Definitions

  • the invention relates to a road marking device for producing profiled horizontal markings, which are often also referred to as horizontal structural markings.
  • Profiled markings in particular as lane delimitation and center lines, are mainly used to achieve good night visibility when wet on roads or other traffic surfaces, because they allow water to run off well and the profiles are clearly visible in the headlights of cars, in particular, if these markings are covered with reflective beads.
  • Previously known marking devices for producing profiled horizontal markings work with a rotating roller, which is installed below a drawing box with an outlet slot for the marking compound (for example patent specification CH 678 955 A5). During the movement of the marking device, the flowable marking mass falls out of the outlet slot onto the rotating roller and is thrown onto the street by the latter, the marking material being torn apart and divided into parts of different sizes which adhere to the street. This creates a strip of irregularly distributed material areas that have irregular raised profiles.

  • the road marking device is characterized in that it has a material container for receiving the marking material with a base which is at least partially designed as a perforated plate and a slide which can be moved parallel to the base and which has a position closing the holes in the perforated plate and one of these holes can take a releasing position.
