 酸素の存在下、(a)アルデヒドとアルコール、又は、(b)1種もしくは2種以上のアルコール、を反応させてカルボン酸エステルを製造する際に用いられる触媒であって、  酸化状態のニッケルと、X(Xはニッケル、パラジウム、白金、ルテニウム、金、銀及び銅からなる群から選択される少なくとも1種の元素を示す)と、が担体にNi/(Ni+X)原子比で0.20~0.99の範囲で担持されたカルボン酸エステル製造用触媒。
