Abstract
Se describen lentes de contacto de hidrogel de silicona dimensionalmente estables. Los lentes se derivan de una composición polimerizable que incluye un primer monómero de siloxano representado por la fórmula (1): (ver Fótmula) en donde m de fórmula (1) representa un número entero de 3 a 10, n de fórmula (1) representa un número entero de 1 a 10, R1 de fórmula (1) es un grupo alquilo que tiene de 1 a 4 átomos de carbono, y cada R2 de fórmula (1) es independientemente un átomo de hidrógeno o un grupo metilo; los lentes también incluyen unidades derivadas de un segundo monómero de siloxano representado por la fórmula (2): (ver Fórmula) donde R1 de fórmula (2) se selecciona dé cualquiera de un átomo de hidrógeno o un grupo metilo; R2 de fórmula (2) se selecciona de cualquiera de un átomo de hidrógeno o un grupo hidrocarburo que tiene de 1 a 4 átomos de carbono; m de la fórmula (2) representa un entero de 0 a 10; n de la fórmula (2) representa un entero de 4 a 100; a y b representan números enteros de 1 o más; a + b es igual a 20-500; b/(a+b) es igual a 0.01-0.22; la configuración de unidades de siloxano incluye una configuración al azar, el segundo monómero de siloxano tiene un peso molecular promedio numérico de al menos 3,000 daltons que está presente en la composición polimerizable en una cantidad tal que la relación del primer monómero de siloxano al segundo monómero de siloxano es al menos 2:1 basado en partes unitarias por peso.
