【発明が解決しようとする課題】従来の複合通信ケーブ
ルは、種々の環境下で使用される際に、特に近距離用に
使用される際に、極めて鋭く曲げられることがあるため

Claims (21)
- 【請求項1】 カバー材料で被覆された伝送媒体を包
含するコア(22)と、縦軸とその縦軸に直交する断面
を有し、前記コアを被覆するジャケット(50)とを有
する複合通信ケーブルにおいて、ケーブルの断面は、2
つの部分(25、40)に分割され、この各部分の圧縮
曲げ剛性は、他の部分の引っ張り曲げ剛性に等しく、あ
る部分と他の部分の曲げ剛性は、前記ケーブル断面内の
曲げ中立軸が所定位置にあるよう、予め規定され、その
結果、伝送媒体のストレスが最小となることを特徴とす
る複合通信ケーブル。 - 【請求項2】 前記ジャケットは、少なくとも1本の
対称軸を有することを特徴とする請求項1のケーブル。 - 【請求項3】 前記ジャケットは、直交対称軸を有し
、前記曲げ中立軸は、前記直交対称軸の1本と並行に伸

度部材(27)を有する外部部分とこの強度部材の間に
配置された光ファイバ(29)である内部部分とを有す
る第1アレイ(25)と、軸方向に伸びた金属導体(4
2)を有する第2アレイ(40)とを有し、前記ジャケ
ット(50)は、前記第1アレイ(25)と第2アレイ
(40)とを被覆し、プラスチック材料製で、このケー
ブルの曲げ中立軸は、所望の位置にあることを特徴とす
る複合通信ケーブル。 - 【請求項5】 前記第1アレイと第2アレイとは、軸
方向に伸びた並行部分を有することを特徴とする請求項
1のケーブル。 - 【請求項6】 前記各アレイは前記並行部分を被覆す
るマトリックス材料を有し、前記光ファイバは保護コー
ティング層とマトリックス材料層とを有することを特徴
とする請求項4のケーブル。 - 【請求項7】 各アレイの隣接部分は、各アレイのマ
トリックス材料のウエブ(32、47)で相互接続され
ることを特徴とする請求項6のケーブル。 - 【請求項8】 第1アレイと第2アレイとは、並行で
あることを特徴とする請求項6のケーブル。 - 【請求項9】 ケーブルの曲げ中立軸は、前記の各ア
レイに並行であることを特徴とする請求項6のケーブル
。 - 【請求項10】 ケーブルの曲げ中立軸は、第1アレ
イと第2アレイとの間に位置することを特徴とする請求
項9のケーブル。 - 【請求項11】 前記各光ファイバは、第1弾性係数
のプラスチック材料で被覆され、前記各金属導体は、第
2弾性係数のプラスチック材料で被覆され、第2弾性係
数の値は第1弾性係数の値より大きいことを特徴とする
請求項10のケーブル。 - 【請求項12】 前記第1弾性係数のプラスチック材
料は、塩化ポリビニルを含有し、前記第2弾性係数のプ
ラスチック材料は、ポリエーテル・ポリエステル混合物
を含有することを特徴とする請求項11のケーブル。 - 【請求項13】 前記強度部材の弾性係数は、金属導
体の弾性係数より大きいことを特徴とする請求項12の

の直交対称軸の1つの軸は、第1と第2のアレイに平行
