Et vaerbeskyttet veikantbasert batteriladningssystem (10) som tllveiebrlnger en mekanisme for å overføre elektrisk effekt til et elektrisk kjøretøy (11) for å gjenopplade dets batteri (14). Batterlladningssystemet Innbefatter et hus (16) som typisk er plassert på siden av en vel eller gate ved fortauskanten eller eksempel- vis på en batterioppladningsstasjon. En tilbaketrekk- bar ladnlngsanordnlng (12) er koblet til en krafttil- førsel (20) og sammenføyes med en mottaksanordning (13) som er anbragt l kjøretøyet (11).
