Abstract

Un proceso para la preparación de 2-alquil-6-metil-N-(1'-metoxi-2'-propilo)-anilina mediante la alquilación reductiva catalítica en donde, cuando menos un equivalente de mole de la metoxiacetona se hace reaccionar con un equivalente de mole de 2-aquil-6-metil-anilina en un medio líquido sin un solvente adicional, en la presencia de un catalizador de carbono platinado e hidrógeno y en la presencia de un cocatalizador ácido bajo una presión de hidrógeno de entre 2 x (10)5 y 1 x (10)6 Para una temperatura de entre 20 y 80 ºC, caracterizado porque la mezcla de la reacción contiene agua desde el principio de la reacción y después de la hidrogenación, se agrega una base, se filtra la mezcla de la reacción para separar el catalizador y el compuesto titular recuperado a partir del filtrado. El proceso es particularmente útil para la preparación de herbicidas de cloracetanilida N-substituída.
