Abstract
Se describe una composicion polimerica pirorretardante que consiste de: a) 20-60 por ciento en peso de un elastomero termoplastico o reticulado, o reticulable, y b) como un agente pirorretardante, 40-80 por ciento en peso de un hidroxido de aluminio con los valores materiales de: superficie especifica de acuerdo con BET 3-5 mg2/g, tamano medio de grano d50 de 1.0 - 1.5 m, humedad residual de 0.1 - 0.4%, absorcion de aceite de 19-23%, absorcion de agua de 0.4-0.6 m1/g o de un hidroxido de aluminio con valores de material de: superficie especifica de acuerdo con BET 5-8 m2/g, tamano medio de grano d50 de 0.8-1.3 m, humedad residual de 0.1-0.6%, absorcion de aceite de 21-25% y absorcion de agua de 0.6-0.8 m1/g. Un proceso para producir el agente pirrorretardante, caracterizado en que se somete un hidroxido de aluminio de filtro humedo obtenido por precipitacion y filtracion, con una dimension de grano promedio de 0.8 a 1.5 micras, a un molido en seco en una corriente turbulenta de aire caliente de manera que mientras la distribucion de grano se retiene en gran medida, se incremente la superficie BET por amenos 20%.
