Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a una nueva molécula de ácido nucleico que puede inhibir la expresión de un gen y que se puede producir en forma fácil y eficaz. La molécula de ácido nucleico es una molécula de ácido nucleico de cadena simple que incluye una secuencia inhibitoria de expresión que inhibe la expresión de un gen blanco. La molécula de ácido nucleico de cadena simple incluye, en secuencia desde el extremo 5' al extremo 3': una región de extremo 5' (Xc); una región interna (Z); y una región de extremo 3' (Yc). La región interna (Z) está compuesta por una región interna del extremo 5' (X) y una región interna del extremo 3' (Y) que están unidas entre sí. La región del extremo 5' (Xc) es complementaria a la región interna del extremo 5' (X). La región del extremo 3' (Yc) es complementaria a la región interna del extremo 3(Y). Al menos una de la región interna (Z), la región del extremo 5' (Xc), y la región del extremo 3' (Yc) incluye la secuencia inhibitoria de expresión. De acuerdo a esta molécula de ácido nucleico de cadena simple, es posible inhibir la expresión del gen blanco.
