Description
Vaske- og rensemidler.
Det er kjent til vaske- og rensemidler som inneholder grenseflateaktive forbindelser, å sette stoffer som forbedrer vaskebadets smussbæreevne.
Slike, i det følgende som grådannelsesinhibitorer be-tegnede stoffer, hindrer en resorpsjon av det utløste smuss på:, de rensede overflater. Det dreier seg derfor for det meste om poly-anioniske polymere som enten fremstilles av naturstoffer, som cellulose, gelatin eller lim eller ved polymerisasjon av vinylfor-bindelser, som akrylsyre, metakrylsyre, maleinsyre og deres blandinger med kopolymeriserbare olefiner. Også polysnlfonatene av vinylpolymere ble anbefalt allerede som grådannelsesinhiberende tilsetninger til vaske- og rensemidler. Av de aktuelle forbindelser har imidlertid bare karboksymetylcellulosen fått en større teknisk betydning da den i sin grådannelsesinhiberende virkning overtreffer alle kjente syntetiske polymere. Karboksymetylcellulosen og også
de nevnte syntetiske polymere har imidlertid den ulempe at deres grådannelsesnedsettende virkning er begrenset til cellulosefibre, mens den er praktisk talt uvirksom ved vasking av syntetiske fiber-materialer, spesielt slike av polyamider, polyestere og polyolefiner. Denne ulempe gjør seg spesielt merkbar overfor hvite tekstiler av syntesefibre resp. blandingsvevnader av syntese- og cellulosefibre, som ved bruk på tross av stadig vasking grågjøres irreversibelt og således får et uheldig utseende.
Det besto den oppgave å frembringe et middel som ikke har ovennevnte ulemper.
Oppfinnelsens gjenstand er et vaske-: og rensemiddel
som er karakterisert ved at det som gråhetshindrende middel inneholder fra 0,1 til 20 vektprosent, referert til midlets samlede vekt, av vannoppløselige salter av karboksylgruppéholdige polyestere fremstilt ved polymerisering av trikarboksylsyre og/eller tetrakarboksylsyre og toverdige alkoholer, hvori eventuelt inntil 50 molprosent av tri- eller tetråkarboksylsyren er erstattet med en dikarboksylsyre.
Ved stoffene som anvendes ifølge oppfinnelsen dreier
det seg om ekte polyestere, altså om forbindelser, hvor samme alkoholrest og samme syrerest gjentatt forekommer i samme molekyl og er forbundet esteraktig med hverandre. Betegner man hydrokarbon-restene av den toverdige alkohol méd A, hydrokarbonresten av den treverdige karboksylsyre med B, så kan polyesteren omtrent gjengis ved følgende formel:

idet m = 1 eller 2,
og n = 4 til 1000.
Symbolet n betyr polyesterens polymerisasjonsgrad. Slik nyere undersøkelser har vist ligger denne polymerisasjonsgrad mellom 4 og 1000.
Polyesteren kan dessuten eventuelt inneholde en dikarboksylsyre, hvis hydrokarbonrest betegnes med B<1>. Slike polyestere lar seg gjengi ved følgende formel

De i de nye vaskemidler i saltform inneholdte polyestere fremstilles etter kjente fremgangsmåter. Som utgangsstoffer kommer det på tale alifatiske, cykloalifatiske og aromatiske tri- resp. tetrakarboksylsyrer såvel som deres blandinger, spesielt sitronsyre, trikarballylsyre, nitrilotrieddiksyre, 'etylendiaminotetraeddiksyre, cykloheksan-trikarboksylsyre, trimesinsyre, oksytrimesinsyre og pyromellitsyre. De nevnte syrer kan inntil 50 molprosent erstattes, med alifatiske, mettede eller umettede såvel som cykloalifatiske eller aromatiske dikarboksylsyrer, som malon-, rav-, glutar-, adipin-, sebacin-, malein- og fumarsyre såvel som benzoldikarbonsyrer. De til anvendelse kommende flerverdige karboksylsyrer inneholder vanlig-vis inntil 20 karbonatomer.
De angjeldende forbindelser med to alifatiske hydroksylgrupper kan inneholde alifatiske, cykloalifatiske, aralifatiske, rettlinjede eller forgrenede, mettede eller umettede hydrokarbonrester såvel som heteroatomer som 0, N og S. Egnede hydroksyl-forbindelser er alifatiske dioler med 2-18, fortrinnsvis*2-8 karbonatomer, som etylenglykol, propandiol-1,3, propandiol-1,2, butandiol-1,4, butendiol-1,4, pentandiol-1,5, 2,2-dimetylpropan-diol-1,3, heksandiol-1,6, heptandiol-1,7 og 2,.2-dietylpropandiol-1,3 > videre eteralkoholer, som di- og trietylenglykol, di- eller tripropylenglykol, glycerinmonoalkyleter og tiodietylenglykol. Som utgangsstoffer med cykliske hydrokarbonrester lar det seg f.eks. anvende cykloheksandiol såvel som slike toverdige fenoler, hvis hydroksylgrupper er foretret med alifatiske glykoler, som hydro-chinondiglykoleter, resorcindiglykoleter og 2,2-bis(4-hydroksy-fenyl)propah-diglykoleter. Egnede er videre dialkylolaminer, som i nitrogenatomet kan være substituert med alifatiske eller aromatiske hydrokarbonrester og hvori alkylolresten inneholder 1-6, fortrinnsvis 1-3 alkyl-, aryl- eller alkylarylrester inntil 18 karbonatomer. Slike forbindelser er eksempelvis N-metyldietanolamin, N-metyldipropanolamin, N-etyldietanolamin, N-butyldietanolamin, N-dodecyldietanolamin, N-cykloheksyldipropanolamin og N-fenyldi-etanolamin.
Polyesterenes fremstilling foregår etter kjente fremgangsmåter, eksempelvis ved flere timers oppvarmning av blandingen under normalt trykk eller i vakuum, resp. i nærvær av et oppløs-ningsmiddel hvormed reaksjonsvannet kan avdestilleres azeotropt. Ved tilsetning av vanlige forestringskatalysatorer, spesielt
sterke uorganiske eller organiske syrer, kan omsetningen aksele-reres. Istedenfor de frie di-, tri- eller tetrakarboksylsyrer kan det også anvendes deres anhydrider og halogenider, spesielt dihalo-genidene som utgangsstoffer. Likeledes kan de flerverdige karbon-syrer i form av deres diestere, som.avleder seg fra enverdige, lavmolekylære alkoholer, omforestres med de toverdige alkoholer i nærvær av vanlige omforestringskatalysatorer på kjent måte. Eksempler for slike diestere er sitronsyredimetylesteren og pyromellitsyredietylesteren. Anvender man derved alkaliske omforestringskatalysatorer, så må det påses at disse etter nøytrali-sering av de frie karboksylgrupper dessuten er tilstede i tilstrekkelig overskudd.
Ved valg av molforholdet mellom polykarboksylsyre og toverdig alkohol innen et foretrukket område fra 1,1 : 0,9 til 0,9 : 1,1 lar polymerisasjonsgraden seg variere innen visse grenser. Por å oppnå en god grådannelseshindrende virkning tilstrebes imidlertid en høy-polymerisasjonsgrad. For unngåelse av en for tidlig kjedenedbrytning foretrekkes derfor et molforhold som ligger
nærme st 1:1.
De på angitt måte fremstilte frie karboksylgruppéholdige polyestere er av harpikslignende beskaffenhet, praktisk talt uopp-løselig i vann og i organiske oppløsningsmidler, derimot lett oppløselig i fortynnet alkali. De kan dessuten inneholde under-ordnede mengder av lavmolekylære estere, resp. av ikke omsatte utgangsstoffer, som lar seg fjerne ved ekstrahering med organiske oppløsningsmidler og igjen bringe til omsetning. Da disse forbindelser ikke influerer på midlenes rensningsegenskaper, er en slik adskillelse generelt ikke nødvendig.
På grunn av de høymolekylære forbindelsers uoppløselig-het i organiske oppløsningsmidler og på grunn av deres innhold av lavmolekylære deler svikter de vanlige metoder for en molekylvekts-bestemmelse. Polyestrenes polymerisasjonsgrad og molekylvekt lar seg derfor ikke angi med tilstrekkelig nøyaktighet.
Vaskemidlene kan inneholde ønskelige vannoppløselige salter av polyestren ifølge oppfinnelsen, fortrinnsvis alkalimetall-og ammoniumsaltene. Med ammoniumsalter skal det også forstås saltene av organiske ammoniumbaser. Polyestrene kan settes til vaskemidlene også i form av de frie syrer, hvis alkalisk reagerende stoffer er tilstede i et for saltdannelsen tilstrekkelig overskudd.
Foruten polyestrenee salter inneholder de nye vaske-
og rensemidler de i slike midler vanlige overflateaktive stoffer, eksempelvis slike av sulfat- eller sulfonattypen, som primære og sekundære alkylsulfater såvel som sulfatene av etoksylerte eller propoksylerte fettalkoholer, videre alkylbenzolsulfonater, primære og sekundære olefinsulfonater, alkylsulfonater og a-sulfofettsyre-estere. Ytterligere forbindelser av denne klasse som eventuelt kan finne anvendelse, er de høyeremolekylære sulfaterte partialetere og partialestere av flerverdige alkoholer, sulfatene av etoksylerte eller propoksylerte fettsyreamider og alkylfenoler, videre fett-syretaurider og fettsyreisotionater såvel som deres analoge. Egnede er videre alkalisåpene av fettsyrer såvel som fettsyrekondensa-sjonsproduktene av aminosyrer eller avbyggede eggehvitestoffer. Videre kommer det på tale amfolyter, som alkylbetainer og alkyl-sulf obetainer. Midlene kan videre inneholde ikke ioniske vaske-aktivstoffer som alkyl- og acylpolyglykoletere, alkylfenolpoly-glykoletere, blandingskondensater av polyetylenglykol og'poly-propylenglykol, fettsyresukkerestere, aminooksyder og fettsyre-
alkanolamider. De nevnte forbindelser kan også anvendes i blanding. Hvis forbindelsene har en alifatisk hydrokarbonrest, skal denne fortrinnsvis være rettlinjet og ha 8-22 karbonatomer.
I forbindelsene med aralifatiske hydrokarbonrester inneholder de fortrinnsvis uforgrenede alkylkjeder i middel" 6-16 karbonatomer.
De nye vaske- og rensemidler kan dessuten tilsvarende deres eventuelle anvendelsesformål inneholde ytterligere vanlige bestanddeler, som pyrofosfater, polyfosfater og høyere kondenserte fosfater såvel som silikater i form av deres alkalisalter, videre oksygenavgivende resp. aktivklorholdige blekemidler, som alkali-perborater, alkaliperkarbonater, alkalihypokloriter, klorerte cyanursyrer og deres alkalisalter såvel som nøytralsalter, som magnesiumsilikat og natriumsulfat. Videre kan det være tilstede sequestreringsmidler, spesielt alkalisalter av aminopoiykarbonsyrer, f.eks. natriumsaltene av aminotrieddiksyre eller etylendiaminotetraeddiksyre såvel som alkalisaltene av hydroksyalkyldifosfon-syrer og aminopolyfosfonsyrer, f.eks. dinatriumsalter av 1-hydroksyetan-l,l-difosfonsyrer, resp. heksantriumsaltet av aminotri-(metylenfosfonsyre).
Som blandingsbestanddelene kommer det også på tale stoffer til regulering av pH-verdien, som natriumkarbonat, natrium-bikarbonat, melkesyre og sitronsyre.
Midlene kan videre inneholde optiske lysgjørere, som derivater av diaminostilbendisulfonsyre eller diarylpyrazolin-sulfonsyre. Por regulering av skumforholdene kan midlene videre inneholde skumforbedrere, som fettsyreamider eller skumhindrings-midler, spesielt trialkylmelaminer.
De nye vaske- Og rensemidler, kan foreligge i fast, spesielt pulverform eller i form av oppløsninger eller pastaer.
På grunn av polyestersaltenes gode vannoppløselighet er de spesielt egnet til fremstilling av flytende vaskemiddelkonsentrater. Slike flytende preparater kan ved siden av de ovennevnte bestanddeler også inneholde hydrotrope stoffer, som lavmolekylære alkylbenzolsulfonater, .urinstoff såvel som organiske oppløsningsmidler.
I noen tilfeller^ eksempelvis ved vasking av tekstil-materialer av cellulose eller regenerert cellulose, kan vaske-virkningen dessuten økes ved tilsetning av vanlige grådannelsesinhibitorer, spesielt karboksymetylcellulose. De mengder som skal anvendes av karboksymetylcellulose utgjør ca. 0,1 til 3%, referert
til midlets samlede vekt.
De nye midler egner seg til rensning av gjenstander
av alle typer, spesielt imidlertid til vasking av tekstiler som er fremstilt av syntese- eller cellulosefibre av regenerert cellulose eller av blandinger av de nevnte fibertyper. Overfor kjente vaskemidler letter de nye midler vaskeprosessen og øker vaskens hvithetsgrad.
Eksempler.
Den grådannelsesinhiberende virkning av de i følgende eksempler omtalte forbindelser ble undersøkt etter kjente metoder. Det er A) "Redeposisjons"-metoden (også kjent under navnet "Ruckvaschmethode"), hvorunder man forstår den felles vasking av smussig og rent tekstilgods,
B) "Deposisjon"-metoden, hvor de rene tekstiler vaskes
i et kunstig tilsmusset bad.
A) Redeposisjons- metoden.
I "Launder-Ometer" (Atlas, Chicago, U.S.A) ble det inntil fem ganger vasket hver gang 4 lapper av bomullsrenforcé resp. syntesevevnad av 8,3 g samlet vekt sammen med 1,3 g av et kunstig tilsmusset bomullsgarn i 30 min. Deretter ble det fastslått refleksjonsverdien med et fotometer ("Elrepho" fra firma Carl Zeiss, under anvendelse av filter nr. 6).
Den til tilsmussing av bomullsgarnet benyttede praksisnære stpiv/hudfettkombinasjon besto av en blanding av kaolin,
jernoksydsort, sot og syntetisk hudfett (av 1/3 fettsyrer, 1/3 fett og 1/3 hydrokarboner). Bomullsgarnet inneholdt etter tilsmussing ca. 11$ pigmenter og ca. 2% hudfett.
Det ble anvendt et vaskemiddel med sammensetning
20% n-dodecylbenzolsulfonat (Ma-salt)
2, 5% kokosfettalkoholsulfat (Na-salt)

idet anvendelseskonsentrasjonen utgjorde 5 g/l og hårdheten av det anvendte springvann 10° dH. Bomullsprøvene ble vasket ved 90°C og et badforhold på 1:12 (bad 115 ml), prøven av syntesevevnad ved 60°C og et badforhold på 1:30 (bad 290 ml) hver gang i 30 min.
Deretter ble det spylt fire ganger med destillert vann, tørket
og strøkede prøver vurdert fotometrisk.
B) Deposisjons- metode.
Undersøkelsen etter denne metode ble foretatt med strengvare i "Terg-O-tometer" (United States Testing Company, Hoboken, U.S.A.)- 10 g småstrenger av det tilsvarende substrat
ble vasket i 1 liter' vaskebad (badforhold 1:100) under tilsetning av 0,2, 0,5, 1,0 og 1,5 g standardisert sot ("Degussa 100") ved hver gang 5$-ig anvendelse av den grådannelsesinhibitor som skulle undersøkes.
Det anvendte vaskemiddel besto av et flytende preparat av følgende sammensetning:
7,8 g/l n-dodecylbenzolsulfonat (Na-salt)
1,1 g/l kokosfettalkoholsulfat (Na-salt)
1,1 g/l. talgfettalkoholsulfat (Na-salt)
16,0 g/l. natriumpyrofosfat
lh , 0 g/l. natriumsulf at 5,0 g/l. grådannelsesinhibitor.
Av denne stamoppløsning ble det hver gang 100 ml fortynnet med springvann av 10° dH til en liter. Prøvene ble vasket ved 60°C i 10 min. ved 100 omdreininger pr. min. av terg-0-tometeret, deretter spylt tre ganger med destillert vann, tørket og vurdert fotometrisk.
Eksempel 1.
385 g (2 mol) vannfri sitronsyre, 125 g (2 mol) vannfri etylenglykol og 500 ml xylol ble oppvarmet sammen med en dråpe konsentrert svovelsyre i en destillasjonsapparatur som var utstyrt med en innretning til utskilling av vann og tilbakeføring av oppløsningsmidlet så lenge til det ikke mer utskilte seg reaksjons-vann i forlaget. Xylolen ble>avhelt fra den dannede uoppløselige harpiks og residuet tørket i vakuum. Polyestren løste seg under omrøring i 2-n NaOH. Den overskytende lut (ca. 5%) ble nøytralisert med fortynnet svovelsyre og den nøytrale oppløsning innstillet på
et polyesterinnhold på 10 g/l. Av denne oppløsning ble det til vaskemidlene satt tilsvarende mengder.
På tilsvarende måte ble det omsatt:
Vaskeforsøkenes resultater er oppstillet i følgende tabeller. Grågjøringen av polyester-, bomull- og bomull-pcly-propylen-blandingsvevnader ble bestemt etter metode A (redeposi-sj ons-metoden) etter hver gang 5 vaskeprosesser. Forsøkene med perlonvevnad såvel som en blandingsvevnad av 67% polyester og 33$ bomull ble foretatt etter metode B (Deposisjons-metoden). Forkortelsen CMC betyr karboksymetylcellulose som hver gang ble anvendt til sammenligning.
Resultatene viser tydelig overlegenhet ved midlene ifølge oppfinnelsen i forhold til karboksymetylcellulose.
Claims (2)
1. Vaske- og rensemiddel, karakterisert ved at det som gråhetshindrende middel inneholder fra 0,1 til 20 vektprosent, referert til midlets samlede vekt, av vannoppløselige salter av karboksylgruppéholdige polyestere fremstilt ved polymerisering av trikarboksylsyre og/eller tetrakarboksylsyre og av den generelle formel :
idet A betegner hydrokarbonresten av den toverdige alkohol, og B betegner hydrokarbonresten av den treverdige karboksylsyre, og m = .1 eller 2, og n = A til 1000, hvori eventuelt inntil 50 molprosent av tri- eller tetrakarboksylsyren er erstattet med en dikarboksylsyre av den generelle formelt
hvor A og B har ovennevnte betydning, x+y=l, y=0 til 0,5, x = 0,5 til 1.
2. Middel ifølge krav 1, hvori alkoholrestene avleder seg fra toverdige alifatiske alkoholer med 2-18 karbonatomer.
