Abstract

596629 Disclosed is an acoustic screening device for damping noise. The device has a framework and a noise absorber arranged on the framework. The noise absorber is an exchangeable cassette with a noise-absorbing mat. An air gap former is integrated in to the cassette behind the noise-absorbing mat so as to form an air gap between the noise-absorbing mat and the framework. The air gap former is arranged to form a number of cells or compartments between the noise-absorbing mat and the framework. The cells or compartments define closed air volumes. The noise-absorbing mat is, at least to some degree, noise and air permeable. The noise absorbing mat consists of a mat of rubber granulate. The rubber granulate is bound in the mat in such a way that air permeable pores or channels are formed in the mat. The noise absorber is fitted against a substantially planar concrete surface.
