上記第2気筒の排気弁を吸気行程から圧縮行程の下死点付近で再度開とする排気弁再開機構と、
上記第1気筒の排気弁開時の燃焼室内からの圧力波(ブローダウン圧力波)を上記第2気筒の排気ポートに、かつ該第2気筒の排気弁の再開期間に作用させることにより排気を第2気筒内に加圧供給するブローダウン圧力波過給機構と、
上記燃焼室の天井壁側に形成され、上記第2気筒内に加圧供給された排気(EGRガス)が吸気ポートから流入する新気と混合するのを抑制するマスク部材とを備え、
上記マスク部材は、円形をなす上記排気弁開口の周縁に沿う円弧状をなしており、上記加圧供給されたEGRガスが気筒内壁面の、上記排気弁開口の中心より排気ポート側の部分に沿って流れるように、かつその大部分が上記排気弁開口の中心を通るクランク軸に平行な排気弁開口直線より反排気ポート側に位置するようにその周長及び配置位置が設定されており、
上記第2気筒内において、新気に多量の上記EGRガスを含む温度の高い第1温度層が、排気弁開口のクランク軸方向両側部分においてシリンダボアの内周面に沿うように形成され、新気に上記第1温度層より少量のEGRガスを含み、該第1温度層より温度の低い第2温度層が上記両第1温度層の間に位置するように形成される
ことを特徴としている。

Claims (4)
- 第1気筒と、該第1気筒と燃焼タイミングが異なる第2気筒とを有し、吸気弁で開閉される吸気ポートを介して気筒内に新気を導入するとともに、排気弁で開閉される排気ポートを介して気筒内に排気を再吸入するように構成され、燃焼室内に早期に噴射された燃料を、あるいは吸気ポート内で空気に混合されて燃焼室内に導入された燃料を、圧縮による温度上昇によって圧縮上死点付近で自己着火させる予混合圧縮着火燃焼(HCCI)4サイクルエンジンにおいて、
上記第2気筒の排気弁を吸気行程から圧縮行程の下死点付近で再度開とする排気弁再開機構と、
上記第1気筒の排気弁開時の燃焼室内からの圧力波(ブローダウン圧力波)を上記第2気筒の排気ポートに、かつ該第2気筒の排気弁の再開期間に作用させることにより排気を第2気筒内に加圧供給するブローダウン圧力波過給機構と、
上記燃焼室の天井壁側に形成され、上記第2気筒内に加圧供給された排気(EGRガス)が吸気ポートから流入する新気と混合するのを抑制するマスク部材とを備え、
上記マスク部材は、円形をなす上記排気弁開口の周縁に沿う円弧状をなしており、上記加圧供給されたEGRガスが気筒内壁面の、上記排気弁開口の中心より排気ポート側の部分に沿って流れるように、かつその大部分が上記排気弁開口の中心を通るクランク軸に平行な排気弁開口直線より反排気ポート側に位置するようにその周長及び配置位置が設定されており、
上記第2気筒内において、新気に多量の上記EGRガスを含む温度の高い第1温度層が、排気弁開口のクランク軸方向両側部分においてシリンダボアの内周面に沿うように形成され、新気に上記第1温度層より少量のEGRガスを含み、該第1温度層より温度の低い第2温度層が上記両第1温度層の間に位置するように形成される
ことを特徴とするHCCI4サイクルエンジン。 - 請求項1において、上記マスク部材は、上記排気弁開口の中心を通る上記円弧状の2等分線が上記排気弁開口直線より吸気ポート側の気筒内壁面部分と交差するようその周長及び配置位置が設定されていることを特徴とするHCCI4サイクルエンジン。
- 請求項1又は2において、上記マスク部材は、排気弁開口の最も吸気ポート側に位置する部分を0°として時計回りに見たとき、マスク中心が300°〜60°の範囲内に位置するよう配置され、上記マスク中心±90°〜180°の周長を有することを特徴とするHCCI4サイクルエンジン。
- 請求項1ないし3の何れかにおいて、上記マスク部材の、排気弁軸方向における高さ寸法は、上記排気弁の再開時のリフト量以下に設定されていることを特徴とするHCCI4サイクルエンジン。
