Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un proceso para la purificación de una alimentación líquida sustancialmente libre de agua que comprende ácido monocloroacético, ácido dicloroacético, opcionalmente cloruros de ácidos, opcionalmente anhídridos y opcionalmente ácido acético, que comprende los pasos de (a) agregar agua a la alimentación líquida de manera que se obtiene una alimentación líquida que comprende entre 0.01 y 5% en peso de agua, con respecto al peso total de la alimentación líquida, y (b) someter posteriormente a la alimentación líquida obtenida en el paso (a) a un paso de hidrodecloración catalítica poniéndola en contacto con una fuente de hidrógeno para convertir el ácido dicloroacético en ácido monocloroacético en presencia de un catalizador sólido heterogéneo para la hidrogenación que comprende uno o más metales del Grupo VIII de la Tabla Periódica de Elementos depositado en un portador.
