Claims (9)
- 吸気弁で開閉される吸気ポートを介して気筒内に新気を導入するとともに、排気弁で開閉される排気ポートを介して気筒内に排気ガスを再吸入するように構成された4サイクルエンジンにおいて、
上記排気ポートは、第1排気ポートと第2排気ポートを有し、該第1排気ポートから上記排気ガスを再吸入するとともに、上記第2排気ポートから二次空気を吸入することにより、気筒内に、上記新気に上記排気ガスを含む温度の高い第1温度層と、上記新気に上記二次空気を含み、上記第1温度層より温度の低い第2温度層とを形成することを特徴とする4サイクルエンジン。 - 請求項1において、上記エンジンは第1気筒と、該第1気筒と燃焼タイミングが異なる第2気筒とを有し、
上記第1気筒の排気弁開時の燃焼室内からの圧力波(ブローダウン圧力波)を上記第2気筒の排気弁が再度開かれる再開期間に該第2気筒の排気ポートに作用させるように構成されたブローダウン圧力波過給機構と、
二次空気を上記第2排気ポートに供給する二次空気供給機構とを備え、
上記第2気筒の吸気行程から圧縮行程の下死点付近に該第2気筒の排気弁の再開期間を設定するとともに該再開期間に上記第1気筒からのブローダウン圧力波を該第2気筒の排気ポートに作用させることにより、排気ガスを上記第1排気ポートから第2気筒内に導入するとともに、上記二次空気供給機構により上記第2排気ポートに供給された二次空気を上記第2気筒内に導入することを特徴とする4サイクルエンジン。 - 請求項2において、上記二次空気供給機構は、上記第2排気ポートに二次空気供給通路を介して接続されたエアポンプと、該二次空気供給通路に介在された開閉制御弁とを備え、排気弁の閉期間に二次空気を第2排気ポートに供給し、
上記第2気筒の吸気行程から圧縮行程の下死点付近に該第2気筒の排気弁の再開期間を設定するとともに上記ブローダウン圧力波を該再期間に該第2気筒の排気ポートに作用させることにより、上記第1排気ポートから排気ガスを第2気筒に導入するとともに、上記第2排気ポートから該第2排気ポートに供給されている二次空気を第2気筒に導入することを特徴とする4サイクルエンジン。 - 請求項2において、上記エンジンは、電動モータ又はエンジン出力で駆動される過給機が介設された吸気系を備え、排気ポート内圧力以上の加圧新気を各気筒内に供給するように構成されており、
上記二次空気供給機構は、上記吸気系から供給された加圧新気を、吸気行程中の上記吸気弁と再開期間中の上記第2排気ポートの第2排気弁とのEGRオーバーラップ期間に上記第2排気ポート側に吹き抜けさせて該第2排気ポート内に供給するように構成されており、
上記第2気筒の吸気行程から圧縮行程の下死点付近に該第2気筒の排気弁の再開期間を設定するとともに該再開期間に該第2気筒の排気ポートに上記第1気筒からのブローダウン圧力波を作用させることにより、上記第1排気ポートから排気ガスを第2気筒に導入するとともに、上記第2排気ポートに供給されている二次空気を第2気筒に導入することを特徴とする4サイクルエンジン。 - 請求項2において、上記エンジンは、吸気系及び排気系の動的効果により排気ポート内圧力以上の加圧新気を各気筒内に供給するように構成されており、
上記二次空気供給機構は、上記吸気系から供給された加圧新気を、吸気行程中の上記吸気弁と再開期間中の上記第2排気ポートの第2排気弁とのEGRオーバーラップ期間に上記第2排気ポート側に吹き抜けさせて該第2排気ポート内に供給するように構成されており、
上記第2気筒の吸気行程から圧縮行程の下死点付近に該第2気筒の排気弁の再開期間を設定するとともに該再開期間に該第2気筒の排ポートに上記第1気筒からのブローダウン圧力波を作用させることにより、上記第1排気ポートから排気ガスを第2気筒に導入するとともに、上記第2排気ポートに供給されている二次空気を第2気筒に導入することを特徴とする4サイクルエンジン。 - 請求項4又は5において、上記第2排気弁の再開開始時期は吸気弁の閉時期より早く設定され、かつ第1排気弁の再開開始時期は、上記第2排気弁の再開開始時期より遅く設定されており、さらに第1気筒からのブローダウン圧力波が第2気筒の第1排気弁及び第2排気弁の再開期間に該第2気筒の排気ポートに作用するよう構成されていることを特徴とする4サイクルエンジン。
- 請求項1ないし6の何れかにおいて、排気ポートの燃焼室側開口に、再吸入された排気ガスの吸気弁側への流れを抑制するマスク部材を設けたことを特徴とする4サイクルエンジン。
- 請求項3において、上記開閉制御弁の開弁期間を気筒別又はサイクル毎に制御することにより燃焼制御を行うことを特徴とする4サイクルエンジン。
- 請求項1ないし8の何れかにおいて、上記第1温度層に燃料を供給する第1燃料噴射弁と、上記第2温度層に燃料を供給する第2燃料噴射弁とを備え、該第1,第2燃料噴射弁からの燃料噴射割合を制御することを特徴とする4サイクルエンジン。
