Abstract

La invención se relaciona a un método para incrementar el beneficio del almidón en el material celulósico convertido en pulpa, preferiblemente convertido de nuevo en pulpa en la fabricación de papel o cartón que comprende las etapas de (a) convertir en pulpa un material celulósico que contiene un almidón, (b) tratar el material celulósico que comprende el almidón con uno o más biocidas, preferiblemente en el área de pasta espesa, y (h) adicionar un polímero jónico y preferiblemente, un polímero auxiliar al material celulósico; en donde el polímero iónico y el polímero iónico auxiliar opcionalmente adicionados tienen preferiblemente un peso molecular promedio diferente y preferiblemente una ionicidad diferente, en donde la ionicidad es el contenido molar de las unidades monoméricas iónicas con relación a la cantidad total de unidades monoméricas.
