Description
実施例に係る蒸発燃料処理装置1について図面を参照して説明する。図1は、実施例に係る蒸発燃料処理装置1の模式図である。図1に示すように、蒸発燃料処理装置1は、燃料タンク30とキャニスタ40とを備えている。また、蒸発燃料処理装置1は、タンク通路71と、大気通路72と、パージ通路73とを備えている。図1に示す蒸発燃料処理装置1は、例えばガソリン車等の車両に搭載される。
DBL試験において、蒸発燃料処理装置1における第1吸着材10を構成する活性炭は、ブタンワーキングキャパシティ(BWC)が11.5g/dlの活性炭とした。活性炭の容量は、2500ccとした。
図4は、2昼夜にわたるDBL試験において、第2吸着材20よりも下流側の大気通路72を流れる蒸発燃料(すなわち、大気通路72から大気に放出される蒸発燃料)に含まれている炭化水素の総重量を示すグラフである。図4に示すグラフは、試験例1~4の多孔性金属錯体を用いた場合における炭化水素の総重量を示している。図4に示すように、試験例1~3の多孔性金属錯体を用いた場合では、大気通路72から大気に放出される蒸発燃料に含まれている炭化水素の総重量が、20mg以下である。試験例4の多孔性金属錯体を用いた場合では、大気通路72から大気に放出される蒸発燃料に含まれている炭化水素の総重量が、20mgより多い。
上記のタンク通路71、第1室41、第2室42、及び大気通路72が、蒸発燃料が流れる流路の一例である。
上記のタンク通路71、第1室41、第2室42、中間通路76、収容室66、及び大気通路72が、蒸発燃料が流れる流路の一例である。
上記の第1実施例では、第2吸着材20を構成する多孔性金属錯体が、吸着する蒸発燃料に含まれている炭素数4以下の炭化水素のうちの少なくとも1種の炭化水素(例えばブタン)の濃度がゲートオープン濃度以上になると蒸発燃料の吸着量が増大する構成であった。多孔性金属錯体はこの構成に限定されない。
第2実施例の多孔性金属錯体を用いて2昼夜にわたるDBL試験を行った。第2実施例のDBL試験では、試験例5~試験例8の多孔性金属錯体を用いた。試験例5及び6の多孔性金属錯体は、図7に示すように、炭化水素の濃度が0.050vol%以下のときに蒸発燃料の吸着量が0.50g/dL以下であり、かつ、炭化水素の濃度が5.0vol%以上のときに蒸発燃料の吸着量が2.0g/dL以上である。
図8は、2昼夜にわたるDBL試験において、蒸発燃料処理装置1(図1参照)の第2吸着材20よりも下流側の大気通路72を流れる蒸発燃料(すなわち、大気通路72から大気に放出される蒸発燃料)に含まれている炭化水素の総重量を示すグラフである。図8に示すグラフは、試験例5~8の多孔性金属錯体を用いた場合における炭化水素の総重量を示している。図8に示すように、試験例5及び6の多孔性金属錯体を用いた場合では、大気通路72から大気に放出される蒸発燃料に含まれている炭化水素の総重量が、20mg以下である。具体的には、試験例5では炭化水素の総重量が12mgであり、試験例6では炭化水素の総重量が18mgである。

- 燃料タンク内で発生した蒸発燃料が流れる流路と、
前記流路を流れる蒸発燃料を吸着するために前記流路に配置されている活性炭からなる第1吸着材と、
前記第1吸着材を通過して前記第1吸着材よりも下流側の前記流路を流れる蒸発燃料を吸着するために前記第1吸着材よりも下流側の前記流路に配置されている多孔性金属錯体からなる第2吸着材と、を備えており、
前記多孔性金属錯体は、吸着する蒸発燃料に含まれている炭素数4以下の炭化水素のうちの少なくとも1種の炭化水素の濃度がゲートオープン濃度以上になると蒸発燃料の吸着量が増大する性質を有しており、
前記ゲートオープン濃度は、大気圧環境かつ20℃以上40℃以下の温度環境において2.5vol%以下である、蒸発燃料処理装置。 - 燃料タンク内で発生した蒸発燃料が流れる流路と、
