Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 〔産業上の利用分野〕 この発明は、種々の複合機能を有するＩＣカードに関す
るものである。
〔従来の技術〕
最近、マイクロコンピュータやメモリ等を内蔵するＩＣ
カードが普及されつつあり、特に近年の半導体製造技術
の向上により、マイクロコンピュータの高性能化、メモ
リ・の記憶容量の大型化等が進んでいることは、ＩＣカ
ードの高機能化のために大きく貢献している。
このようなＩＣカードにおいては、利用される様々なア
プリケーションに関するデータが内蔵のメモリに記憶さ
れており、該メモリは同様に該カードに内蔵されたマイ
クロコンピュータによりアクセス管理がなされている。
そして一般にＩＣカードは、様々なアプリケーションに
利用可能なように、メモリ空間のブロック化がなされて
おり、指定され、許可された部分のみのアクセスが可能
となっている。
次にＩＣカードの動作の一例について説明する。
ＩＣカードシステムでは、通常ＩＣカード本体及びカー
ド所持者、そしてＩＣカードとこれを直接動作させる外
部装置（以下、ＩＣカード端末機と記す）間のやりとり
で一連の動作が行われる。
ＩＣカードがカード所持者によりＩＣカード端末機に挿
入されると、ＩＣカード端末機により電源ブロックの印
加等が行われ、ＩＣカードが活性化され、これによりＩ
Ｃカードと端末機間で識別。
照合、さらにカード所持者の本人確認等が行われる。
以上の照合、ｆｌ認動作が終了すると、ＩＣカード端末
機は目的の処理を行うため、ＩＣカード内のメモリ上に
設定されている特定ブロックを指定し、このブロックに
対してアクセスを行う。アクセスの方法には種々考えら
れるが、いずれにしてもメモリの特定部分の読み書きを
行うことにより目的の処理を実行することになる。この
ＩＣカード端末機によって指定され、内容の更新がされ
ている部分は、一般的にはＩＣカードによって内容の解
釈は行われず、アクセス管理、メモリ機能の管理が行わ
れるようになっている。
〔発明が解決しようとする問題点〕
従来のＩＣカードは以上のように構成されているので、
アプリケーションに関するエリアでのデータの記録誤り
管理は、通常端末機側ですべて行われるか、あるいは固
定のブロック化によりＩＣカードによって誤りチェック
がなされている。しかし、このような形態であると、誤
り管理を行うために端末機側の負担を増大させたり、ま
たブロックの固定化により、様々なアプリケーションに
対して融通のきかないものとなってしまうおそれがある
。
この発明は上記のような問題点を解消するためになされ
たもので、ＩＣカード側で各アプリケーションブロック
データごとにデータの記録誤り管理を行うことができ、
しかも各ブロックサイズを可変することができるＩＣカ
ードを得ることを目的とする。
〔問題点を解決するための手段〕
この発明にかかるＩＣカードは、 外部に読み出し不可能なシークレットエリア。
及びデータが記録され端末機によってアクセスされるア
プリケーションエリアが設定されたメモリと、 可変長にブロック化されたデータの各ブロックを管理す
る誤りチェックコード（以下、ＥＣＣと記す）を生成し
、これを上記シークレットエリアに記録するＥＣＣ生成
・記憶手段と、 上記誤りチェックコードを用いてブロックデータの誤り
訂正もしくは誤り検出を行う演算手段とを設けたもので
ある。
〔作用〕
この発明においては、ＩＣカードに設けられたマイクロ
プロセッサ、ＲＯＭ等からなるＥＣＣ生成・記憶手段及
び演算手段により、メモリの一部に設定されたシークレ
ットエリアに、可変長にブロック化されたデータの記録
誤り管理を行うＥＣＣを記録し、該ＥＣＣを用いて誤り
訂正もしくは誤り検出を行うから、端末機側に負担をか
けることのないフレキシブルな誤り訂正もしくは誤り検
出が可能となり、ＩＣカード自体の信頼性が向上する。
〔実施例〕
以下、本発明の実施例を図について説明する。
第１図において、１はＩＣカード、２はマイクロプロセ
ッサ、３はデータメモリであり、ＲＡＭ。
ＥＰＲＯＭ、ＥＥＰＲＯＭ等からなるものである。
４はプログラムメモリ　（ＲＯＭ）　、５は外部装置で
ある。ま゛たデータメモリ３において、３２は各アプリ
ケーション毎の記録データエリア（以下、アプリケーシ
ョンエリアの各データブロックを「ファイル」と記す）
からなるアプリケーションエリア、３１は各ファイルに
対応したディレクトリイデータ記録エリア及びＥＣＣ記
録エリアからなるシークレットエリアである。
次に第２図のフローチャートに従って本ＩＣカードの動
作について説明する。ステップ２０はアプリケーション
エリア３２の各ブロックに対して外部装置５がアクセス
することを許可するオーブンコマンドであり、まずこの
ステップ２０にてアクセスするファイルを指定し、ステ
ップ２１にてシークレットエリア３１内の該当するファ
イルＥＣＣ記録エリアのＥＣＣを読み出す、そしてステ
ップ２２．２３にて、指定されたファイルのデータとＥ
ＣＣとを用いて誤り訂正あるいは誤り検出を行う。この
際、エラーが検出されるとエラー処理（ステップ２８）
により通常処理から外れるようになる。一方、エラー発
生がないと指定ファイルのアクセスが可能となり、定め
られた手順により指定ファイルデータの読み出しあるい
は書き込みを行う　（ステップ２４）、一連のファイル
のアクセスが終了すると、ファイル内のデータ書き込み
があったか否かをチェックしくステップ２５）、書き込
みがあった場合のみステップ２７にて指定ファイルのＥ
ＣＣの生成を行うとともに・こレヲシークレットエリア
３１内の該当ファイルのＥＣＣ記録エリアに再設定する
。このようにＥＣＣの生成及び記録は、アクセスの終了
を宵宮するクローズドコマンド（ステップ２６）実行時
に行われ、このようにしてファイルアクセスを終了する
。
このような本実施例では、ＩＣカード側において各アプ
リケーションブロックデータ毎にデータの記録誤り管理
を行うので、端末機側の負担を軽減でき、しかも可変長
のブロックデータに対応でき、検査能力の高いものが得
られる。
なお、上記実施例ではＥＣＣの読み出し、検査と生成、
設定をファイルアクセス処理の始めと終わりにおいて行
っているが、これらをファイルアクセス中の読み出しく
リードコマンド時）、書き込み（ライトコマンド時）の
直前、直後等に行ってもよい。この場合の動作フローチ
ャートは、第２図のステップ２０及びステップ２６を除
いたものと全く同様である。
〔発明の効果〕
以上のように、この発明によれば、データ記録誤りの検
査、ＦＣＣ設定手段をｒｃカード内で処理し、しかもア
プリケーションファイル別に行うようにしたので、外部
装置等に負担をかけずに、検査能力の高いものが得られ
る効果がある。

第１図はこの発明の一実施例によるＩＣカードの機能ブ
ロック図、第２図は該ＩＣカードの動作シーケンスを示
す図である。 １・・・ＩＣカード、２・・・マイクロプロセッサ、３
・・・データメモリ、３１・・・シークレットエリア、
３２・・・アプリケーションエリア、４・・・プログラ
ムメモリ（ＲＯＭ）　、５・・・外部装置。 なお図中同一符号は同−又は相当部分を示す。

Claims (6)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. （１）マイクロプロセッサによってのみアクセス可能で
    かつＩＣカード外部に読み出し不可能なシークレットエ
    リア，及び複数の可変長ブロックに分割制御可能で外部
    に接続された装置によって直接的あるいは間接的にアク
    セス可能なアプリケーションエリアからなるメモリと、 上記各可変長ブロック内に記録されているデータの誤り
    訂正もしくは誤り検出のための誤りチェックコードを生
    成し、各ブロック別に独立して上記シークレットエリア
    の所定位置に記録する誤りチェックコード生成・記憶手
    段と、 上記各ブロック毎の誤りチェックコードを用いて所定の
    演算処理を行い、該当するブロックデータの誤り訂正も
    しくは誤り検出を行う演算手段とを備えたことを特徴と
    するＩＣカード。
  2. （２）上記演算手段は、上記アプリケーションエリアの
    各ブロックに対して外部装置がアクセスすることを許可
    するオープンコマンド実行時に実行され、 上記誤りチェックコード生成・記憶手段は、上記アクセ
    スの終了を宣言するクローズドコマンド実行時に実行さ
    れるものであることを特徴とする特許請求の範囲第１項
    記載のＩＣカード。
  3. （３）上記誤りチェックコード生成・記憶手段は、上記
    クローズドコマンドを実行する際、指定されたブロック
    内データがオープンコマンド実行時のデータ内容と比較
    して変化していた時のみ実行されるものであることを特
    徴とする特許請求の範囲第２項記載のＩＣカード。
  4. （４）上記演算手段は、上記アプリケーションエリアの
    各ブロックに対して外部装置によりデータを読み出すた
    めのリードコマンド時に実行され、上記誤りチェックコ
    ード生成・記憶手段は、上記アプリケーションエリアの
    各ブロックに対して外部装置によりデータを書き込むた
    めのライトコマンド実行時に実行されるものであること
    を特徴とする特許請求の範囲第１項記載のＩＣカード。
  5. （５）上記メモリは、ＲＡＭであることを特徴とする特
    許請求の範囲第１項ないし第４項のいずれかに記載のＩ
    Ｃカード。
  6. （６）上記メモリは、ＥＰＲＯＭ又はＥＥＰＲＯＭであ
    ることを特徴とする特許請求の範囲第１項ないし第４項
    のいずれかに記載のＩＣカード。
