DESIGN FOR A STOVE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 12,606, dated December 20, 1881.
Application tiled November 17, 1881.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that we, H. CLAY BASGOM and burns A. HODGES, each a citizen ofthe United States, residing in the city of Troy, in the county of Rensselaer and State of New York, have jointly invented and produced a new and original Design for a Stove, of which the following is a specification, reference being bad to the accompanying print, out, or engraving of a stove having said new design.
The design for the hooded urn A is composed ofthe lower stem-supported bowl-shaped part, b, hood 0, of long concavcly-conical form, and having a serrate lower rim, a, pending over and distinct from the rim of the bowl I), and the lateral ornamental standards (I, having the top pointed parts, (1, bottom scrollleaves, d and intermediate parts, d conformed to opposite sides of the bow] and hood, and supporting the latter over the former, and all shaped and arranged together so as to appear substantially as represented in the accompanying out.
The design for the end cap'plates, 13, consists of the bottom arched fillet, e, bordered above by the series of circle ornamentsf, the middle npwardly-pointing curved top fillets, g, bordered below by the rectangular ornamentations h, and terminating laterally in the curved and straight inclined fillets g, and the intermediate middle ornamentations, i, all shaped and arranged together substantially as shown in the aforesaid print.
The design for the balustrade C consists of the central skeleton-wheel-form ornament, j, and the lateral open-work scroll-vines k k on the base-bar l, and covered by the inclined and ornamented top rail, 1, all shaped and arranged together as represented in the accompanyin g engraving.
The side plate, I), and end door, E, are of the same general shapes as those shown in United States Design Patent No. 11,882, of July 20, 18%0, but are differently ornamented.
The present design for the side plate, D, consists of the two compound standard-like 0rnarnents m at, extending from the bottom to near the top of the end portions of the plate, and the compound bar ornaments an, extend ing along the middle parts of the top and bottom portions of the plate, all of said ornaments being composed and shaped in their several parts and arranged together substantially as shown in the aforesaid cut.

Our present design for the end door, E, consists of the middle quadrilateral raised panel, 0, having the incut compound central ornament, 0, the lateral compound ornaments p, the ornamental upwardly-pointed name-plate q under the pendent cord ornament r, and the lower cornerscrol1-vine ornaments, s, all shaped and disposed substantially as represented in the aforesaid print.
The design for the skirting l consists of the Hat arch if, having the series of circle ornaments u and the scioll-vine end ornaments, r, all shaped and arranged as shown in the. ac com panying engraving.
The design for the legs consists of the vinelike ornaments w on the inclined side wings, w, central rectangular ornamented upper front part, as, ledge-molding a", central downwardly tapering ornamented part, y, and the inclined ornamental side moldings, 2,1111 shaped and combined as shown.
What we claim as our joint invention is 1. The design for the hooded urn A, composed of the parts I) c c (I d (1 d, all shaped and arranged together as set forth.
2. The design for the end cap-plates, B, composed of the parts cfg h g 2', all shaped and arranged as set forth.
3. The design for the open-work b tlustrade C, consisting of the partsj k k l I, all shaped and combined as set forth.
4. The design for the side plate, D, composed of the compound ornaments m m and a a, severally shaped, composed, and arranged together as set forth.
5. The design for the end door, E, consisting of the parts 0, o, p, q, r, and s, all shaped and arranged as set forth.
6. The design for the skirting F. composed of the parts t, a, and c, all shaped and arranged as shown and described.
7. The design for the legs, consisting of the parts w w w x y 2, all shaped and combined as set forth.
