブランク30内に挿入し、ブランク30の内周面に金型の両凸部を接触させ、ブランク30の内周面に向かって金型を強く押圧することにより塑性加工して、凹溝20及び窪み22を同時に形成した。
次に、加工基準点である窪み22の形成位置を検出し、この形成位置に基づいてナット5のねじ溝5aを形成する位置を決定して、該位置にナット5のねじ溝5aを切削工具32により形成した。最後に、所望の条件で浸炭,浸炭窒化,焼入れ,焼戻し,高周波焼入れ等の熱処理を施して、ナット5を得た。
窪み22の形成位置以外は実施例1とほぼ同様であるので、異なる点のみ説明し、同様の部分の説明は省略する。
加工基準点である窪み22は、前述のような金型を用いて、ナット5の内周面のうち凹溝20内の部分で、且つ、凹溝20の長手方向中央部に設けられている(図41の(a),(b)を参照)。
窪み22の形成位置の検出は、実施例1の場合と同様にして行うことができるが、窪み22が凹溝20の内部に設けられているので、ボール循環路11の形成位置をより正確に検出することができる。また、窪み22の形成位置と同時に、凹溝20の深さも検出することが可能である。よって、ボール循環路11の寸法管理が容易となる。
窪み22の形成位置以外は実施例1とほぼ同様であるので、異なる点のみ説明し、同様の部分の説明は省略する。
加工基準点である窪み22は、前述のような金型を用いて、ナット5の内周面の軸方向端部に設けられている(図42の(a),(b)を参照)。そして、この窪み22は、凹溝20の長手方向中央部と同位相の位置に設けられている。この窪み22の形状は特に限定されるものではないが、形成位置がナット5の内周面の軸方向端部であることから、三角錐状とすることが好ましい。
窪み22の形成位置以外は実施例1とほぼ同様であるので、異なる点のみ説明し、同様の部分の説明は省略する。
加工基準点である窪み22は、前述のような金型を用いて、ナット5の内周面のうち凹溝20の延長線上(ナット5のねじ溝5aが形成される位置)に設けられている(図44の(a),(b)を参照)。
窪み22の形成位置の検出は、実施例1の場合と同様にして行うことができるが、窪み22が凹溝20の延長線上(ナット5のねじ溝5aが形成される位置)に設けられているので、ナット5に前述のねじ溝5aの切削加工を施す際に、窪み22を同時に除去することが可能となる。
実施例5では、加工基準点として、実施例1~4のような窪み22ではなく突起23を設けている。その他の部分は実施例1とほぼ同様であるので、異なる点のみ説明し、同様の部分の説明は省略する。
実施例5では、ナット5の内周面に、ナット5のねじ溝5aを形成する位置の基準となる加工基準点である突起23を、ナット5の内周面の軸方向端部に設けている(図45及び図46(a)を参照)。

Claims (25)
- ボールを転動させる軌道をねじ軸の螺旋溝とともに形成するボール転動溝と、前記軌道の終点から始点にボールを戻すボール循環溝とが、内周面に形成されているボールねじ用ナットを製造するボールねじ用ナットの製造方法であって、
ナット用素材から筒状のブランクを形成するブランク形成工程と、
前記ブランクの内周面に前記ボール循環溝を形成する循環溝形成工程と、
前記ブランクの内周面に前記ボール転動溝を形成する転動溝形成工程と、を有し、
前記転動溝形成工程よりも前の工程で加工基準を形成し、前記加工基準が設定できる保持部材を使用して、前記循環溝形成工程の後に前記転動溝形成工程を行うことを特徴とするボールねじ用ナットの製造方法。 - 前記循環溝形成工程における前記ボール循環溝の形成を塑性加工で行うことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のボールねじ用ナットの製造方法。
- カム機構を備える金型を用いて前記塑性加工を行うことを特徴とする請求項2に記載のボールねじ用ナットの製造方法。
- 前記加工基準は、前記ブランク形成工程で形成される位相基準、軸方向基準、及び径方向基準を備え、前記循環溝形成工程及び前記転動溝形成工程で共通に使用されることを特徴とする請求項1~3のいずれか一項に記載のボールねじ用ナットの製造方法。
- 前記ブランク形成工程では、前記位相基準を、前記ブランクの端面又は外周面に形成し、前記ブランクの内周面及び軸方向一端面と、この軸方向一端面に連続する外周面とに対して、連続的に仕上げ加工を行い、前記軸方向一端面を前記軸方向基準とし、前記外周面を前記径方向基準とする請求項4に記載のボールねじ用ナットの製造方法。
- 前記ブランクは軸方向一端にフランジを有し、前記ブランク形成工程で、前記フランジの端面又は外周面に前記位相基準を形成する請求項4又は請求項5に記載のボールねじ用ナットの製造方法。
- 前記ブランクの内周面の軸方向両端の面取り部を仕上げ加工する工程を、前記転動溝形成工程を行う保持部材で前記ブランクを保持した状態で行う請求項1~6のいずれか一項に記載のボールねじ用ナットの製造方法。
- 前記面取り部の仕上げ加工後に、前記仕上げ加工された面取り部を基準にして前記ブランクの外周面を仕上げ加工する請求項7に記載のボールねじ用ナットの製造方法。
- 前記転動溝形成工程は、前記ブランクの軸方向両端間にわたって軸方向に延びる部位のうち前記ボール循環溝の形成部位を含まない部位を前記位相基準として、前記ボール循環溝が形成された前記ブランクを溝形成装置に固定し、前記溝形成装置により前記ブランクの内周面に前記ボール転動溝を形成することを特徴とする請求項4に記載のボールねじ用ナットの製造方法。
- 前記位相基準とした部位の外周面における軸方向の中間部位を前記径方向基準として、前記ボール循環溝が形成された前記ブランクを前記溝形成装置に固定することを特徴とする請求項9に記載のボールねじ用ナットの製造方法。
- 前記位相基準とした部位の軸方向の端部となる前記ブランクの端面を前記軸方向基準として、前記ボール循環溝が形成された前記ブランクを前記溝形成装置に固定することを特徴とする請求項9又は請求項10に記載のボールねじ用ナットの製造方法。
- 前記位相基準は前記ブランクの端面に形成され、前記溝形成装置側の部材と嵌合する形状をなしていることを特徴とする請求項9に記載のボールねじ用ナットの製造方法。
- 前記循環溝形成工程の後に、前記転動溝形成工程における前記ボール転動溝の形成の加工原点に対して前記ボール循環溝の軸方向位置を特定する循環溝位置特定工程を行い、前記ボール循環溝の軸方向位置に基づいて、その位置から前記転動溝形成工程の前記ボール転動溝の形成が行われることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のボールねじ用ナットの製造方法。
- 前記循環溝位置特定工程は、チャック装置によって少なくとも前記ボール循環溝を直接把持された状態で、加工対象である前記ブランクの軸方向の端面を切削加工して、前記ボール循環溝に対する前記加工対象の軸方向端面位置を定めるための第1の加工基準面を形成する第1の基準面形成工程を含み、前記第1の加工基準面を治具基準面に突き当てたときの、前記チャック装置における前記ボール循環溝の位置及び前記第1の加工基準面の位置に基づいて、前記治具基準面に対する前記ボール循環溝の位置を特定する工程であることを特徴とする請求項13に記載のボールねじ用ナットの製造方法。
- 前記循環溝位置特定工程は、前記チャック装置によって少なくとも前記ボール循環溝を直接把持された状態で、前記加工対象の外周面を切削加工して前記ボール循環溝のPCD中心と同軸な第2の加工基準面を形成する第2の基準面形成工程を、前記第1の基準面形成工程の後に含み、前記第1の加工基準面を前記治具基準面に突き当てたときの、前記チャック装置における前記ボール循環溝の位置及び前記第2の加工基準面の位置に基づいて、前記第2の加工基準面に対する前記ボール循環溝の位置を特定し、その位置から前記転動溝形成工程の前記ボール転動溝の形成が行われることを特徴とする請求項14に記載のボールねじ用ナットの製造方法。
- 前記循環溝位置特定工程は、加工対象である前記ブランクを搬送する搬送装置のチャック装置によって、少なくとも前記ボール循環溝を直接把持された状態で、前記加工原点に対して前記ボール循環溝が所定の位置になるように前記加工対象が位置決めする工程であることを特徴とする請求項13に記載のボールねじ用ナットの製造方法。
- 前記転動溝形成工程は、前記ブランクの内周面に切削工具を用いた切削加工によって前記ボール転動溝を形成する工程であり、
前記転動溝形成工程よりも前に、前記ブランクの軸方向端面を軸方向基準として前記ボール循環溝の位置を計測し、その計測結果に基づいて前記切削工具の加工位置を補正する加工位置補正工程を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のボールねじ用ナットの製造方法。 - 前記ブランクの軸方向端面を前記内周面と直交するように切削加工して加工基準面を形成する加工基準面形成工程を含むことを特徴とする請求項17に記載のボールねじ用ナットの製造方法。
- 前記加工基準を、前記循環溝形成工程において前記ボール循環溝と同時に塑性加工により形成することを特徴とする請求項2に記載のボールねじ用ナットの製造方法。
- 螺旋溝を外周面に有するねじ軸と、前記ねじ軸の螺旋溝に対向するボール転動溝を内周面に有するナットと、前記螺旋溝と前記ボール転動溝とにより形成される軌道に転動自在に配された複数のボールと、前記軌道の終点から始点へ前記ボールを戻し循環するボール循環溝と、を備え、前記ボール循環溝は、前記ナットの内周面の一部を凹化させてなる凹溝で構成されており、前記ナットのボール転動溝は、前記ボール循環溝に対して所定の位置に設けられた加工基準に基づいて決定された位置に形成されたものであることを特徴とするボールねじ。
- 前記加工基準は、前記ナットの軸方向端面又は外周面に設けられた位相基準を含むことを特徴とする請求項20に記載のボールねじ。
- 前記位相基準は、前記ナットの軸方向両端間にわたって軸方向に延びる部位のうち前記ボール循環溝の形成部位を含まない部位に設けられていることを特徴とする請求項20に記載のボールねじ。
- 前記加工基準は、前記ナットの内周面に形成された窪みであることを特徴とする請求項20に記載のボールねじ。
- 前記加工基準は、前記ナットの内周面に形成された突起であることを特徴とする請求項20に記載のボールねじ。
- 前記凹溝及び前記加工基準は、金型を前記ナットの内周面に押圧し塑性加工することにより、前記内周面に同時に形成されたものであることを特徴とする請求項23又は請求項24に記載のボールねじ。
