Description
管腔を含み、生きている被験者の組織に接触するように構成された遠位端を有するプローブと;
遠位端に配置された温度センサと;
ポンプモータを有し、管腔を通してプローブの遠位端に極低温流体を送達し、そしてプローブから戻り極低温流体を受け取るように結合された、ポンプと;
戻り極低温流体を戻り極低温液体と戻り極低温ガスに分離するように結合された分離器と;
戻り極低温ガスの流量を測定するように結合された流量計と;そして
温度センサによって測定された温度と戻り極低温ガスの流量に応答してポンプモータのポンプ速度を制御するように構成されたプロセッサと;
を有することを特徴とする装置を提供する。
従来の極低温ポンプシステムとは対照的に、本発明の実施形態は、プローブへの極低温流体の送達によって達成される温度、ならびにプローブから極低温ガスを戻す流量を測定する。2つの測定値を使用することにより、本発明の実施形態において、プローブを低温定常状態に冷却するために必要な極低温液体の量を減らすことができる。体積の減少は、低温定常状態への移行中と低温定常状態自体の両方で発生する。

Claims (10)
- 装置であって:
管腔を含み、生きている被験者の組織に接触するように構成された遠位端を有するプローブと;
前記遠位端に配置された温度センサと;
ポンプモータを有し、前記管腔を通して前記プローブの遠位端に極低温流体を送達し、そして前記プローブから戻り極低温流体を受け取るように結合された、ポンプと;
前記戻り極低温流体を戻り極低温液体と戻り極低温ガスに分離するように結合された分離器と;
前記戻り極低温ガスの流量を測定するように結合された流量計と;そして
前記温度センサによって測定された温度と前記戻り極低温ガスの流量に応答して前記ポンプモータのポンプ速度を制御するように構成されたプロセッサと;
を有することを特徴とする装置。 - 前記ポンプがピストンポンプを有する、ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記ポンプがベローズポンプを有する、ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記温度が低下する間、前記プロセッサは、前記戻り極低温ガスの流量に関係なく、前記ポンプ速度を所定の回転速度に設定する、ことを特徴とする請求項1-3のいずれかに記載の装置。
- 前記温度が所定の定常状態値に低下している場合、前記プロセッサは、前記戻り極低温ガスの流量が測定されたピーク流量から前記測定されたピーク流量より低い所定の流量に減少するまで、前記ポンプ速度を前記所定の回転速度に設定する、ことを特徴とする請求項1-3のいずれかに記載の装置。
- 前記戻り極低温ガスの流量が前記所定の流量を含む場合、前記プロセッサは、前記ポンプ速度を、前記所定の回転速度よりも低い更なる所定の速度に低減する、ことを特徴とする請求項5に記載の装置。
- 前記ポンプ速度が前記低い更なる所定の速度に低減されている場合、前記プロセッサは、前記温度および前記流量の少なくとも1つが変化した場合に、前記ポンプ速度を増加させる、ことを特徴とする請求項6に記載の装置。
- 前記所定の流量が、測定されたピーク流量の100%未満の所定のパーセンテージである、ことを特徴とする請求項5に記載の装置。
- 前記所定のパーセンテージが50%である、ことを特徴とする請求項8に記載の装置。
- 前記温度が前記温度センサによって測定された第1の定常状態温度を含む場合、前記プロセッサは、第1の速度に前記ポンプ速度を設定し、そして前記温度が前記第1の定常状態温度よりも低い第2の定常状態温度を含む場合、前記プロセッサは前記ポンプ速度を前記第1の速度よりも大きい第2の速度に設定する、ことを特徴とする請求項1―3のいずれかに記載の装置。
