Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は、連結される管端部、取付物または同様なもの
が熱の作用下で互に緊密に結合され、かつ継手スリーブ
が、二つの管端部の間または管端部と取付物の差込端部
の間の間隙を包囲する、管端部または取付物の部分また
は別個の部材からなる、プラスチック管を連結する管継
手およびそのような継手を作る方法、特に非収縮性プラ
スチック管を連結する管継手を作る方法に関する。
このような管継手は、収縮可能な熱可塑性プラスチック
管のための収縮継手または溶接継手 ゛または収縮性ス
リーブまたは(電気的に)溶接可能なスリーブの名前で
知られている。このような継手は、便利に取り扱うこと
ができる、緊密な継手により管網状組織において収縮性
熱可塑性管を互にまたは取付物などに連結するために使
用できる。継手を作るために、別個のスリーブを、連結
すべき要素の間の間隙の周シに設けるので、スリーブの
内径と管の外径の許容公差によりスリーブの内面と管端
部の外面の間に必然的に小さな隙間が残される。その隙
間は、ドイツ特許明細書2207060に提案されたよ
うに、液化した熱溶融接着剤で満たされ、その接着剤が
、スリーブを収縮させ、従って管端部とスリーブの間に
熱溶融接着剤を圧縮して緊密な継手を形成するのに必要
な熱をスリーブに供給するか、または前記隙間が、公告
されたドイツ出願1479281に開示されたようにス
リーブの収縮を収容するために使われ、その出願には、
二重絶縁が設けられた熱線を使って必要な溶接温度まで
隙間を加熱し、そしてスリーブに収縮に必要な熱を供給
することが教示されている。
収縮性の熱可塑性プラスチックからなる導管を結合する
ためのそのような電気的に溶接可能なスリーブの熱線の
配置と設計がドイツ特許明細書8108805で提案さ
れておシ、そこには、スリーブ本体の内側面に近接して
配置された複数の抵抗熱線を設けることが教示され、ま
た米国特許3,235,289と同様ドイツ特許8,2
26,575には、溶接リングをスリーブ本体と管の間
に残された隙間に押し込んで、前記リングを電気的に加
熱することによりリングが隙間を満たして二つの部品を
互に結合することが教示されている。
これらの周知の管継手では、スリーブ本体にその収縮に
必要な熱を供給するだめの熱溶融接着剤を用いるか、ま
たはそのような収縮熱を電気的に加熱される加熱コイル
により供給している。
前記の周知の方法は収縮可能な熱可塑性材料を連結する
ためにしか使用できない。そのような継手は種々の材料
と共に少しも使用できないし、または例えばスリーブと
管端部の間の隙間を満たさなければならない場合に十分
に信頼できない。なぜなら、熱溶融接着剤と管の表面の
間のびったシした接触が得られないからであり、また圧
力を加えるための収縮スリーブがないからである。
ポリブチレンのような非収縮性の熱可塑性プラスチック
と関連して、非常に費用がかがシ、しかも付加的な取付
物と一緒に使用したときしか必要な安全性を与えない、
機械的に作用するスリーブしか使用できないし、または
結合すべき管端部の端面を溶融温度以上に加熱し、それ
から互に対重て押しつけて突合せ溶接継手を形成できる
溶接接手か、または結合すべき端部の一方をソケットと
して設計して、ソケットの内面と管の外面を加熱し、そ
の後、前記面を一方を他方の上へ押して溶接ソケット 
−および一差込継手を形成できるような溶接継手を使用
することができる。両方の場合に、溶接作業中結合すべ
き部分を互に対して動かさなければならず、もし管を限
られた空間内に置く場合には、その相対的な移動に必要
な空間が利用できないことがしばしばある。
この理由のために、本発明の目的は、継手を建築用地で
簡単な仕方で作るように適合させなければならない場合
に、ポリブチレンのような非収縮性の熱可塑性プラスチ
ックの管の間に緊密で経済的な継手を設けることである
この目的を達成するには、本発明により、継手を形成す
る領域を包囲するスリーブ本体の内面が、管端部または
各端部の外面のテーパーと係合するテーパーを有し、ス
リーブ本体上管端部の間に隙間のない締りばめを形成し
、そして熱を供給してスリーブ本体と管端部の間に均質
な溶接継手を確立させれば良い。
加熱要素は、スリーブ本体の内面に埋設されるのが望ま
しい。
電気的熱要素が抵抗体からなるのが望ましい。
抵抗体は電気的加熱コイルからなるのが望ましい。
加熱要素は、スリーブ本体および結合すべき管が作られ
る材料で被覆されるのが望ましい。
材料はポリブチレンからなるのが望ましい。
本発明による管継手を作る方法において、限定された内
側テーパーを有するスリーブ本体を最初に作り、結合す
べき管端部にそれらの外周面に相手テーパーを形成し、
その後一つまたは複数の管端部を、スリーブ本体との間
に隙間が残らないような深さまでスリーブ本体に差込ん
で、コレットまたは同様なものにより維持できる締9ば
めを得た後、スリーブと一つまたは複数の管端部の間に
均質な継手が形成されるまで熱源を継手形成領域に作用
させる。
本発明により、熱源を限定時間の間継手形成領域に作用
させる。
本発明により、熱源をスリーブ本体の外側に配置して、
外側から継手形成領域に作用させる。
本発明により、熱源をスリーブ本体に埋設する。
本発明により、熱源を、前記スリーブ本体に結合すべき
管端部に対向してスリーブの内面に配置する。
本発明により与えられる利点は、本質的に1非収縮性プ
ラスチツク特にポリブチレンで作られた管、形材または
同様なものを緊密なかつ均質な継手により連結すること
ができ、その継手は、結合すべき部分が種々の製造公差
を有するとしても応力と無関係であることにある。
他の利点は、継手を建築用地で、狭いみそでさえ熟練を
要しない労働により経済的に簡単な仕方で容易に作るこ
とができることにある。
別の利点は、スリーブおよび結合すべき管端部が同じ材
料からなるので、管網状組織全体を同じ材料で作ること
ができ、スリーブと管に異なる材料を使う必要がないこ
とにある。
以下、本発明を、図面に示した実施例を参照していっそ
う詳細に説明する。
図面に示した管継手は、スリーブ3により包囲された管
端部1と2を含む。差し込まれた管端部1と2に対向し
て、スリーブ本体3には、スリーブ本体の中心から延び
ていてかつ外方にじょうご状に張り出している二つの側
面3aと8bが設けられている。スリーブ本体3の前記
テーパー側面8aと3bに対向して、管端部1と2にも
テーパー面1aと2aが設けられている。管端部1と2
がスリーブ本体3に差し込まれたときに1スリ一ブ本体
3と管端部1および2との間に隙間が残されないので、
管端部を挿入すれば締シばめになる。スリーブ本体のテ
ーパー側面3aと3bには、例えば加熱コイルからなる
加熱要素4が設けられている。加熱コイル4の線は外装
4aにより囲まれており、この外装は、スリーブ本体と
同じ材料で作られた被覆からなるのが望ましい。
加熱要素4は、それに代り、例えば埋設された網状組織
および側面3aと3b上の適当な被覆からなるか、また
は同様な適当な熱源からなることができる。これに代る
方法として、外部の熱源を用いて、スリーブ本体3と管
端部1および2の継手形成部分に作用させることもでき
る。その場合には、加熱要素4を省略できるのは明らか
である。誘導加熱系または同様なものを設けることもで
きる。
第2図に示した改変例は、管端部5と、この管端部5に
取りつけられたまたはこれと一体に成形されたスリーブ
本体5aとからなる管継手である。挿入された管端部6
に対向して、スリーブ本体5aはテーパー側面5bを有
する。管端部6は、保合テーパー6aを有する。
90mmの外径を有する二つのポリブチレンの間に本発
明による管継手を作る例ニ スリーブ本体3を初めからその最終形状にかつ加熱要素
4がそこに射出成形法により埋設された状態に作る。二
つの管端部1と2には、スリーブ本体3のテーパーに対
応するテーパー1aと1bを設ける。テーパ一部分3a
 、 3bおよび1a、2aの長さは、約87mmの長
さと1.6°のテーパーを有する溶接領域に対応する。
加熱要素4は、直径が0.6mmで長さ13.2rnr
rlおよび0.84オームの抵抗Rを有する銅線からな
る。管端部1aと2aを、締シ嵌めが得られるまでスリ
ーブに挿入する。24ボルトの電圧を加熱要素4の端部
4aと4bを横切って124秒加えることにより 、5
4,500ジユールになる溶接エネルギーを20℃の周
囲温度で継手形成領域に供給し、その結果スリーブ本体
3の材料と管端部1aと2aの材料が溶融しそして一緒
に流動して均質なかつ緊密な継手を構成する。継手が冷
えたときに、継手は完成して負荷を担持するのに適して
いる。一方では管端部1aおよび2aと、他方ではスリ
ーブ本体3、すなわちそのテーパー内側面3aおよび3
bの間の締りばめを溶接作業中および継手形成領域が最
終的に冷却されるまで締付装置により維持することがで
きる。

Claims (11)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. (1)プラスチック管、特に非収縮性の熱可塑性プラス
    チック管を連結するための管継手であつて、連結すべき
    管端部(1、2)、取付物または同様なものが熱の作用
    を受けて互に緊密に結合され、結合スリーブは、二つの
    管端部 (1、2)の間または管端部と取付物の差込端部の間の
    間隙を包囲する、管端部の部分または取付物端部(5a
    )の部分からなるか、または別個のスリーブ本体(3)
    からなる管継手において、継手形成領域を包囲するスリ
    ーブ本体(3)の内面が、差込まれた一つまたは複数の
    管端部(1、2)の外面(1a、2a)のテーパーに対
    応するテーパー(3a、3b)を有し、スリーブ本体と
    管端部(1、2)の間に実質的に隙間のない締りばめが
    あり、その作用により作られた均質な継手が、スリーブ
    本体(3)と一つまたは複数の管端部(1、2)の間に
    与えられることを特徴とする管継手。
  2. (2)加熱要素(4)がスリーブ本体(3)の内面に埋
    設されている、特許請求の範囲第1項に記載の管継手。
  3. (3)加熱要素(4)が電気的加熱要素からなる、特許
    請求の範囲第1項または第2項記載の管継手。
  4. (4)電気的加熱要素(4)が抵抗体からなる、特許請
    求の範囲第1項から第3項までのうちのいずれか一つに
    記載の管継手。
  5. (5)抵抗体が電気的加熱コイル(4)からなる、特許
    請求の範囲第1項から第4項までのうちのいずれか一つ
    に記載の管継手。
  6. (6)加熱要素(4)を、スリーブ本体(3)および結
    合すべき管(1、2)が作られている材料、好適にはポ
    リブチレンで被覆してある、特許請求の範囲第1項から
    第5項までのうちのいずれか一つに記載の管継手。
  7. (7)プラスチック管、特に非収縮性の熱可塑性プラス
    チック管を連結するための管継手であつて、連結すべき
    管端部(1、2)、取付物または同様なものが熱の作用
    を受けて互に緊密に結合され、結合スリーブは、二つの
    管端部 (1、2)の間または管端部と取付物の差込端部の間の
    間隙を包囲する、管端部の部分または取付物端部(5a
    )の部分からなるか、または別個のスリーブ本体(3)
    からなる管継手を作る方法において、限定された内側テ
    ーパー (3a、3b)を有するスリーブ本体(3)をまず作り
    、結合すべき管端部(1、2)にそれらの外周面に相手
    テーパー(1a、2a)を形成し、その後一つまたは複
    数のテーパー付管端部(1、2)を、スリーブ本体との
    間に隙間が残らないような深さまでスリーブ本体(3)
    に差込んで実質的に隙間のない締りばめを得てから、熱
    源を継手形成領域に実質的に作用させ、ついにはスリー
    ブ本体(3)と管端部(1、2)が締りばめの領域で互
    に接触している面が溶融して一緒に流動し、均質な継手
    を形成することを特徴とする方法。
  8. (8)熱源を、限定された時間の間継手形成領域に作用
    させる、特許請求の範囲第7項に記載の方法。
  9. (9)熱源をスリーブ本体(3)の外側に配置して、外
    側から継手形成領域に作用させる、特許請求の範囲第7
    項または第8項記載の方法。
  10. (10)熱源が、スリーブ本体(3)に埋設された加熱
    要素(4)からなる特許請求の範囲第7項から第9項ま
    でのうちのいずれか一つに記載の方法。
  11. (11)加熱要素(4)を、スリーブ本体に結合すべき
    管端部(1、2)に対向してスリーブ本体(3)の内周
    面に設けた、特許請求の範囲第7項から第10項までの
    うちのいずれか一つに記載の方法。
