Abstract

 比較的低コストな粒状触媒を用い、改質器の大型化、補機の所用動力や大型化を抑えつつ、触媒層の温度分布をより均一にすることのできる改質器と、コストの増大を抑えつつもよりコンパクトな間接内部改質型高温型燃料電池を提供する。水蒸気改質反応を利用して炭化水素系燃料から水素含有ガスを製造する改質器であって、反応容器と反応容器内に水蒸気改質能を有する粒状触媒が充填された改質触媒層を有する改質器において、改質触媒層を少なくとも二つに区画する仕切り板を有し、仕切り板の熱伝導率が触媒層の有効熱伝導率より高く、仕切り板が反応容器の定格運転時においてより高温の部分からより低温の部分に向かって延在する改質器。この改質器と水素含有ガスを用いて発電を行う高温型燃料電池とを有し、改質器が高温型燃料電池からの熱輻射を受ける位置に配された間接内部改質型高温型燃料電池。
