Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un proceso para la producción de una composición de polietileno multimodal en el sistema de reactor de acuerdo con la invención, el cual comprende: (a) polimerizar el etileno en un medio de hidrocarburo inerte en el primer reactor en la presencia de un sistema catalizador, el cual se selecciona a partir de catalizador Ziegler-Natta o metaloceno, e hidrógeno en una cantidad del 0.1 al 95 por ciento por mol con respecto al total de gas presente en la fase de vapor en el primer reactor para obtener un polietileno de peso molecular bajo o un polietileno de peso molecular medio; (b) remover, en la unidad para remover el hidrógeno, del 98.0 al 99.8 por ciento en peso del hidrógeno comprendido en una mezcla de pasta acuosa obtenida a partir del primer reactor a una presión en el intervalo de 103 a 145 kPa (absoluta), y transferir la mezcla residual obtenida hasta el segundo reactor; (c) polimerizar el etileno y de una forma opcional un comonómero de a-olefina de 4 a 12 átomos de carbono en el segundo reactor en la presencia de un sistema catalizador, el cual se selecciona a partir de catalizador Ziegler-Natta o metaloceno, y en la presencia de hidrógeno en una cantidad obtenida en el paso (b) para obtener un primer polietileno de alto peso molecular o un primer polietileno de ultra-alto peso molecular en la forma de un homopolímero o de un copolímero, y transferir una mezcla resultante hacia el tercer reactor; y (d) polimerizar el etileno, y de una forma opcional un comonómero de a-olefina en el tercer reactor en la presencia de un sistema catalizador, el cual se selecciona a partir de catalizador Ziegler-Natta o metaloceno, e hidrógeno, en donde la cantidad de hidrógeno en el tercer reactor está en un intervalo del 1 al 70 por ciento por mol, de preferencia del 1 al 60 por ciento por mol con respecto al total de gas presente en la fase de vapor en el tercer reactor, o de una forma opcional en una ausencia sustancial de hidrógeno, para obtener un segundo homopolímero o copolímero de polietileno de alto peso molecular o un segundo homopolímero o copolímero de polietileno de ultra-alto peso molecular; y una composición de polietileno multimodal que se puede obtener de esta manera.
