Abstract

Dans un agrégat de fusion composé d'un four à arc (1) et d'un puits (2) de préchauffage des matières chargées agencé à côté du four, les parois extérieures du puits de préchauffage sont formées dans leur partie inférieure par la paroi (5) du récipient du four et en-dessus de la première partie par les parois d'un puits (10) fixé dans une structure de support (27). En déplaçant horizontalement l'un par rapport à l'autre le récipient (3) du four et la structure de support (27) avec le couvercle (6) du récipient, on peut charger sans entraves à travers le puits (10) les matières contenues dans un panier à ferrailles directement dans le récipient du four, ou dans des zones diverses du récipient (3) du four, atteintes en déplaçant le puits. Un obturateur (51) agencé dans le puits permet d'y retenir les matières chargées et de les y chauffer pendant la phase d'affinage.
