Abstract

Un proceso para fabricar papel con carga comprende las etapas de proporcionar una suspensión celulósica de pasta papelera espesa que contiene pulpa mecánica y relleno o carga, diluir la suspensión de pasta papelera espesa para formar una suspensión de pasta papelera líquida, en donde el relleno o carga está presente en la suspensión de pasta papelera líquida en una cantidad de al menos 10% en peso con base en el peso de la pasta papelera líquida, flocular la suspensión de pasta papelera espesa y/o la pasta papelera líquida utilizando un sistema de retención/drenado polimérico, drenar la suspensión de pasta papelera líquida en un tamiz para formar una hoja y después secar la hoja, en donde el sistema de retención/drenado polimérico comprende, i) un polímero ramificado soluble en agua y ii) un polímero catiónico o anfotérico soluble en agua. El proceso es particularmente conveniente para producir papel grado mecánico con carga, tal como papel grado SC. El proceso permite la separación de parámetros de retención y drenado, en especial útiles para máquinas de papel rápido drenado tales como las Gapformer.
