Abstract
Description
次に、図10に基づいて、本発明の第5実施例について説明する。本実施例では、電磁クラッチ42と磁石80とを回転ドラム44Aの半径方向に沿って配置し、電磁クラッチ42の鉄心60Tは、磁石80の外方に位置し、一対の側壁部60Sと該側壁部60Sとを連結する底部60Uとを有したU字形断面をしていて、開口部60Vが内方の磁石80を向いた環状体である。鉄心60の一対の側壁部60Sのそれぞれの先端に周縁部を近接させた一対の環状磁束誘導体83が配置される。環状磁束誘導体83の一方は、磁石80の一方の磁極に近接した複数の爪83Bを有し、環状磁束誘導体83の他方は、磁石80の他方の磁極に近接した複数の爪83Bを有する。一対の環状磁束誘導体83は、間にスペーサ86を挟むとともに外筒体10との間にもスペーサ86を挟んで、図示しない連結具で外筒体10に固定される。この他は、前記第1実施例と略同じである。本実施例によれば、電磁クラッチ42と磁石80とを半径方向に沿って配置したから、この位相可変装置の軸方向長さを短縮できる。もちろん、一対の環状磁束誘導体83は、内筒体20に固定することも可能である。また、本実施例は前記第1実施例と略同じ効果も奏する。

Claims (6)
- エンジンのクランクシャフトの回転が伝達される外筒部と、該外筒部に相対回転可能でエンジンの吸気弁又は排気弁を開閉させるカムシャフトに連結された内筒部と、前記外筒部及び内筒部の間に介在させた中間部材とを備え、該中間部材の作用によって前記外筒部と前記内筒部の間に相対回転を生じさせて、前記吸気弁又は排気弁の開閉タイミングを変化させるエンジンの位相可変装置において、
前記中間部材を駆動する回転ドラムと、該回転ドラムの周方向に沿って所定間隔で固定されるとともに交互に逆向きに磁化された複数の磁石と、鉄心に巻かれたコイルとを備える電磁クラッチと、前記磁石の磁極に近接する複数の爪を有するとともに前記鉄心との間にわずかな隙間を有して、前記鉄心及び前記磁石とで磁路を形成する強磁性体からなる磁束誘導体とを備え、
前記磁束誘導体は前記外筒部又は内筒部に固定されており、前記コイルへ供給する電流のON、OFF及び向きを制御して、前記爪が前記磁石に及ぼす磁力によって前記回転ドラムを加減速させ、前記中間部材を駆動することを特徴とするエンジンの位相可変装置。 - 前記鉄心は、同心の外壁部と内壁部と前記外壁部と内壁部とを連結する底部とを有したU字形断面をした環状体であり、
前記コイルは前記内壁部に巻かれており、
前記磁束誘導体は、外側磁束誘導体と内側磁束誘導体の2つの磁束誘導体からなり、前記外側磁束誘導体は、前記外壁部の先端に近接した環状の外壁部と、前記磁石の一方の磁極に近接した複数の爪を有し、前記内側誘導体は、前記内壁部の先端に近接した環状部と、前記磁石の他方の磁極に近接した複数の爪とを有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のエンジンの位相可変装置。 - 前記鉄心は、前記磁石の外方に位置し、一対の側壁部と該側壁部とを連結する底部とを有したU字形断面をしていて、開口部が前記磁石に向いた環状体であり、
前記磁束誘導体は、前記一対の側壁部のそれぞれの先端に周縁部を近接させた一対の環状磁束誘導体からなり、前記一対の環状磁束誘導体の一方は、前記磁石の一方の磁極に近接した複数の爪を有し、前記一対の環状磁束誘導体の他方は、前記磁石の他方の磁極に近接した複数の爪を有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のエンジンの位相可変装置。 - 前記一対の磁束誘導体が非磁性体のスペーサを介して連結されたことを特徴とする請求項2又は3に記載のエンジンの位相可変装置。
- 前記電磁クラッチには、最も接近した前記爪の位置を検出する位置センサと、最も接近した前記磁石の磁極を検出する磁気センサとを備えたことを特徴とする請求項1、2、3,又は4に記載のエンジンの位相可変装置。
- 前記コイルへ供給する電流の大きさも制御することを特徴とする請求項1、2、3、4,又は5に記載のエンジンの位相可変装置。
