デュアルまたは多回転シャフトの各々の直径は、典型的には約1~4インチである。中央シャフトの好ましい直径は、約1インチ~3インチの範囲である。
中央シャフトに装着された混合パドルは、ミキサーにおける追加された成分の混合および搬送を容易にするために、異なる形状および寸法を有することができる。
本発明の目的を達成するためのオーガおよび混合/搬送パドルの他の組み合わせも可能であり、本発明の一部として考えられる。ピンおよびヘッドを有するパドル、例えばパドル100を使用する場合、これらのタイプのパドルは、上述したように、また図4Bに示すように、第1の混合区分22および第2の混合区分24において単独で使用してもよく、オーガと組み合わせて使用してもよい。例えば、図3B~3Cのパドル29Bの代わりに、ピンおよびヘッドを有するパドル、例えばパドル100を代用することによってそれらを使用することができる。

このミキサーを使用して作製された繊維強化セメント質スラリーは、様々な他の用途に使用することができる。繊維スラリー混合物の用途の1つは、パネル生産である。特に、繊維強化構造コンクリートパネルの生産は、1つの好ましい用途である。
ここで、図5を参照すると、繊維スラリー送給機(繊維スラリーヘッドボックス40としても知られている)は、繊維スラリーミキサー32から繊維スラリー混合物36の供給を受け取る。
上述のように繊維が埋め込まれた凝結可能スラリーの層を配設すると、フレーム12は、ベルト14上を走行する凝結スラリー-繊維混合物46の上側表面を成形するために設けられた形成デバイスを有してもよい。

強化繊維の流れを、少なくとも1つの強化繊維入口ポートを通して前記第2の下流端混合区分の中へ送給し、前記セメント系スラリーおよび前記強化繊維を、繊維スラリー混合物を形成するために、前記第2の下流端混合区分内で混合する工程であって、
前記細長い混合チャンバの前記第2の下流端混合区分内で各々水平に載置されたインペラの少なくとも一部分が、
一定間隔かつ異なる円周方向の場所で前記ミキサーの前記水平配向シャフト上に載置された第2の複数のパドルであって、前記パドルが、前記横型筐体内で各々、それぞれの水平配向シャフトを中心として回転され、前記パドルが、前記それぞれのシャフトから半径方向に延在している、第2の複数のパドルを備える、混合する工程と、
前記繊維スラリー混合物を、前記横型連続ミキサーの前記第2の下流端混合区分において、横型筐体の側壁の開口を通して前記横型筐体の前記繊維スラリー混合物の出口ポートの中へ、かつ該出口ポートを通して、前記横型筐体に対して横方向に、前記ミキサーから排出する工程であって、
前記パドルが、中央回転シャフトが混合中に30~450RPMで回転する剪断力を、前記繊維スラリー混合物に加える間、前記セメント質スラリーおよび繊維が前記横型連続ミキサーの前記混合チャンバ中で5~240秒の平均混合滞留時間にわたって混合されて、均一な繊維スラリー混合物を生産し、
前記ミキサーから排出された前記繊維スラリー混合物が、高さ4インチ、直径2インチのパイプを使用したスランプ試験に従って測定したときに、4~11インチのスランプと、20RPMの速度で動作するSpindle HA4アタッチメント付きのBrookfield Viscometer,モデルDV-II+Proを使用して測定したときに、45000センチポアズ未満の粘度とを有する、排出する工程と、を含む、方法。
- 前記混合チャンバが、10~60秒の平均スラリー滞留時間を提供し、前記中央回転シャフトが、混合中に50~250RPMで回転し、前記ミキサーから排出された前記繊維スラリー混合物が、10000センチポアズ未満の粘度を有し、前記第2の下流端混合区分は前記横型筐体の下流端まで延在し、前記第2の下流端混合区分には、オーガがない、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記第1の混合区分および/または第2の下流端混合区分の前記パドルが、平坦パドルおよび螺旋パドルからなる群から選択され、前記平坦パドルおよび螺旋パドルが、前記パドルが前記シャフトの一部を取り囲むように前記シャフトに嵌め込まれた中央開口部を有する一体型パドルであり、前記平坦パドルおよび螺旋パドルが、前記シャフトから反対方向に延在する対向する端を有し、前記平坦パドルまたは螺旋パドルが、前記第2の下流端混合区分のパドル部分内で、前記第2の下流端混合区分において使用され、前記個々のシャフトに載置された前記パドルが、前記ミキサーの運転中、前記水平配向シャフトが回転モードにあってパドルの互いに対するスクレーピング動作による自己洗浄動作を行うとき、重なるが干渉しない配向にある、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記第1の混合区分および第2の下流端混合区分が、
-平坦または螺旋パドルが前記第1の混合区分において使用され、前記第2の下流端混合区分内のパドルが、(a)ピンおよびヘッドを有するパドル、ならびに/または(b)複数のピンを備える構成を有する、請求項1に記載の方法。 - 平坦および/または螺旋パドルが、前記第2の下流端混合区分内の前記シャフト上にあり、前記第2の下流端混合区分内の前記シャフト上の全ての隣接するパドルが、互いに対して0~90度の回転を有し、前記第2の下流端混合区分内のパドルの数が、1~10である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記第1の複数のパドルおよび前記第2の複数のパドルからなる群のうちの少なくとも1つの部材中の前記パドルの少なくともいくつかが、ヘッドのないピンを備える、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記第1の混合区分および/または第2の下流端混合区分の前記パドルが、パドルヘッドに係合するピンを備え、前記ピンが、前記水平配向シャフトおよび/または前記パドルヘッドに旋回可能に係合して前記パドルヘッドの前記水平配向シャフト上のそれぞれの場所に対する旋回的回転を可能にし、前記複数のパドルが、前記強化繊維とセメント質スラリーとを混合し、かつ混合されている前記セメント質スラリーと強化繊維とを前記繊維スラリー混合物出口に移動させるように配置され、前記第1の混合区分および第2の下流端混合区分の前記パドルが、前記パドルヘッドに係合された前記ピンを各々備え、前記第2の下流端混合区分には、オーガがない、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記第1の混合区分および/または第2の下流端混合区分の前記パドルが、パドルヘッドに係合するピンを備え、前記ピンが、前記水平配向シャフトおよび/または前記パドルヘッドに旋回可能に係合して前記パドルヘッドの前記水平配向シャフト上のそれぞれの場所に対する旋回的回転を可能にし、前記複数のパドルが、前記強化繊維とセメント質スラリーとを混合し、かつ混合されている前記セメント質スラリーと強化繊維とを前記繊維スラリー混合物出口に移動させるように配置され、前記第1の混合区分および第2の下流端混合区分の前記パドルが、前記パドルヘッドに係合した前記ピンを各々備え、前記第2の下流端混合区分には、オーガがなく、前記水平配向シャフトの長手方向軸に対する前記パドルヘッドの長手方向軸の配向が、10°~80°である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記パドルの全体的な寸法が、前記ミキサーの前記細長い混合チャンバの内周と前記水平配向シャフトからの前記パドルの最も遠い点との間のクリアランス(空間)が1/4インチ未満となるような寸法である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記セメント質スラリーと繊維とを前記横型連続ミキサーの前記混合チャンバ内で混合して、前記繊維スラリー混合物を前記横型連続ミキサーから排出させ、繊維強化コンクリートパネルを生産するためにパネル生産ラインの移動表面上に厚さ0.4~1.25インチの層として均一に前記パネル生産ラインの前記移動表面上に連続カーテンとして堆積させるのに好適であることを可能にする粘稠性を有する前記均一な繊維スラリー混合物を生産し、前記横型連続ミキサーの前記混合チャンバが、前記パドルが前記セメント質スラリーと繊維に剪断力を加える間、前記横型連続ミキサーの前記混合チャンバ内で前記セメント質スラリーと繊維とを10~120秒の平均混合滞留時間にわたって混合するように適合され、かつ構成されている、請求項1に記載の方法。
