Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the temp. from lowering in the next molten metal receiving and an interior refractory material from spalling, by a method wherein a furnace opening of a metal-mixing vehicle from which molten metal has been expelled in a steel-making factory or molten slag has been exhausted in a slag-exhausting area is covered by an easily meltable or a breakable material and forwarded to a blast furnace.
CONSTITUTION: The molten metal is received in a metal-mixing vehicle from a blast furnace and, after desurfurized, transported to a steel-making factory and expelled to a steel-making furnace such as a converter or the like. Or, moreover, the molten slag remaining within a metal-mixing vehicle is exhaused in a slag-exhausting area and, thereafter, the furnace opening is covered by a molded product comprising silica glass, asbestos boad + fineflex, pulp slag and a fire-retarding material or a material such as a tin plate or the like. The temp. lowering within the furnace of the metal-mixing vehicle is controlled until said metal-mixing vehicle receives next molten metal again in a blast furnace and the temp. lowering of the received molten metal is also reduced. At the same time, the refractory material within the metal-mixing vehicle is prevented from spalling, and repairing cost can be reduced. Moreover, the above-described cover is easily molten by the received molten metal or simply and mechanically broken.
